Watching the likes, I guess there are approximately 10 to 15 people still reading that thread on a regular basis, with couple bypassers here and there. However, with EA having nailed console based TS3's coffin, and with the forum leadership ignoring TS3 players, as well as legagy TS2 and TS1 players all together, I guess many people simply lost interrest for the forum, but not for the content...

I never lost interrest in the game either. I feel TS3 will be, for me, one of those intemporal classics. I still (sometimes) play Sid Meier's Colonization or Master of Orion ][ even if those games are nearly 30 years old. Too bad neither EA nor Maxis feels the same way...

I haven't bothered with Sims 4, When I saw it got rid of the Open World Format.. I was pretty much Meh to that having played TS1 and 2 and not wanting to go back to Load Screens. I'm a latecomer to the store tho, and after last year's Black Friday Sale on Amazon of a bunch of downloadable expansions for pretty much $5 each I got an explosion of new content to play with and realized there was more on the Store and have been doing my best to get some fun new additions with what initially started out wanting to just get the Stone's Throw Greenhouse. I then realized all that DLC I got on Black Friday gave me 1,000 SP each and had 14k in SP to spend. It's been fun mapping out the paths to make the most of it and I'm down now to my last 257SP with 8 more items to hopefully get with that. I'm interested to see once I run out just how much I got out of that starting 14k as I know I could of done better with my first few purchases having a better understanding of the Store now but oh well. I also noticed The Sims 4 doesnt seem to have the same sort of Store format with a Daily Deal, that seems like a poor choice as it gives you something to look forward to, all-be-it a tedious process if you don't wake up at the oddball time and then have to wait months. xD
I love the open world in Sims 3. When my sims drive through a town, I like to follow them and see the sites. I still love the opening overhead sweep of the world when a new game is created.
I think many of us can relate to your comment that we could have done better with some of our purchases. I started buying from the store when it opened back in June 2009. While I did get many deals over the years and was able to take advantage of various discounts, the DD and CYS, I don't even want to calculate how much I could have saved if I started purchasing items now.
I have definitely found that stalking the DD has been as much fun as playing the game.
I have the entire store content installed on my Windows 7 computer. I recently installed the entire game collection on my Windows 10 computer and am in the process of following Ciane's method to install the store content. So, I am playing without the store items, and every now and then, I do miss an item, especially the premium items, the venues and worlds.
The new rotation has started. The previous deal counted down to zero. The current deal started with 2 hours and 13 seconds on the clock. Deals now commence at 24 minutes after the hour.
I don't know if I will be able to see this current deal turn over but I would be interested to see the percent sold. This first deal's quantity is still under the old system with limited quantities. (The deal is under the old system because, with all the previous DD lists, the last deal of the previous DD became the first deal of the current DD.) While I don't expect this deal to come close to selling out, the percent sold is a better reflection of activity than the other deals with "unlimited" quantities. Since we are not privy to store sales statistics, we have no knowledge of how active the store is.

I'm doubtfull that in the following years TS4 will be as loved and sucessful as TS3 was, and I'm doubtfull TS5 will be a success, given how they openly disrespect us but expect us to spend money purchasing their games out of blind faith. Wikipedia's entries say it all:

My Wishlist
I love the open world in Sims 3. When my sims drive through a town, I like to follow them and see the sites. I still love the opening overhead sweep of the world when a new game is created.
I think many of us can relate to your comment that we could have done better with some of our purchases. I started buying from the store when it opened back in June 2009. While I did get many deals over the years and was able to take advantage of various discounts, the DD and CYS, I don't even want to calculate how much I could have saved if I started purchasing items now.
I have definitely found that stalking the DD has been as much fun as playing the game.
I have the entire store content installed on my Windows 7 computer. I recently installed the entire game collection on my Windows 10 computer and am in the process of following Ciane's method to install the store content. So, I am playing without the store items, and every now and then, I do miss an item, especially the premium items, the venues and worlds.

The new rotation has started. The previous deal counted down to zero. The current deal started with 2 hours and 13 seconds on the clock. Deals now commence at 24 minutes after the hour.
I don't know if I will be able to see this current deal turn over but I would be interested to see the percent sold. This first deal's quantity is still under the old system with limited quantities. (The deal is under the old system because, with all the previous DD lists, the last deal of the previous DD became the first deal of the current DD.) While I don't expect this deal to come close to selling out, the percent sold is a better reflection of activity than the other deals with "unlimited" quantities. Since we are not privy to store sales statistics, we have no knowledge of how active the store is.
