oh @kimartist such a wonderful village! I'm so glad you built it up again and followed your new ideas I love all the houses and especially the fountain and Santas Corner is a great idea too.
@CaramelLibra29 oh what a cute family, how the boy is looking and mommy seems to like sweets and after this awesome dessert challenge we all know she's dead right living in the north
@StangMix2 a lovely family so great they have pets! (every thing in life is better with pets) while playtesting my village I had a Alaskan Malamute too
@Liziann1 such a gorgeous name for your sweet family
Northern Lights looks so very pretty! @kilra0 Very nice layout of the build! The exterior of the buildings, the way the rocks have been used, and the different levels of the village looks so very nice! The large Christmas tree looks very nice on the upper level near the Church. The exterior design of the Church reflects so very well a Village Chapel! , It looks very nice! Very nice furnishing of the interior of the Church . It looks very nice how the pews have been set up on each side of the aisleway, and the wreaths and candles add a very special look to the front area of the Church . Very nice outdoors dancing and bar area! Sims will enjoy dancing to the dj booth music on the chequered dance floor, and having a drink from the bar. The string lights look very pretty in the Village. Santa and his reindeers look great on the roofing of one of the buildings! The snow looks nice covering the trees in the build. Very elegantly nice outdoors dining area nook! The white dining tables and candles on top of them looks very nice! Sims will enjoy eating and drinking food and drinks from the buffet table, whilst listening to the piano being played. The Christmas toy shop looks great! The nutcrackers , gnomes and snowmen look great how they have been placed on the display shelves. Very nice angled sofa seat sitting nook in one of the living rooms! The pictures look great how they have been placed on the walls there.
There are many very special features of your very nice Christmas Village!
Absolutely gorgeous, @kilra0! I'm so impressed that you managed to make a believable looking Santa in a sleigh! And that sunken ice-palace restaurant/party room is incredible!!! And a church--of course! I was just wondering what my own village-in-progress was missing. Only the whole reason for the holiday!
love @rosemow it's incredible that you always spot so many details in each build! You are awesome! I thought a dancing area could be a great idea to warm up especially for those who can't ice skating The dining area is indoors, I had an ice cave in my mind and did some research if there are any ice sculptures except the lama to create it.
@Ainsleyf so glad you like it too. After seeing yours I was so demotivated for my own build and the cave is one of my favourite places to. I wish we had some more winter stuff like skiers, ice sculptures and so on. Would be nice to see sims ice skating
@Oliana thank you too. I ask my self if anyone of your sims would follow this incredibly crazy tradition of ice bathing? ...uhm I think I need more cake... How about yours? Do you take part in this challenge? Would love to see one more of your creative designs
@carolynrosser aww great that I could help you! Love this forum, it gets us all to better builders I'm looking forward to your village and hope that your playtesting will be better than mine. My cat lost it's head and furniture wasn't visible anymore after using them. Maybe I forgot to feed the housegnom
My other outside decorating is done ! I have to finish decorating the houses, etc. outside and do all the inside decorating --- as well as a tiny bit more work besides decorating. I'll be done in 1 or 2 days, I think !
@coolsim9999999 I would finish in a day or two if I didn't have job or kids! haha. You guys are too fast
I made some progress last night, got a few more shells up, so starting to get the layout etc finalized, but still much to do. No idea if I will finish for Christmas, with all the other Christmas related things to take care of as well. hehe
@Laebeth --- I totally understand that it would take you longer to finish a build because of your kids and job --- especially because of all the RL Christmas stuff for kids ! I hope you finish in time --- but I'd love to see even if you finish after the deadline.
Hi All!!! I Have Never Built A "Snow Themed" Build......... Can Someone Tell Me How To Get Snow Implemented In This Challenge? I Know Of The Tile To Use... But That's About All... & For Trees The White ( Spa Day ) Item .... But How Do You Make The Snow Banks Or Make It Look Like Snow Banks? LOL If Anyone Could Help I'd Love To Do This Challenge -- Been Looking For Something To Do For A Christmas Themed Lot & This Looks FUN!!!! Any Tips ? Thanks Happy Holidaysssss!!!

Hello @coolsim9999999 It is great that the other outside decorating is finished! I hope that the rest of your work on the build goes smoothly. I will look forward to seeing your Village!

Hello @Laebeth It is great that you are making progress with the build! It is busy time of the year! I hope that you will continue to have short times in all the busyness of your real life to enjoy some time simming
So, this is not a WIP photo, but this gives you an idea of what sort of look and feel I am going for. A bit of that old English village feel with tudor style homes. I think all the main buildings are in place now, and I was working on the interior of the church last night
EDIT: A few weeks ago I drove past Haslum Church near where I live. I drive by there every week when I take the kids swimming. I was thinking to myself it would be fun to replicate it in the Sims, and then suddenly remembered this new challenge had just been posted and thought it would be a great fit! haha. And since the church is quite simple, I wanted to keep the village quite simple too. So that's how I ended up here I've only kept the shape and general look of the building, everything else is just me. Including changing the exterior to stone walls. hehe
