    Is Showtime worth it?

    Showtime is the only EP I don’t have, mostly because I heard it’s pretty useless. But, if I could get it on sale I might pick it up. What features do you like/dislike about it? Is there a decent amount of content?

      I'll be honest, this is the one pack I've sometimes thought I could do without. It has a decent amount of content, but I just don't care for the three Showtime careers and the way homeless NPC street performers keep spawning in high numbers in worlds where I would rather not have them -- even the mods can't stop this. And I have no use for Simporting.

      But it's also the EP that gave us genies. And dominoes -- can't beat a table game that builds logic and lets up to four sims play together, there really are never enough group activity items like that. And bananas (not sure anyone knows why). I'm glad I got it (on sale) overall. :)

      • Never used Simporting... You can unlock extra stage props through Simport but I've downloaded them from MTS instead.
      • As igazor said, VERY annoying street performers everywhere you look, and everywhere you travel! All though not a perfect solution... It's much better using NRaas mods to clean most of them up.

      • Genie Occult or 'Dusty Old Lamp' via LTR. You can also find lamps exploring the catacombs.

      • Pool table if you don't already have this from another EP.

      ST Professions... It's not something I do every generation. It helps to have a small household so you can focus on your performer sim. Can easily feel repetitive after a while but still fun and adds something different to the game.

      Some stuff I didn't mention but that's what sticks out for me. Every pack has at least something I use.

      Well, that clinches that. I guess I will be getting Showtime for the reasons that @igazor and @SimplyJen have indicated. :D And mainly because I've gone completionist.

      Hope you do too, @Olivesplum06 Even if you don't use Simport or any of the online features, the extra content is worth getting.

      I want to see my sim's reaction when he whiffs a shot in driving range.

      ...and @SimplyJen your avi. I love owls, but man the look on the face of that owl made me hysterically crack up laughing.

      Haha, if you play this game enough... It only makes sense to complete the collection.

      @Nikkei_Simmer Thanks! He is a Spotted Sixam owl that comes with the Pets EP. (rare) I love owls in RL... my kitchen is owl themed. :D

      Unfortunately to really do birding photography in the wild, I'm gonna have to re-acquire a 600/4. :)

      I want to capture a photo of a Snowy Owl in RL.
