@simgirl1010 that is some amazing information! I was distracted during the stream so I didn't catch all of it so I'm very grateful you provided this for a quick reference!

Actually a fire can break out when you don't empty the lint trap.
If I just posted an outfit you like, I have good news - there is more where that came from!

Yes, but the fire doesn't happen automatically. It happens when you clean out the lint tray. The longer you go without cleaning out the lint try the greater the chance of a fire when you do.

Butlers and maid will autonomously clean out the lint trap each time.

There is also an upgrade you can add to prevent fires.

Washers and dryers are functional on community lots.
You can build a laundromat so your sims with smaller homes
will be able to visit the laundromat and do their laundry.
Sims are able to take dirty laundry in their inventory.
Only your controlled sims can do laundry.

One variant has a coin operated design.
    6qOkQQc.png

Sims will autonomously do the laundry at home.
Maids and butlers will do the laundry.
Sims will have to put away the laundry.

But what do we label the community lot as for it to function like a laundromat? Just generic? Last time I checked, no other Sims will visit generic lots.

How about bar? They can have a drink while waiting for their laundry. :)

In the livestream the fire happened when the mother did not clean out the lint trap before turning it on.
Graham asked Drake "What do you think, should we clean out the lint tray?" and she said "No!" Then he had the sim turn on the dryer without cleaning it and she caught on fire. Just watch about 1h5m in to the replay.
It makes more sense that way anyway, why would the lint just autonomously burst into flames upon contact?

There is no laundry lot type. You can use a GENERIC lot type or add it to a connected bar or café. No sims will use the "Laundromat" except for your played sim that you send there. It will not attract other sims with laundry.

I will create a few Laundromats attached to other businesses that attract sims so my sim doing their laundry will have people to chat with. I have an idea for a café/laundry/bowling alley all in one location, so traffic should be pretty good. But again, only your played sim will do laundry on a community lot.

I'm going to bet someone will create a mod to make other sims go to the gym/bar/whatever to do laundry if we have the items on the lot

You can do laundry while camping at Granite Falls.

After about 20 changes of clothes a single hamper will start to spill over and clothing piles appear on the floor.

That gives me a great idea for a bowling alley/laundromat, which I was already going to make a bowling alley/private underground arcade, so why not a bowling alley/private underground arcade/laundromat? Of course that requires me to buy Bowling Night and Laundry Day, which I won't be buying for quite awhile anyway.

I noticed in the live stream that one of the possible moodlets for good laundry has a Fine emotion, which is the first I've seen. I wonder what the implications of that are. Will it cancel out the excessive happy moodlets? Will it boost or neutralize anything?

I'm talking about an actual moodlet, though. The sim in the stream had other emotional moodlets, but there was also a +2 Fine moodlet that overrode those. It's the first I've seen for this game.

Glad to see sims will put their clothes in a hamper now. In sims 3, I stopped having a washer and dryer due to piles of clothes
all over the floor. I didnt have any sims with the slob trait and had a hamper in every room. but they would still leave clothes
    all over the floor.

In the middle of watching the livestream VOD and I see there are a lot of shelving and cabinets that have slots to place other items into. That's very nice. There haven't been a lot of workable shelving in the game yet. :)
