Aaaw, thank you so much for your sweet review of the clinic and the family for it @rosemow ! And so sorry I missed your earlier comment, I was busy posting about the clinic here and in the QC topic. And no worries, it took me weeks to make this build, I would never expect someone to post on every detail of it, you have already highlighted so many of the features I'm proudest of, so I'm beyond grateful. Thank you for taking a closer look at the gazillion screenshots I posted, I know there were a lot hehe, hope you had fun looking at them.
Your vet is amazeballs! I love it! There's even a separate cubicle in the lavatories with a litter-box inside, ha ha!!! I really admire the level of detail put into this... My Sim's a vet but unfortunately he won't be able to legitimately afford this building. Ha ha!
Also, those Sims... Why are your Sims always so hawt...
Hehe, thank you so much @PeterTheSims3 ! There's even a little cat door leading into the bathroom as well, that was so much fun to put in as a lil' extra funsy detail. Lolz, and I can imagine! The vet clinic equipment is really expensive, so it's gonna be a while for any sim to be able to afford a clinic like the ones in the challenge.

I adore how you've done the exterior, it looks so charming, the main level with the Vet Clinic is perfect, I wish our vets looked like this! And the little apartment with the office in the tower, Kathyrn, Marshall, Cleo and Boomer all look perfect, I am sure they'll all be very happy with their new home.

Golden Paws Vet Clinic is just Gorgeous! Love the architecture, especially the open turret with the bird houses. So Pretty! Nice work with the training grounds! I haven't tried out that equipment in game yet. Can sims really teach their pet dogs to swim? I really should play more. Awesome work with the clinic! Love their offices and all the cool clutter. You always manage to make your rooms look so inviting and 'lived in'. The apartment is lovely and once again, I'm really loving the (research) room in the tower. I must have a thing for turrets, huh? It really is a beautiful build, Wim!

Hi @WrathofCath ! I'm so sorry I only saw your message just now! I hope your surgery went well, your recovery is going smoothly and you were able to enjoy a lovely Christmas day with your family too. Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my sims and my clinic! I don't think sims can teach dogs to swim (that would be cool though! ), but they can swim together with them in the pool which is sooo cute! With such a huge portion of the backyard left, and because dogs could use a pool, I decided to use it for that, and since this one was a clinic and my sim loves dogs, I imagined he would use it to teach dogs to swim. Haha, think I'm developing a thing for turrets too, especially after they added the new roof types in the Cats & Dogs patch, so this won't be the last tower you'll see from me.
Ok, update time! Trying to keep to one of my good intentions for the new year already: keep my showcase up to date! I will be busy the next few months with both a new job and my studies, so I probably won't have many uploads, especially even fewer builds than I already had lolz, so keeping it up to date should not be too difficult. But before looking to the new year, here are a bunch of sims that were already in my Gallery but had yet to make their appearance over here.
Up first is Tarzan in the City! I was invited to a challenge on the Gallery that asked for sims with the scale of the eyes set to maximum. Now thinking of large eyes, I immediately think: Disney characters! So I revisited my Tarzan sim, changed him up quite a bit and as an extra twist, gave him a wardrobe that would fit a modern, city living type of sim.
Gallery story: Just imagine Tarzan would have left the jungle behind, and what if he would also live in the present, what would he look like, how would he dress? :-) Made for the Bigeyeschallenge by Peoplearesimstoo. When challenged to make a sim with the max eye size, I immediately thought: Disney characters! So here is my modern sim version of Tarzan, from the 1999 Disney movie. :-)
Christiano is my next sim inspired by the Cats & Dogs EP, this time around imagining a guy with the playful, independent character of a cat lolz.
Gallery story: Christiano is a Flirty wild Cat and a total Party Animal. He's been hurt by love too many times so his heart right now belongs to his beloved furry critters, his cats. Maybe one day someone will make him fall in love again, but beware: cats don't like to share.
Throw together the expressions 'Loyal like a dog' and 'puppy eyes look' and you'll get a sim like Liam.
Gallery story: Liam was incredibly shy as a kid, but growing up he started to notice certain things. He can put a spell on anyone he lands those baby blue eyes on, and curling those brows and lips into the perfect puppy-wants look, nobody is able to deny him anything. So can you blame him for becoming a pretty Self Assured and Ambitious Guy, certainly now that CatsAndDogs put the cherry on top with that curly hairstyle!
Dominick Sincero aka 'How to get 1000 in a day' Gallery Link
There's been a worrying trend on the Gallery lately, and it is getting worse by the minute. A few players have figured out a loophole in the downloads counter of uploads and can cheat on their total downloads. What that means is that they can manipulate the downloads number of their own uploads. Now cheating like that already sits badly with me, but what that also means is that they constantly dominate the popular lists of the gallery without actually creating popular uploads. I used to like to browse the popular lists on the Gallery as it was a great way to encounter talented creators that you didn't know yet or find new creators who just had their first breakthrough creation. And from there it was fun to start following them, support them and see what they would come up with next. It is how I found the majority of simmers I'm currently following on the Gallery.
Now with the download cheating possible, it is always the same, small group of people who have all their creations on the popular lists, not because their creations are actually popular, but because they are giving themselves hundreds of downloads, pushing aside creations that are actually, honestly on the lists because hundreds of people are downloading those. At the moment, the popular lists have become useless, and a small number of people are manipulating them so they are the only ones who are constantly in the spotlights, outside of the Maxis Fav's.
A number of simmers who have been on the Gallery for a long time and care deeply about the community, and its integrity and honesty have found out how this download manipulation is achieved and have handed over the evidence to EA customer service, asking to look into it and hoping they would change how the Gallery works so that this download cheating is no longer possible. Back in October they said they would look into it, but no further word on the issue has been uttered.
To create awareness to the issue in the community, simmers KassSimsDesign and Glovely1 posted sims on the Gallery with the title 'How To Get 1000 (downloads) in a Day'. A bunch of us supporting their message and call for change copied the title and uploaded our own sims. My contribution is my simmie Dominick Sincero. Sincero as in sincere and honest, something I would love the Gallery to become again. I tried to give him a tough guy look (no messing with the Dom! ) and he turned into an artistic sim (though most people saw a rock star in him lolz, works too ).
Gallery story: Who knows? The answer is ... make work your little fingers on the keyboard all day. My support to KassSimsDesign's truthful message and my plea to stop the downloads cheating to make the Gallery an honest, fair and fun place for everyone to hang out again!

