sims have dissaperead

hi im having a problem with my sims 4 game i played with my sims fine on sunday just gone and had a computer update when i shut of my computer the next day when i opened my sims game i continued building the house i was building then after that i created a family i wanted to move in i went in the house and no sims were visible so i clicked on my library for households and theres no pictures of my sims also when i click on the other familys i have made the picture is blue no picture of the sim i ade just the name and when i click to play them the same thing theyre not there i have repaired game takiing all my mods out and started a new world but again i can create a sim but they not there when i go n click to play on them has i said this been since my laptop updated and im using windows 8 please could someone help

Hello.
Check to make sure that the files of your creations are still in your sims 4 - tray folder.
Try resetting your sims 4 folder, starting a new save game file, and testing to see if it occurs there also . To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated.
Start a new game , make a new household and test to see if the issues are in that new save game. Your households from your library won’t be there, but you can test to see if you can save the new household to your library and if the new household appears in your game.
Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" or "options" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder.
Test your save game again.

ok i refreshed my sim 4 folder think i did it right and still cant play my world but i created a new save and actually was able to play a sim so hopefully it is fixed ty for your help i will let you know if it stops working again =]

On a similar note, I played Sims 4 this morning, everything fine, came out, saved game. Then I pre-ordered the new extension, "Seasons" online got an acknowledgement. Then This afternoon about 5 hours later I went into the game, and it has gone, no saved games, nothing. Just new game. It was as though I had made a clean install, because all the extensions I have came up one by one as though I had never played them before. Only new game. What has happened?

No I looked there isn't even a saved file, completely gone. As were all my saved Sims and houses which I created, it is just as though I have wiped the game completely and reinstalled, I've had to go back to the few I have saved online and resurrected them. So far the new game has loaded twice. So disappointed as this is the second time I have lost a game when my Sim families, into the fourth and fifth generations, have been lost. I wondered if it is to do with ordering the new game, I had an email to say that the new extension had been acknowledged. This is the confirmation I received.

"A receipt for your purchase is below. While certainly handy, it's not nearly as exciting as the game you just added to your library. Head over to the "My Game Library" tab in the Origin client to start playing!"

Whether that had anything to do with it I don't know I thought it wasn't due out till June 22..

Try using the search button on your computer to see if perhaps an extra saves or/and tray folder has been generated with the missing files in it somewhere else on your computer or on One Drive if you use that.
It wouldn’t be related to you ordering the new ep.
Do you have much free space on the hard drive where you have installed the Sims 4 game? Lack of free hard drive space can cause issues.

I have looked and there are no other saved files, my computer was built by a relative especially for Sims, and has a huge memory to accommodate it, to date I have used less than 1% o f the memory. It is the only game I play. Other files and saves including my documents are intact. So am perplexed and irritated.

I am sorry that your save game files have gone missing

You would have done this but I am just checking that they aren’t in the recyliing bin.

Hello @purplereign
Preordering the game shouldn’t cause your saves to be deleted. Are the save game files not in your Documents -Electronic Arts - sims 4 - saves folder?
If they aren’t there, do you use One Drive? If you do it could be causing this issue, Try seeing if there is a saves folder in One Drive . The game may have moved your save games there.

If you don’t use One Drive, try using the search bar on your computer , and search to see if there may be another saves folder on your computer that the game has generated, that has your save game files.

Are there no save files in your saves folder? Do you have much free drive space on the drive that your sims 4 game is installed on ?
