Life on Mars is such a creative build, I love it! And that goes for both the amazing exterior as for the interiors, I especially love the colour combination in the basement, the white and teal give it such a sci/fi look while still being soothing and homey as well. Loving this! <3

    Picture Album

This home was built for a Build N Share challenge. My inspiration was the Belton House or Rosings Park from 'Pride and Prejudice'. It includes a large entry hall, library with study, sitting room, drawing room, parlor and dining room on the main floor. The two upper levels include six ensuite bedrooms. Outdoors has formal gardens, a vegetable and fruit garden, greenhouse, pool, fishing pond and an informal recreation garden. The kitchen is in the basement per challenge rules and is designed in the manner and style of those long ago days.

There are WAY too many pictures to post here but I will put in a few and include the link to the full album, for those who care to have a look.

Austen Inspired Estate is such a very grand and detailed home! :) It looks so very great! You would have spent so much time and work doing it! The exterior design of the home building looks very nice! Very nice design and layout of the outdoors areas! The formal garden areas look so very great! It looks great how you have used the hedging . The placement of the flowers looks very nice! It is great that there is a greenhouse in the build! The vegetable and fruit garden is very nice, and the pool patio with the trellis covered sitting nook is great! Very nice furnishing of the interior ! Each room, area and level of the home looks so very nice! Very nice design of the basement kitchen! The archway double stove cooking nook looks very creatively nice! Very nice double fridge nook also! The colours used in all of the rooms looks very nice. Very nice furnishing of the bedrooms!
It is such a very elegant and grand estate build home which reflects so well the Austen era period! :)

Wowsers, what a gorgeous place Cath! The grounds are stunning and it's decorated so beautifully inside, you put a lot of work in this build. And I'm loving that black kitchen.

@rosemow, Thank you so very much for your detailed and lovely review Rose! I truly appreciate the time you take to have such a thorough look.<3

    Thank you so much @romagi1, @AIRIS6962, @Sandraelle, @liel88, @soocoolsim and @BreeMiles!<3

@Sandraelle and @liel88 Thank you for noticing the kitchen, ladies! I saw a picture of something similar while researching online and tried my best to replicate the original picture. The hardest thing was, getting the arch to work as a decoration rather than a doorway. I was extremely happy when my tester sim was actually able to use those ovens.:blush:

Pride and Prejudice, huh??!! One of my favorites. Austen is gorgeous, Ms Cath. I see why you've been busy. Perfect color choices and those dark bedrooms are stunning. LOVE the kitchen! Gardens! Greenhouse!

It's perfect. Enough said. The End.

@Cassee, Thank you for the awesome comment Cassee! The greenhouse.... grrrr! I really wanted to have both a greenhouse and a pergola with this home but because of the high foundation, I had to come up with something that didn't require actual walls. At first, I had those fancy windows with the scrolling (2nd wall height) for the greenhouse. But because of their height I had to raise the greenhouse roof up a few notches, forgetting that when the lot was placed, the roof piece would fall to ground level. Doh! :rage: So I had to play around with smaller windows till I found something that would work. Anyway it all worked out in the end. Thanks again Cass!<3

It's gorgeous. The honey-gold of the brick really makes it stand out, and all the exterior intricacies make it feel like a Real Thing. I also appreciate the formal layout of the gardens.

Wow, Austen Inspired Estate is absolutely stunning, you have really nailed the Regency theme both inside and out. The kitchen is incredible, love the arch nook with the cookers, looks very effective and the formal gardens are so very beautiful, what a dream :)

@WrathofCath Well, been there. Done that!! Your's looks amazing. I have tried several times to build a greenhouse I was happy with. NOT HAPPENING!! Sooo excited for glass roof tops and all the new stuff. I wish EA would release a BUILDERS PACK. You know, just building stuff. Stairs, Seamless glass windows, fences with MATCHING 1 & 2 square gates, MORE STONE & BRICK wallpapers, tons more decor (actual real decor .... alarm clocks, table pics, a plain -fits all styles- wall sconce), a pinball machine, home phone (decor or working). I want all the STUFF from Sims 3 to be available for Sims 4. I miss the Sims Store. ;-(

Anyhoo, have a great day. Toodles♥♥

I hear ya Cassee. One of the little things I really miss too, are shutters that we could add to plain windows. More, more, more! That's all we're asking for! :p

@Corwim Thank you so much Wim!
