For me, a LOT of money is anything over $100,000. Before Jungle Adventure, I had a single father of 2 teenage sons (one good, one deviant) who was struggling to make ends meet in his career. With the new pack, he was able to scrounge up enough money to take them on a 2-day vacation. They came back with over $14,000 in treasures. I sent him back alone for 7 more days and he made about $50k.
He quit his job when he got home and now authenticates artifacts full time.
My question is, this family now has $180,000! I don't even know what to do with all of this money! Between the artifacts, one son pickpocketing people and the other hacking into online databases, they have money like crazy! I liked them living in that small house with no room for a real washer/dryer so they had to do laundry in the wash tub on the back porch. It was lit! Now, it's almost not as fun because it's like now their struggle isn't real due to them having so much actual money.
My Question:
WHAT DO YOU DO WITH ALL THE SHMONEY YOUR SIMS MAKE?
What do you buy? Do you move them into a mansion? Do you keep their house the same but add an exquisite basement underneath with everything their little hearts desire? Do they quit their careers and open up a store they never visit just because they can? I'd like to know!

That's just off the top of my head for stuff to do. I'm sure there's more.
I don't know if you play with mods, but some of my sims have costly 'habits' using certain adult mods. If we ever get real gift giving, I plan to give expensive gifts away to friends & family. In The Sims 3, I'd use savvy seller parking spaces to create a car dealership and mark up the price to max. Easy way to blow millions. I really hope we get cars. I digress.
Once they're broke from spending all that money, move back into the shack. Lol.

Thanks for the mention of the ATM.
It has always been at the back of my mind since EA isn't going to do it.

After my sim broke a million, I quit my job and hired a butler. I planned to eat into the nest egg while I went off on adventures; had kids and built bigger and bigger houses, and then bought a retail lot that was really a mansion with a tiny art gallery that I'd only open on weekends to sell all my paintings at a massive mark-up.
Unfortunately, I discovered that I didn't really need the butler to cook; and so he spends most of his time tending my tomato plants, and I still feel compelled to harvest them. So now I'm making 100k+ a week. And my bills are 10k. And I spend most of my time watching as my sim diligently picks fruit. I'm still excited to have kids though; I'm hoping that working the farm will toughen them up.
A million??? I've got a ways to go then lol. Maybe I can make that a challenge
Yeah, it's not hard to get rich in this game, especially if you play legacies or long life span. My richest family lives in the White House (a president & first lady) and they have the maximum amount allowed. I think it's $9,999,999. No cheats used; they started off in an apartment. Nothing I can do to reduce their funds atm because the entire family has the shrewd reward.
I do have that enabled but this particular guy doesn’t have any kids other than the 2 teens he lives with. But I suppose I could change that...
Every time my sim get up to 7-8,ooo Simoleons I let them spend about half of it on stuff for the house until they run out of house to put stuff in, then they save money to start enlarging the house.
I also make them save for trips so sometimes they get a vacation instead of new stuff. her hobby is collecting valuable items, so she did not get a lot of money out of the relics she collected for the vacation, as most either were poor quality that she sold at cost or valuables she had to hold onto. She did not even make back the money she spent on the trip - poor girl. But on a good note - she really enjoyed her vacation.
(My Sim I am playing with at the moment, needs to build a space ship as she is an astronaut - but thus far that money was spent on visiting JA for a sims week. So back to the drawing board - saving for that rocketship.)

The ATM mod is excellent too. In a different save I had Jacques Villareal purchase a couple of high-price cash cards (I think they were $100,000 each) and put them in inventory for the kids - Hugo and Max - who would be moving out soon. However when Monday rolled around, and the kids hadn't quite moved out yet, it was a bit shocking, as the household bills had skyrocketed up to $54,000. Oops?

Yea I thought about that, buying a store or restaurant but never doing anything with it just to launder the money ha
I do plan for her to try and make a museum one day for her collections - I just have not figured out how that will happen as she is not interested in making a retail lot. I am hoping the devs will make having lots other than retail lots a possibility so she can build a Museum. I have a feeling she is going to have to build a restaurant though with a museum connected to it. Not what I want to do though - as I have no interest in running an actual business. (Early on I tried that and was not any good at it. The customers got on my last nerves too much - unlike Sims 2 - I liked businesses in that but not Sims 4. They'd probably want to buy all the artifacts, just because I didn't want them to do that. Even though they wouldn't buy anything when I actually tried a retail store. They just talked constantly.)
