Hi guys,

I've created a new version of the Foster Challenge (inspired by SimLady36 https://simlady36.wordpress.com/oster-child-challenge-rules/).
I'd love your input! So feel free to drop a comment below or tweet me https://twitter.com/PhDSimmer

The Foster Challenge

Your objective is to have two young adult sims raise as many happy foster children as they can throughout their lives. There is only one level of difficulty but points are up for grabs (if you want to track them)! Remember it's all about the quality of your adopted children's lives not just the quantity you adopt!

Rules

Your Sims:
  • Create two young adult sims known as your caretakers. They can be any gender and be occult sims if you wish. They can be friends, married, in a relationship or be related in any way you like.
  • One caretaker is the stay-at-home caretaker, they must have the family orientated trait and one of the family aspirations, other traits are your choice.
  • The second caretaker may have any aspiration and traits you like.
  • The caretakers cannot have any children of their own.
  • Move your caretakers into an empty lot (any size or location) and set the family funds to £25,000.
  • Build a house on the empty lot, download a house from the gallery or buy an existing house. Use as much of the £25,000 as you wish but no more money cheats are allowed after this.
  • Only one of your caretakers can get a job, the other can earn money from home (gardening, fishing, painting, writing, programming etc).

Game Play:
  • Play the game on normal life span and a maximum of 8 sims per household (including pets).
  • The only sims allowed to live in the household are the caretakers and their foster children (you may also have pets and a live in butler if you wish).
  • Adopt as many babies, toddlers, children and teens as you want throughout your caretakers lives. You can create them yourself, adopt in game or download from the gallery. You may also wish for a child with the wishing well.
  • If you adopt over the phone it costs £1000 in the game so for fairness you must take £1000 off your household funds if you add a toddler, child or teen from the gallery or create your own in CAS. You do not have to pay £1000 if you get a child from the wishing well as your wish has come true!
  • You may give yourself a weekly payment from social services per foster child (you can decide the amount yourself, but if you want to make things more difficult then don't do this).
  • All traits and aspirations of adopted children must be chosen at random unless pre-decided (i.e. those from the gallery or over the phone).
  • You may change the name of adopted children and edit their appearance in CAS when they age up but do not edit traits or aspirations.
  • Do not use cheats to prolong your caretakers lives, but you may use in-game rewards and cow plant milk.
  • Do not bring back sims from the dead with cheats, but you are allowed to plead with the grim reaper and use the wishing well.
  • Get to School mod is allowed.
  • Do not use cheats that will benefit you over other plays (e.g. for money, skills, career promotions).
  • You must move out the adopted children once they become a young adult.
  • If one caretaker dies before their time then you may chose one of your young adult foster children to take over their position.
  • The challenge ends when both the original two caretakers have died (or if you get bored once they both become elders) or if social services take any children away from your household at any time.
  • You may age up a baby early once you get the notification says its nearly their birthday - not before.
  • You may age up a toddler early if they max 3 skills.
  • You may age up a child early if they have an A grade.
  • You may age up a teen early if they have an A grade or are at the top of a teen job and have at least a B grade.
