A while back
@rosemow suggesting starting a requests thread after I enjoyed very much taking on a request from
@Amiutza. It allowed me to try a build I might never have otherwise. And as I'm certain most builders are aware of, it is always a nice feeling to build houses, etc. for others
So I figured it might be cool to have a thread where people could make requests and various builders could fulfil them (sorry if something like this already exists, I tried searching but could not see any).
Anyway, that's all
Enjoy!

@Rumpelstiltskin I wouldn't mind making such a house I have the toddler stuff pack! It is one of the few packs I have because I adore toddlers haha. I must admit though I'm not that familiar with building starters or what you mean by family-oriented. I usually never even consider the cost of a build while I am building haha. Maybe you could give me some guidelines like size, budget, and build style? Do you want something from a certain time period for instance? Thanks!

I mean a starter usually needs to cost 18-22k depending on the location/size of the family but obviously if it was too hard a budget I could make 28-30k max work if needed, and they'll just have to shift their weight a lil!
The lot size would be a smaller one for a starter, so one of free places in OS like 20 x 30, I think!
On another note, this seems fun, I shall be lurking around until time is right! owo xD

@Rumpelstiltskin So if I understand correctly you're looking for a modern style starter with toddler stuff in mind? I can work with that

I call it When Baroque met Modern. I haven't linked it to the Gallery because there's some pathing I must fix. I took a ton of pictures below haha, if you know of how to fix any of the pathing, please let me know.
@Rumpelstiltskin I can get started on your starter now finally haha
Standard view: Here's the first pathing issue. Sims cannot get into either of the two garden nooks. This is the weirdest pathing issue, and I'm not sure what is going on with it. It might be caused by the ground being covered by lily of valley squares, but I know for a fact that sims can walk over this grass. What's even weirder is if I remove one of the lily of the valley squares from under the right arch, then the sim can go and walk to the bench and sit, just 1 square... so weird.
Back view:
Night view:
Garden nook with waterfall, one of my favourite parts, took forever to make, but alas sims cannot get to it at the moment haha:
Other garden nook:
Front and rear roof accents, these were definitely my favourite part of the entire build, just adore that European style of building statues into the exterior walls. Can also see the balconies here with a sitting and meditation area, quiet places to get away from all the bustle going on outside. The front accent I call the Winged Ballerina, and the rear the Winged Knight haha (yes I got super excited when I saw an item that could work as wings from Dine Out, and could work as waves! I couldn't decide between wings or waves so now they are wings with ships sailing on them haha):
Now for the inside! Which goes to ultra-modern style. First the dining area:
The super long kitchen:
The theatre-esque living room. Here's the next patching issue. Sims cannot turn on the tele or sit in the raised chairs. I'm guessing raising a chair with 9/0 makes it unusable so I know how to fix that. My question for the tele is, I built it on the foundation to look cool, but it seems like that means sims cannot use it. Is there a way to make this work? Do I need to build stairs somewhere? It isn't like sims actually walk up to the tele to turn it on, so I'm very confused why pathing matters here.
Ground floor parlour bathroom:
Overview of ground floor:
First floor aerial, decided a colour scheme felt like it fit the modern style haha:
Guest bedroom:
Children's room, ideal for fraternal twins haha. Or just anyone who likes cute wall bunnies
Second floor overview, here's the last pathing issue. Sims cannot seem to move around in the music nook area. It seems to be the circular chandeliers, which is annoying because they fit so well and I didn't want to have to remove them. Any idea why they block pathing being on the ceiling?
Also I built windows in the gable accent roofs, but it doesn't seem like there's a way to connect a roof wall with actual walls so that the floor could use those windows. I recall in sims 3 we could do this. Is there a way to do so in sims 4?

I also realised that oasis springs isn't built in the modern style haha. I never played any families there so I just went by all the modern builds people make there. It seems to favour the Mediterranean style which is awesome, because I never built in that before and I always enjoy new styles. Am I correct in assuming that's the style you'd like for a starter?
@kilra0 Thank you! I'm interested by what you mean by inspiring haha. It sounds like you might try the Baroque style in which case I would definitely like to see what you build! I feel like not many people make builds in the French Baroque/Renaissance/Neoclassical styles and so I'm happy to get builders to see how cool it is to build haha.

Various build challenge
As you can see I'm not used to building starters haha. It seemed small at first but then the windows and all just skyrocketed the cost. I did create a nice little toddler hangout in the back though

Haha no worries, the design of the build is really pretty! I love the little archway you’ve built in by the car, it’s really fitting with the style too! And the toddler area is really well incorporated! ☺️

Anyway, here is the Gallery Link: When Baroque Met Modern
Pictures below!
Story of the house:
When Ms. #Baroque met Mr. #Modern it was amour at first sight! But they couldn't decide on a style, thus a compromise: buy a Baroque house and replace the inside with ultra-#contemporary furnishings! Who wants #17thcentury appliances anyway? Ms. Baroque, though, couldn’t give up her beloved style and snuck in a #Parisian #woman-cave! #noCC #French #Renaissance #mansion #family #flowerbed #undergroundpool #hometheatre #balcony #openfloorplan #waterfall #statues #playtested #winecellar #attic
Because women can have man-caves too, but just classier! Now, however, the quirky couple has moved to the French country and their home is yours to explore and take care of! There are many small details to delight your sims in ever nook and cranny. This is likely the most detailed build I have ever attempted. I wanted to go for a clashing styles theme, modelled after the many old buildings in Europe that have recently been renovated inside. In my pictures I placed the lot in the middle of an urban area, however, I imagine it would work well in a more country lot as a decadent maisonette. Enjoy!
Note that you do NOT have to have MOO on to place the lot. I tried both with and without and everything places the same way
(Apologies again for all the pictures, I’m trying to work on my picture taking abilities in general, with lighting, angle, zoom, height, location, etc. Feels like I’m getting a tad better since last time haha).

Overview of basement floor. This part is quite cool because this is where the "woman-cave" is haha, which is the only Baroque style indoors. I created a path which splits to Baroque on one side and modern on the other, which I felt symbolised the build overall quite well haha. And of course there's the wine cellar, which is always good lol:

Oh wow I love it! Much prefer the outdoor changes you've made too! The pond is a great idea - That seems like an awful lot for 25k! Gonna prepare myself a family to move in there asap!
I called it Desert Toddlers Family Starter. Note, you must delete the chandelier, cars and toddler toys to get it to a starter price of 24k At the moment it is about 25.9k. It fits well into the style of Oasis Springs and I built it on the empty lot in the starter zone that costs 1500 (the desert sands lot not the grass one). Let me know how it works out for you and if you want to send me pictures of your family in it that would be awesome I saw your restaurants in your showcase btw and they were very cool!!
