Moving Sims 4 to HDD from SSD? Help needed!

Sorry if there is already a more recent topic about this. I could only find threads years old and wasn't sure if they would still apply.

So my SSD only has 35GB left, and so I'm thinking of moving the base game and all expansions to my bigger HDD.
How would I do this and keep my save games intact at the same time?

Also would there be any significant performance loss with using my HDD instead?

Hello.
It would be best to move /install the game on to the HDD drive.. It would also be best to move your Documents folder to the HDD drive also.

Make a new folder on the HDD drive where you want to install the game and name it.
To change where the sims 4 game is installed , go to Application settings in Origin , and the setting will be under "Installs and Saves " Browse through until you can find the new folder that you have created on the HDD drive. Set that folder as the place to install the game.

With Sims 4, there won’t any performance loss by moving it to the HDD.

With the moving of your Documents folder, your Sims 4 folder will remain the same, so your saves will stay the same.
It will still be in Documents-Electronic Arts -Sims 4 folder

Thanks for your help,
Is it possible to just move my Sims 4 folder to my HDD instead without hurting my saves? I can't move my Documents folder right now since I have folders for other programs in there.

You are unable to only move the sims 4 folder to the HDD. But moving the whole Documents there won’t affect any folders for other programs that you have there. It is only a change in locatiion, to help to free up hard drive space.

So I moved the game and the whole documents folder over after and everything is working well! I haven't noticed any performance differences really, and the loading screens are good. It's still running well even with Seasons. Thanks a bunch for your help!!
