As someone who micromanages her sims, I really love this challenge. I found surprisingly, that the uncontrolled sims did a lot of stuff--it just takes longer. I also discovered that when the asylum had the money that ordering low level skill books meant that the ones who would go and read books gradually picked up the skills themselves.
> @Whoosh said: > Can you take control of Sims when they need to go to work? Cause my two Sims that I gave jobs won't go.
My understanding is that no, you can't. If they go to work, they go to work. If they don't, they don't. And you can't have them do their needed tasks. If they do it, fine, if not you can't.
Doc Bried has to turn away 8 patients & hopes you will have room at your asylum. Beckie suffers from delusions of grandeur and believes she is royalty. Hope is bad tempered but able to be calmed with music. Carlo, is a harmless and fashionably challenged klepto. Rodney takes pleasure in others pain. Nose sufferers much rejection due to poor hygiene.Vance grew isolated due to being a germaphobe. Tonya is a bit borderline her love quickly turns to anger.Jen is a crazy klepto but harmless
Saying "not to be rude", then blatently being rude does not excuse rude behavior.
So after you've completed your aspirations and are "free". Is it over or do you move onto the next sim in the asylum until they are all "free"?
That is up to you. The idea is to work your Sim thru all the goals and gain freedom. You can choose to extend the challenge until all the original Sims are free.
Are you allowed to try for a baby if one of your sims dies? And if so can you control the kid?
An asylum might not be the ideal place for a child. If a child (by alien abduction or otherwise) is added they probably should not be directly controlled.
I'm sorry, but having a Sim complete one aspiration is already difficult to do within a Sim's normal lifespan. I suggest that both of the easy and medium modes have one aspiration finish the challenge. Find something else to add to the medium challenge to make it harder than easy mode. I think the hard mode is awesome and should have two aspirations needed in order to be freed from the asylum. Let me be clear: I love this challenge, really love it; three or more aspirations in one Sim's normal lifespan is...not fun or playable.
There are other small issues I have. I think that the penalty for having one day without both power or water should be lowered to minus 10 points. Is -20 points per day really necessary? Is three days without power or water really bad enough to erase all 50 points gained by completing one Sim's aspiration?
Hello @cyansims The challenge creator @simswithcheese has not been on the forums lately. I suspect there will not be future official updates. For that reason I would think it would be okay to make a few minor changes to suit your gameplay.
This challenge was a lot of fun in the sims 2 days. So I would like to try it for ts4, but I have a quick question about the add to group feature. Can you add the other sims to a group and have them sit down to watch tv with you? Or is that too cheaty? I remember that being the first thing I would do in the sims 2 challenge so they would be less likely to burn the place down by having them watch the cooking channel lol. Thanks!

I use that feature all the time. It does encourage participation in certain activities. But it does not guarantee they will no wander off somewhere.
@EuphorialQueen Okay I was just wondering because it kinda feels like I'm controlling them when encouraging them to do activities with me, like eat, watch the cooking channel, etc. I guess it was pretty much the same in the sims 2 really. Alright, well thank you :-)
Well that didn't take tooooo long, and now I can tell myself I did it for the sims 4 too . [img][/img]
Now trying to decide whether to do the Apocalypse or SuperSim Challenge. Actually! Today is Game Pack release day, what am I thinking lol. I have been considering making a sim and completing the 2 new aspirations, so maybe the supersim challenge.
Anyway, this was a lot of fun. My sim did the medium mode, her aspirations were Culinary - Chef, Painter, and Popularity - Leader of the Pack. Felt too easy, maybe next time I'll try the hard mode.
OK I'm playing sims 4 and my active sim has tech guru career and aspiration trying to do the computer whiz .. he is getting so tired at work by the time u attend to needs he doesn't get the daily task done .. can u use a modlet postion at all ?? to have before work if he has the required aspiration points to buy one ?
"One Day At A Time" - If that seems too long, lets try a hour, minute or second. and remember to Breathe, Pray, Love Marg

Happy Hollow Asylum Tour
Very cool! Did you build it?
@Fizzstix - Yes, I did. Thanks
Is the build available to download?
