My old as dirt computer no longer runs The Sims 4 let alone The Sims Medieval -insert dramatic violin music-. I need a new desktop. But, I can not go over $1,000. I've been looking around but I don't know what would be good.
I did find this one at Wal-Mart. Could this run them?

Chester said it should last through the completion of the game and this company doesn't use generic components.
ETA: Chester said there might be some stutter in San Myshuno and bigger lots. She seemed to think it's more a game thing than a computer thing.
Most desktops do not include a monitor.
However monitor's are not expensive

Do not buy all in one as they are not designed for gaming and will overheat very easily.. they also cannot be upgraded.
The link you provided is way too underpowered for the game.

Okay, so a friend of mine bought this
https://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-Pavilion-Power-580-023w-Gaming-Tower-Intel-Core-i5-7400-NVIDIA-GTX-1060-3GB-Graphics-8-GB-Memory-1TB-Hard-Drive-Windows-10/803136621?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227126255287&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=234317200727&wl4=pla-384292750307&wl5=9010237&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=803136621&wl13=&veh=sem
And they ran the Sims 4 with a lot of add ons and it ran smoothly with no problems. I was thinking about getting this. Unless there's a better option.
Those specs themselves will play The Sims 4 just fine at Ultra. But it is an HP which concerns me a bit. I would look up reviews of that desktop before you may decide to get it to see if it at least has good cooling. If you want/need any upgrades down the road in 2-3 years your options may be limited. You may want to build custom or if you don't want/can't do that, try looking for a custom brand in which case I would recommend asking Chester for that
Intel Core i7 7700HQ 2.8-3.8GHz
16GB DDR4 RAM
128GB SSD
1TB 7200RPM HDD
NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1050 TI 4GB
Rogers Ignite 70u internet
HP's are hard to upgrade and have bad cooling. Talk to @chesterbigbird since she is a build expert.
If you buy it, then be prepared for possible overheating and expect to not upgrade it. So in other words use it like a laptop once it gets outdated then it's useless.
It will not take nicely to upgrades so it's not a very good investment. Also the lack of ventilation and cooling is of concern playing a game that does heat the cpu up more then other current games.

If you want to know the old as dirt computer I'm on right now is this:
Dell Inspiron 537s
Processor: Pentium (R) Dual Core CPU
3GB RAM
ATI Radeon 4300/4500 Series card
Also, @chesterbigbird the link you provided, it does have a cooling system right? Sorry for so many questions?
It should have at least 2 fans included.. but you would be able to add more if need be.
I have no idea what monitor your Dell come with. Do you connect with DVI or VGA cable? I doubt it would be HDMI. Do you know the resolution? Check you resolution by looking at windows display options.

And about the cord thing. Well, the best way I can describe it. I believe it's a VGA connector (It's blue) and it's connected to a white connector thing which is plugged into the back of the tower.
Yep it VGA. You can get a VGA to dvi adapter. It might be possible for their to be a adapter with that computer.
You will need a VGA to HDMI adapter or VGA to DVI
However your resolution is that low that to really make use of a new gaming pc then i would save for a 1080p Monitor.
You can get a 1080p monitor for as little as $100.
With the connector i think you may need the VGA to HDMI because some of the cards do not come with DVI
So you will need this :

And if you buy a 1080p monitor you will need this

But some monitors will come with a cable.

Once I save up enough money that is. Would that monitor work with it?
It will work
The monitor has DVI/HDMI/VGA ports, The graphics card inside the desktop will most likely have HDMI, so you will just need to purchase the HDMI cable
