Travel The World Game Packs

To be honest, I think a lot of people agree when it comes to World Adventures: It was fun, but at the same time, not something we really want to see as an expansion pack returning.

I'm a fan of it; I still go back and replay it. I liked some of the content. But at the same time... It just doesn't fit the feel of Sims 4.

So, I sat back and thought of how to do something similar, while at the same time making each trip actually worth it and a different experience. Here's what I came up with:

Travel The World: Egypt
Theme: Tomb Exploration

Sims travel to Egypt to help with an excavation of a tomb. They can open individual rooms in the tomb, loot the rooms for souvenirs, buy more souvenirs from a shop, and take home their loot to decorate their home with. Featuring a number of puzzles and traps for those of us who miss World Adventures. This is, pretty much, a straight-up WA-themed pack.

Travel The World: France
Theme: Nectar

France is hosting its annual nectar making contest, and sims from around the world are invited to come and compete to prove that they are truly the champions of making nectar. Sims may visit France and tour a nectary before purchasing the equipment necessary to make and age nectar at home. Once they have made their own nectar, they can travel back to France and enter in one of four contests, each a measure of skill and each with its own rewards:

Novice (1-3 Nectar Making skill): Winner gets a special nectar making machine that cuts nectar production time in half.
Amateur (4-6): Winner gets a special nectar aging rack that ages nectar twice as fast.
Expert (7-9): Winner gets a special spice rack that can be added to nectar to massively improve its quality.
Master (10): Winner has their nectar that won the contest show up in-game at home bars, and at bars and restaurants around the town, as an option to serve.

Travel The World: China
Theme: Sculpting

China is making a special tourist attraction based on the Terracotta Warriors, and has invited sculptors from around the world to compete for jobs to add to the attraction. A sim must master sculpting before traveling to China, where they will be able to submit their creations to the contest. The winner will unlock a special stand that allows them to sculpt their own Terracotta statues, using Create-A-Sim to adjust the model each statue is based on.

Travel The World: Brazil
Theme: Collecting

Brazil is hosting a special science summit to explore and catalogue life in the rainforest. Sims who travel to Brazil will be exploring the rainforest to find previously-undocumented species, each of which will earn that sim a plaque upon the exploration center's wall. A sim who manages to find everything unlocks a special statue for their home, as well as special planters to grow Brazil's plants in.

I look forward to any ideas others might have.

With a Travel the Worlds inspired pack, why not destinations we've never experienced in TS4? Worlds inspired on locations like Monte Carlos, Breckenridge and the Amazons.

Breckenridge is an extremely popular winter destination with a charming Victorian-era atmosphere. It would be the perfect world to introduce Nectar, since TS4 doesn't condone adult beverages. Breckenridge has several breweries and distilleries, so with TS4 winter world we could have Nectar Breweries. Sims could hit the slopes at a ski resort overlooking the charming town below and rent a mountain top cabin. Sims could even explore the abandoned gold and silver mines that Breckenridge was founded upon for relics and simoleons, or encounter the evil spirit of a gold tycoon millionaire who protects the treasures deep within.

Monte Carlos is absolutely beautiful. Our sims could travel to the Monte Carlos inspired world to gamble in the high-class casino, and wonder through the streets full of frescoes sculptures, astonishing gold and marble artriums. The architectural influence could be based on the French medieval villages and the Alps. Sims could also visit the Palace Theater to watch the opera or ballet, bask in the sun on the white sandy beach or dine on a private yacht right off the harbor and enjoy scuba diving. So things to do in this world would include- gambling, opera and ballet, swim in the ocean and scuba dive and travel to a hidden lot under water of an ancient underwater city. Sounds magical.

    Or Australia/New Zealand.

People want nectar? Australia produces better quality "Grape Juice" than France.
We also have a thing with bakeries. Every small town has one.
We've got some different foods to add to the game.
    • Meat pies with sauce.
    • Lamingtons.
    • Vanilla/custard slice
    • Vegemite on toast/ vegemite and cheese sandwich.
    • BBQ lamb

New Zealand could bring new themes to the game, or add a new twist to old ones.
    • Go swimming with dolphins
    • Explore limestone caves
    • Bungy jumping
    • Hot springs
    • Visit a forest where sea lions and penguins like to hang out.

