Sigh. Ever heard of Sims 2? It's closed world and still has cars.

Anywho, I'm looking forward to info on features they haven't told us about yet.

    I haven't played the sims 2 :P

My first sims game was 4, I'm pretty new to the sims

Has anybody noticed in the description under Key Features, it says "From hot and sunny to blustery and snowy, every world’s climate is unique and impacts your Sims’ choices, relationships and daily activities. "

Emphasise on the "every world's climate is unique" does this indicate that each world will be a different season? Not all seasons in one world.

I think it's more referring to the weather effects -- it might be snowing in Newcrest, but when you travel to Oasis Springs it might be raining instead, or maybe dry but cool enough for a sweater. Places like Windenburg or Brindleton Bay might get more snow than Willow Creek, and there will be no snow in Selvadorada but some fairly heavy rainstorms.

I actually think it's saying that all worlds have different weather patterns (for example, In Oasis Springs there is eternal summer while in Willow Creek there are all the seasons)

I love cars in TS1 and TS2, especially 2 because the animations getting in and out were nicely made compared to 3 where they just teleport into the vehicle. It was also nice seeing the carpool gradually upgrade as you progressed in your career.
In 2 you could make a garage and use them from there or put it on the driveway and they worked just fine. There's no reason why they can't just fade out when they get to the edge of the lot like Sims do but that extra bit of immersion is fun and something for your Sims to work towards being able to afford. They could even have the teens/young adults learn to drive or have a car to work on like in Freetime.

Thank you for that information. I have no clue what cars were like in the sims 2 because i've never played it.
I'm wondering what kind of new traits we'll get.

Probably the Loves the Cold and Loves the Heat traits from The Sims 3: Seasons, or something similar.

I want more traits, there's not enough. ^^

I want more traits too, but most EPs have only added in 2 new traits. I still am keeping my hopes up for new traits though.
I am not sure if I can talk about this here.. but it was from the new blog today about the Climate family

    This caught my interest
"And finally, winter. We can’t say much about winter, except that it may bring some unexpected family members."

..... I am confused by this.. curious if this mean pregnancies will occur more often in winter time? That could be interesting if they added that! Or does it mean something else entirely? I'm super excited to find out! xD

I'm also wondering about rotational play.. if I go to a house and play.. and I start on Summer and end on Winter.. will it be winter in that same spot when I get back, or will I have missed winter and entered Spring because I was playing another family?

If it's the latter then I suppose I'll be keeping my individual families in separate saves and only playing one family per save; which I'm fine with..... sorta... just because that's how I've been doing it already, but lately I've been wanting to add more of my own Sims to the game instead of having townies being the only friends my Sims have. :/

Time will tell. Can't wait for more information.

I wanted to do that too, but then if you have MCCC, your sim that you're playing with might randomly die or get pregnant or do something weird while you're playing with another household :|

Although I'm sure this will be an amazing addition to the base game, I still observe, from the trailer, certain issues that I do not believe were intended but should still be discussed.
In the trailer, we are able to see families enjoying Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, and Easter. I do understand that these are some of the most well-known holidays globally, but they are not what ALL households would consider "the norm". In my opinion, this upcoming expansion pack is culturally lacking.
I'm personally from a Chinese background, and I can say that I do not celebrate any of those holidays. Instead, I celebrate festivals such as Lunar New Year, the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the Qingming Festival. Other holidays that are widely celebrated by several people are Ramadan, Eid, Diwali, Chuseok, and Cinco de Mayo.
The holidays shown within the video were very Eurocentric and target Western culture.
I am not suggesting to overload the game with all the holidays that exist, but having some diversity would definitely make the gameplay more interesting. I fully understand that with the release date so near, it is practically impossible to piece together something of quality, but I really do hope the team puts some consideration into this.

Well, it said you could create holidays, so I'm hoping that means you can literally create holidays. If you could, that would be awesome!

This is actually happening isn't it? it's not just me?

The announcement out of nowhere, the release date in June, ever since I heard I've felt like I'm in a wonderful dream and I'm worried I'm gonna wake up at any moment.

    Noooo. The sickening, it's happening!!!!

Erm, sorry, I meant seasons. I'm so excited!!! And yeah the release date is awesome and so close. They should always release withing this time window. Much much better than having to wait two months.

So much this! And I like that the two-week boost event includes the Gardening skill so it feels like I have something productive to do that's pack-related. I figured out last night which Sim is going to enter a Gardening career for something new in her life, now that her kids are growing up :)

I want more traits, too. But they really need to let us choose more than 3. Fingers still crossed for that patch.

What I'm hoping to see is how this pack would co-exist and interact with other packs.

Like for pets, I wonder how pets will react to weather. I hope that they could leave a trail in the snow and play in piles of leaves aswell.

I wonder how the eco-friendly side of the laundry day pack would be affected by the weather system as well.

I hope they could bring all 4 seasons to granite falls too. It would be a cool seeing snow there.

Curious to see how seasons and weather would affect the world visually, like would the glass windows become frosted during winter. And the building around catch snow too and maybe even have seasonal decorations around the city.

Really excited to get this pack in my game. :)

You guys, I think this may be hinting at weather traits?

They mentioned lying by the pool....

Could it be...LOUNGE CHAIRS?! ::gleeful applause::

No Grant ruled lounge chairs out.

So what are they lying on? A towel? The ground?

In one of the screenshots it looked like there were beach towels on the grass -- could be the lying down by the pool is on beach towels. We already have the lying down animation from cloudgazing/stargazing, just take out the pointing/talking animations.

Don't know if we should expect another trailer, but definitely expect more and more blog posts to come out every week or so.
I think a trailer will come, but not this Tuesday for some reason.

Actually MCCC controls things like that pretty well; it ignores Sims that you mark as Played and affects the non-played Sims in terms of marriage/babies. If you're playing a pregnant Sim then rotate away the Sim will give birth (and the baby gets a random name) but that's the game not MCCC.

In the water fight scene there were a couple of towels on the left under the picnic decór.

I'm just saying, because in one of Lilsimsie's videos, she was playing with a household and then she saw her sim from another household pregnant (when she wasn't originally). And at the time, Lilsimsie was using MCCC. So it is possible. But this was possibly patched in the latest MCCC update.

Can we at least count on some light improvement? I don't want it to look the same like The Sims 3 where light was stopping on lot edge..

It might be detail for many but not for me and I expect good expansion since the price is higher than The Sims 3

I pay the same for Sims 4 eps that I paid for Sims 3 eps. Both were 40 US dollars for me. Now 3's ep are cheaper but they were not cheaper when the game was in development - I assure you. I have 3500 in Sims 3. The most expensive game ever - but I bought all pack special editions, pre-ordered and own the whole Sims 3 store. Some of which I was even gifted. But believe me Sims 4 is not more expensive. I paid 47 USdollars for the Lucky Palms world and casino - that was just one world.

Believe me gaming is a hobby that has never been cheap and I have been gaming since gaming existed. I remember paying 60-70 US dollar for console cartridges way back in the 1980's - for Christmas gifts to family. Surprised some console prices are still that price even now. So considering the cost of living back in the 80's that was expensive.