Following our 'How to get a 1000 in a day' uploads, a few people suggested that others got their thousands of downloads not through cheating, but because they used popular word combinations in the titles of their uploads that people would search for. These include titles like 'hot guy', 'handsome boy', 'sexy girl' etcetera. Especially since hashtags using those words didn't work anymore (luckily those have been restored now! ), it was suggested people now use title search instead of hashtag search to find what they were looking for. So this called for a little experiment and testing! Others uploaded sims with other 'popular' title searches, I chose to launch Enzo here with the 'Hot guy' title, and added the basegame part should people look for that as well.
And well, comparing with all the other similar uploads, the results were, as they say, inconclusive. Some did really well, like Enzo, others didn't perform better than similar sims without those titles. Now that hashtags have been restored, this experiment is mostly void, but oh well, at least I had fun creating yet another Italian brother for my Tornatore sims family.
Gallery story: Enzo is helping me test out a little theory a few of us think won't hold up, we'll see. But hey, while he's at it, this Active, Athletic sim may help out your sims if they need a lil' push at the gym, or you can just let him wander through your game as a #Townie.
Part two of the experiment lolz, but mostly this was a sim I made after I got the Luxury SP and this hairstyle reminded me of one of my youth idols from when I was a kid. If anyone remembers lolz, there was this bad boy heartthrob character on the tv show Beverly Hills 90210, named Dylan McKay that I loved haha, so I based this sim on him. Never was the intention to make him look exactly like him, but one that captured a similar vibe, if that makes sense.

And today I figured, on Christmas Day, I deserved a little break, so got back in game after about two weeks to create, not one, but two Santa Claus simmies! Up first is the classic version. I really wanted to go for a classic Christmassy red-and-white outfit, but since the only appropriate hat already had green in, I added that to the mix as well.

Gallery story: Since the freebies in the latest patch celebrates Christmas in Australia, I figured Santa was in need of a Cool MakeOver; can't be wearing his usual SantaClaus outfit DownUnder and get any work done lolz, waaay too Hot for that. ;-) And taking Cooler a few steps further, he somehow got aged down to a YoungAdult too. ;-) So meet CoolSanta, or well, SurfSanta haha as I like to call him.
