Sorry for all of this guys. We've been fighting with broken things pretty much all day. I'm not sure why the security certificate keeps going down.
In an attempt to prevent this from happening in the future we upgraded to a different service, but apparently it takes time to transition things over to the new one, so the site might be down for a while. At this point everything that's happening is happening on the hosts end, so there isn't really much I can do but wait.
I am so sorry for the inconvenience. If I had known this was going to happen today, I would have posted something telling everyone that the site would be down today, but it was as much of a surprise for me as it is for all of you. This wasn't exactly how I wanted to spend my Sunday. I really hope stuff comes back up soon.
Again, I'm sorry for all of this. Hopefully things will be back up and running tomorrow. I'll try and keep you all posted. I do sometimes forget about the Sims forums. So if you don't hear anything from me here check my Twitter or the Legacy Challenge Twitter for updates!
Your hard work is definitely very much appreciated. I was so glad to find this update, was starting to hyper ventilate when I got the 404 LOL. Funny the things that send us into a panic. love the legacy challenge - it is so much a part of my life. Now I am off to find the twitter account so I can keep up with the status.
Legacy Challenge website should be up in the next few hours. I'm really REALLY sorry it's taking this long guys. Unfortunately the issues are out of my hands. Which is incredibly stressful for me. I'll keep you posted.
Also @sassytxbrat I have it linked in my signature but you could follow either MysticsLibrary or Sims_Legacy over on Twitter. I'm posting updates on both accounts as I get them.
After 36 hours the Legacy Challenge website is finally up again. I apologize again for how long the site was down. I really hope it doesn't happen again. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone.
I started playing this challenge and chose Strict Patriarchy - Strict Traditional - First Born, but now my founder has two daughters so far. Do I just have to wait for the first born son?

Yes, wait until your founder has a son. Straight patriarchy means no girl founders.

I've started tons of legacies and I always have the same problem. This time I started a blog for my legacy. It helps so much- I stay invested because other people are invested, you know? Plus, it gives me a better reason to try different things in the game I might not have done before. It's viridivalues.weebly.com if you want to check it out. I just finished my second generation, and I'm about to start the third, and I'm still super excited!
Check out my Legacy Blog! I'm not much of a writer- but I think I'm funny. Though- humor is subjective.
Why does the Legacy Challenge website have such terrible adverts that block most of the screen? Is there a way to close them? I am using Google Chrome and can't read half of what's there.
started playing Sims 4 about a year ago and never knew there was challenges. How do you start a challenge? I understand for legacy challenge you just make a Sim and buy a 50/50 lot and all but I guess what I’m asking is do you have to do anything before making the Sim in CAS to begin the challenge or do you just do it? Like is it an actual challenge that marks progress or is it just something you do on your own?

The Sims Legacy Challenge (official version) was started in earlier versions of the Sims. @Pinstar1161 & @MysticLegacy have been revising it and keeping it updated for years.
Keep in mind this is a challenge not a competition. The idea is to challenge yourself by playing within a set of rules or guidelines.
For the legacy challenge the idea is to create any Sim in CAS to be the founder / first generation. Build that Sim's household by earning money to build the first home. Add heirs to the family until you have reached the 10th generation.
Links to the official site should be in the first post.

Unfortunately many free sites will contain ads. I have a free Ad-blocking program on my browser. It helps limit pop-ups.
I started my Legacy challenge about a week ago, it's going well so far c: I've modeled the founder after my World of Warcraft main, so the legacy is special to me. I'm hoping this will motivate me to finish this challenge! Thanks for putting in the hard work to make it ^-^
Hi. Doing my very first challenge over here. Extreme start & loving it. I had one question however:
The 10th point is obtained by having/adopting 10 children in a single generation
- Do they have to be children of the same sim. And does that sim have to be the heir.
- Who do you move out? I am playing strict equality, strict traditional, random heir. So if I have one too many kids of the possible heir gender then I guessI have to keep them all in the household. If I move any of the possible heirs out of the household -except for the generated heir-, but more baby's of the same heir-sex are born: then I have to roll for the heir again. :')
