  I do believe though that it doesn't work on our wall/Activity feed as you will still be able to see who you have blocked and that it only works in the forums itself.

  Pretty much. It's not the same as a Facebook (or various other forums) where both parties completely "disappear" from one another throughout the given site. But you won't see each other on forum threads.