I love everything related to travel, cultures and crafting!
Besides the different styles of trip, every destination could add local foods, and you should need to try first, to then learn the recipe.

I love your idea about Amazonas, I live in Brazil, but in big city, far away, thousands miles from Amazonas.
    Here's some ideas:

    Amazon Rainforest - Brazil
Besides everything you said, It should have some jungle lodge, at least one low-cost and one luxurious. Actually every destination should have different kinds of hotels.

    New foods:
    • Feijoada
    • Frango com Quiabo
    • Pão de Queijo
    • Tacacá
    • Acarajé
    • Brigadeiro
    • Açaí juice

    Champagne/Tuscany - France/Italy
To me, the best point of WA was the nectar making skill.
The wine nectar destination could be inspired in both. So you can produce nectar and sparkling nectar.

    New foods:
    • Tagliolini al Tartufo Bianco/Nero
    • Steak Tartare
    • Escargots
    • Truffled Foie Gras Ravioli
    • Magret/Confit de Canard
    • Artichoke
    • Beef Tenderloin with Foie Gras

    38371405842_450f4f0453_b.jpg

We also could collect and buy truffles, and add then to the foods, as well as produce truffle butters and creams.

    38403738021_6dc08def1e_c.jpg

And of course, a beach and a winter destination. With different kinds of hotels, that we could also own and manage, like resorts in TS3, and Restaurants and Vet Clinics in TS4.

    Beach Destination
Places to inspire: Bora Bora, Maldives, Fernando de Noronha, Seychelles, St. Barths, Turks and Caicos, St. Tropez, Amalfi, Sardinia, Mykonos.
Foods: Oysters, Scallops, King Crab, Spaghetti alle Vongole, Octopus, Shrimp with Sea Urchin and Caviar.
    38349249826_c0e5a03cca_b.jpg
We could have many caviar types (Beluga, Ossetra, Sevruga) to buy in this destination and use them to increase the recipes or just eat it pure.

    Winter Destination
Places to inspire: Aspen, St. Moritz, Zermatt, Courchevel.
    Food: Swiss Fondue.
    Skills: Skiing and Cheese Production.

This post is mouth-watering, sorry I'm a foodie.

I've always said that I think it's a real shame (not to mention a waste) that they gave us the ability to go on vacations, but we still only have one vacation world we can visit. My wish list is pretty simple. I just want a tropical location, a winter/ski location, and maybe a desert location.

Why not look at Australia as a destination? Our 'nectar' is apparently superior to what France produces.
We also make a lot of good yeasty brews, which would be something new for the game.

As long as they are worlds we can travel to at anytime, and not have to "Take a Vacation" for.

I really love this idea but to add on I would love to see hotels, resorts, motels, etc instead of the basecamps this time around, also I would love to see the ability for your Sims to own their own resorts in town so sims from other parts of the world can stay in your Sims town for vacation

I would also like to see at least 1 themed city from every country of the world added to the game, like one from Canada, France, Thailand, China, Japan, Egypt, Ireland, England, Scotland, Germany, Norway, etc

It would even be amazing to add some new professions like an airport profession, foreign affairs profession, and even a pilot, cruise ship captain type profession and travel agency profession!

For death types, I would still like to see mummies curse but also some new ones like leprechauns curse from an Irish destination, and maybe mountain climbing fail from the mountain destinations, and disease (I would love to see diseases that sims can get form travel destinations that become fatal if not cured in time, if get to work is installed then they can go to the hospital, diseases are very contagious and can affect every age group)

I would also love to see different modes of transit introduced like when your sim is flying to a destination by plane I would love to actually see them in a plane, and how about cruise ships? Sims can select a type of cruise which will take them to multiple countries (length depending on type of cruise) Like a European cruise (all European destinations), North Atlantic cruise (all Northern European and North American destinations), Pacific Cruise (All East Asian destinations), Carribean Cruise (Mexico, Central America, South America, Carribean), Middle Eastern Cruise (all middle eastern and Indian countries), and Indian Ocean cruise (Thailand, Malasia, Indonesia, Australia, Fiji)

Not asking for much, are you? :p
