Especially during nighttime, using either of the two main themes can be pretty disturbing and painful for your eyes. We already have a theme that changes the color theme, so why shouldn't we have another one that is mainly gray and black?

I think they're talking about adding more colors, preferable dark colors to this site so that they can change the background colors from either the green or white.

I know. I just thought that people who have issues here might also have issues in the game.

The white loading screen in game does bother me too, and having a darker loading screen makes all the difference for me. Unfortunately, the mod you linked to is outdated. It hasn't been updated since 2016 and no longer works, so someone else took over and created their own mod. It has been updated for the Seasons patch and can be found here:

I like this idea. I would like to keep green and white as options, but I would like to see dark implemented as an option.
I have always went with a black, grey, or blue theme on cell phones and computers, but it seems as if cell phone manufacturers now have this obsession with bright white. Started with iphone and now android picked this up. Cell phones should come with a pair of sunglasses now. Windows 10 defaults to white, but does let you switch to dark.
I don't have problems with Windows 10 settings which you can change brightness between 25% and 100% just by clicking on the taskbar battery setting icon.
There also is a "nightlight" facility which turns off blue light (to help you sleep later) and you can enable it to turn on at a time you choose. I turn it on at 9pm myself. (see Display settings). @EA_Mage
A dark theme seems like a good idea, by the fact that color black is comfortable color and easy to see in a dark illuminated room, such as a bedroom with the lights off.

Yes, please! I would love this as an option. I only recently discovered the dark theme for YouTube and absolutely love it! It's so much easier on these old eyes of mine at night. Especially since my 'monitor' is our 60" Vizio.
well, believe it or not, i have read that lighter themes are actually preferable for the eyes in terms of ergonomics and extended exposure...

For example, Bauer and Cavonius (1980) found that participants were 26% more accurate in reading text when they read it with dark characters on a light background.

They do come with a bluelight filter but I'd still love a dark theme.

I'd prefer black over gray. Most Samsung Phones are updating to Android Pie and One UI which comes with a darkmode option.
Twitter and YouTube already have darkmode options so I'm hoping this site will very soon.
I do use the bluelight filter on my phone at night when on this forum but darkmode would be even better. I'll soon be getting darkmode when Pie rolls out to my Note 9.

This is a suggestion I have seen a few times now and it is on the list, but I can't make any promises on when or if it will happen.

Wait? That's a thing? I don't do mods, but that looks fantastic!
