About the name thing, it hasn't bothered me at all that some names don't match the sims ethniticy. I mean, one could just imagine that those sims are mixed or adopted if it bothers you.
And on the diversity note, I really wish there where more skin tones, and eye colors. Hair colors as well, as I think some of the haircolors seem to mis match with several skin tones in game. But I would prioritize skin tones over hair colors any day. And I would love it if there where more overlays like freckles and different stuff as such as they can add some dissymetry and uniqueness. Maybe some eyebrows with scars or slightly different angles? I do understand why people download CC I've seen pictures online on vitiligo skin CC, and it looks so beautiful!

My Sims are always people of color. Diversity is important for me to enjoy a game, film, story, etc. Many may disagree but I won't be interested in anything that doesn't reflect my reality somehow.
I edit every single townie and name them too (MCCC). I do that, because I want to have different races and cultures in my game, not just Asian sims generated by the game.
