I do hope we get some of the more basic careers that we've received in the past but new careers wouldn't be such a bad idea either. It might just be me, but I feel like we might end up with more active careers in the future. Or hybrid careers like the ones in CL. Which is honestly not a bad idea either.

Teaching- go to pc and load your video to teach a class.
Childcare- go to pc to blog about child care
Modeling- go to pc to load your video on SimTube
Actor/Actress- go to pc to load your video to SimTube

I don't expect any new jobs which won't revolve around the use of a pc.

I agree with everything that @GrumpyGlowfish said. With Fashion, if we get a sewing skill, I think it would also be cool to have fashion contests to show off your designs and/or sell them at the contest or in a store.

I think also with the Television option (if we get seasons), I would love to have a news anchor/meteorologist career. I would love for it to be an active career where you can watch them sit in front of a green screen and click on the different topics you'd want them to talk about. You could also warn sims of upcoming weather conditions or meteor showers to look out for.

With construction, there could also be jobs like Architecture which deals with Architecture, Landscape, Interior Designer, and Interior Decorator. They can carry around drawing boards, sketchbooks, mood boards, etc. to come up with floor plans and other ideas. They could also increase their handiness skill by building or modifying furniture, drawers, cabinets, etc. Maybe they can get smaller gigs like working on television sets at set designers or fixing up some homes or commercial lots.

I think it would be cool to incorporate more part-time jobs for teens and adults or allow some sims to have two part-time jobs. It could be jobs like baby sitting, retail employees, baristas, receptionist, etc. I think the game does something similar, like when you own a business, you can hire employees, but when you play with those employees, they don't recognize that they work anywhere. Idk if that is just in my game...

If we get Seasons, a weatherman that is always wrong would be fun to play.

No idea what we will actually get (if anything), but how about...

    ... Construction
We have too few careers where sims actually work with their hands. This one would have you level up Handiness to get promoted, along with Fitness to build the strength and endurance required to work at a construction site.

    ... Education
Start as a nursery school teacher and work your way up to faculty director at the Sim University. Might split into a Science or Arts branch, focusing on Logic or Painting, respectively, with Writing being required from the start because the daily tasks include publishing your own dissertations and specialised books. Would have been a great career to be introduced with the Parenthood GP (that way it could have made use of the Parenting skill as well), but whatever.

    ... Fashion
Choose between becoming a designer or a model! If we ever get a Sewing skill, this would be the best place to implement it.

    ... Law
I'm not familiar with careers of this kind, so I'll gladly leave the branches and ultimate goals to the developers, but it's an essential part of any society and should be in the game too.

    ... Military
Again, no idea about the details, but we had this career in all previous games for all I know, so it should definitely make a comeback. (Also because I need soldier clothes for my sims, but sssh!)

    ... Paranormal
As an occult hunter or cult leader, sims use their knowledge of the supernatural to either fight or control it. It would be interesting if an occult hunter could actually pose a threat to occult sims such as vampires, but that's probably just wishful thinking on my part. Still, I could see a career like this coming with a Witches GP.

    ... Television
Sims can work behind or in front of the camera, as film makers who need the Writing and Photography skills, or actors who have to work on their Charisma for popularity and Wellness for good looks.

And yes, it would be great if some of these were active.

I agree with all of this!

I’d personally love an education career and a military-based career. I think those would be my top two requests for jobs. I do already have both of those in my game as custom careers, but it’d be great to have the real things.
But in the end, more careers, no matter what type they are, would be acceptable for me. I have a big save with a lot of Sims; I need some more variety to keep things diverse.

A plumber or electrician that has job missions to fix objects in the lots all around the neighbourhood would be very interesting :D Especially if he is kleptomaniac.

A new job that I wouldn't mind having is teaching.

I like all the suggestions here. I remember in Sims 1, when you started out as an actor, you had to wait tables first and work your way up from there. It's pretty typical in Hollywood, isn't it? Haha. I really do want a couple of showbusiness ones. Wouldn't be awesome if when your sim gets famous enough, they would appear on the billboards in San Myshuno? Modelling and acting would be good for that. Maybe when they get high enough in their career, they get a photoshoot and those photos will be on the billboards. I'm not sure how easy that would be to program that though.

Lawyers should have a barrister and judge branch. Another one I want is photographer and newscaster. I think the news anchor should have charisma skill to get promoted. What else does everyone else think they should have?

Teachers are essential. Real estate agents, film directors (maybe a film career that branches into either actor or director?)

I know sims freeplay is a totally different team, but in that, they have a teen idol quest and I think only one teen in the entire game can get to the top. The number of sims is quite limited in that game though, but maybe two would be a good number to get to the top? Then they can be rivals. What does everyone think?

I want to see all of the NPC jobs that are not currently playable opened up for played sims, and see a few of those unlocked as active careers.

I want better pizzas added so that I can run a pizzeria and send my employees out on delivery orders.

I want all of the careers from TS2 back, like Architecture, Education, Law, Military, Natural Scientist, Oceanography, Paranormal, and Slacker!

I too would like to be able to have my sims work NPC careers. I want my sims to be a mailman, a plumber, an electrician, a maid, a pizza delivery person, and a nanny, I wish those could be active careers for our played sims.

Out of the ones mentioned so far, I feel like childcare would be the easiest to impliment as an active career. Toddlers and children so far have had the most updates to them so it would be easy to form a job around that. And we already have nannies, so we already have the uniforms and stuff. And it would be kinda neat to take care of one your other households as a nanny Sim.

Same could be said for maids, butlers, or gardeners. Even works well with the checklist system they use for the careers too. Feed kids, wash dishes, etc.

That's not really the sort of career I would want to play, but it's the most practical for them to add in. Maybe a Community Action Center hub (like the police station) where townies come in and hire your Sim (or you could convince them to hire you), and then you go to their house as said gardener, maid, nanny, or butler.
Live, laugh and love. Life's too short not to.

I want more jobs like those who came with CL. Not fully active careers like GTW maybe was the checklist system but i've never liked GTW careers. But I want to interact with my sims at work.
