I don’t know how I got the Ultimate Collection. I had one Sims 2 pack in Origins (and all the CDs once upon a time). But the Origins pack I had magically converted to the ultimate collection, it seems.
So, I decided to relive a simpler time and have been playing it recently. I figured out I had to drop the shadows down to get rid of the black rug under my feet, but I still have a narrow strip of the walls that shows up even on breakaway. Is there any fix for that? What other adjustments might make it look better on a newer gaming rig?

Is that wall near the top of the wall... like the floor edge of the floor above?
Thanks, @Rflong7. It looks like a thin wall trim near the top of the wall. I'll screenshot it tomorrow. I'm not sure what it is I'm seeing or how to fix it.
That is just the floor shader. You can see it from certain camera angles. If you want you can get a recolor of it to make it invisible. (that's what I did)
This is actually a default replacement for it to recolor it, so make sure you only keep ONE in the file. (they will all download and you have to choose) Just toss the rest.
