    Build-n-Share Challenge #25

    #25 Summer Designer Showdown

    This Week’s Challenge Specifics:

It is that time again! Time to let your style truly shine and compete in the Summer Designer Showdown! You will all decorate the same shell for this challenge. This time, it’s all about Design and Landscaping.

We saw some amazing results and even some favorited lots with the past showdowns, so heat things up even more this time and dazzle the masses with your designer magic. You have 2 full weeks for this challenge, so pay attention to detail and make those lots beautiful!

But, wait, there is a twist!

You must choose ONE inspiration object to base your design on. It can be ANY object from ANY category of the catalogue! In your media, the first picture in your slideshow should be of your inspiration object. It does not have to be a literal translation of the object, so please describe in the "Entry Details" section of the entry form how you drew inspiration from the object you chose.

    This is the house:

    5c4b352f-3ecc-4c89-bdf1-eceb976c56e6_zpsmiejzwap.jpg

Download from the Gallery - BnS25 Designer Showdown (#BnS25)

    Rules and details:
•You can designate the rooms however you like, but your outcome should be a 3 bedroom house with 2 bathrooms.
•You cannot change the size or location of foundations, exterior walls, and roofing.
•Yes, all exterior walls, foundations, and roofing sizes must remain the same.
•You can, however, add INTERIOR walls; as long as the home remains a 3bdr/2ba home.
•You can replace doors, windows, and stairs, but they have to remain in the same position (meaning if it's a 2 tile window, you have to replace it with a 2 tile window or 2 single tile windows, etc.) Doors CAN be replaced with an arch of the same size if desired.
•You can't change the roof shape, but you CAN change the texture and color, the pitch, add trim, adjust the curvature, etc.
•You can add structural elements for landscaping purposes, such as a greenhouse, gazebo, or a carport, but they cannot be attached to the main house.
•You CAN add a cover over the back porch that is attached to house if you wish.
•You CAN change, add or delete any fencing and columns.
•This must be on a 40x30 lot (can be placed in any neighborhood/world).
•THERE IS NO BUDGET! Have fun, and go crazy :D
•The theme is completely up to you. It does not have to be Summer themed - your house should reflect your inspiration object.
•You do not need any game packs to compete. The house was built with only base game elements.
•CC is allowed, but please list/link/credit them when you submit so that downloaders can find them!

Please use hashtag #BnS25 for your uploads.

A reminder, when you provide media for your build to allow us to give you feedback, please ensure that it is in the form of a slideshow. No videos please, as these make the process a lot more cumbersome.

Deadline: Wednesday 26th August, Midnight CMT.[/quote]

ENTRY DETAILS: I chose the 4 plumbob picture, it is my favourite from the Sims4. I thought it would be fun to include the colors in my build, it brought a uplifting build and I am pleased with it. From the outside it looks traditional and on the inside it just isn't what you expect, modern colourful and contemporary.

ENTRY DETAILS: My inspiration object was the "Martian Memories Landscape" picture in the decorations category. It's a picture of a beach and so I customised my home around a coastal theme. The lot is primarily made up of blue coastal colours as I thought this best represented the theme. The landscape has also been worked around a beach as the backyard consists of a pier coming off the house and two re purposed beach huts.
CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM: I would like to receive constructive criticism for my entry.
CREDIT FOR CC/RECOLORS: No CC used although my lot says it's modded - I think this is because I resized objects and used cheats such as moo, unlock objects and buydebug.

ENTRY DETAILS: used the Astro Model Rocket as inspiration for a family home of space travel and science enthusiasts. I tried to go for a modern feel in the interior with lots of space themed art. Used natural materials in places to contrast.
Edit - Just wanted to add that I left out the rocket on purpose as the idea is more about the dream of space travel than the reality. Also it's dark in places I know, I did add lighting but then it made areas just too bright were I wanted a darker feel I could have done better with this tho

The Alien Research Complex or A.R.C. is a facility designed specifically for scientific exploration and discovery. It features a medical bay and botany lab in the main building, as well as a telescope with a diagnostic lab at the rear of the complex. The main building also features a scanning chamber and sterilization alcove to keep the crew safe and secure. During downtime, said crew can enjoy themselves in the spa, lounge or mess hall - only after whipping up a gourmet meal in their state of the art kitchen with bar - or they can better themselves and their skills in the game chamber or fitness center. Build-n-Share Challenge #26

    #26 The Novelist

“Jade! How lovely to see you!” you exclaim. Going to the grocery store is always fun for you. You run into everyone at sometime or other it seems. In this case, it's literally. “Sorry for bumping your cart,” you apologize.

“Its okay,” the woman smiles back at you with lips painted wine red. “However you have the wrong sister.”

You step back, studying her. Emerald green eyes glitter in amusement at you, a deeper warmer look than Jade’s pale green business like stare. Instead of being pulled stylishly but efficiently back from her face, the sister’s raven hair curls romantically around her face and over her shoulders. Her dress, made of a rich burgundy velvet, is casually and elegantly Gothic in style. Otherwise, she’s identical to Jade Bloodclaw.

    “I’m sorry,” you say sheepishly.

“Not at all. Being identical twins, it happens all the time.” She moves her cart to the side to let someone else get by. “My name is Fire Bloodclaw.”

You shake hands with her, introducing yourself. Then a light bulb blinks on. “Fire Bloodclaw? The novelist? The one who wrote Empire of Jade?”

She laughs a throaty laugh, “The same. You’ve read it?”

“I haven’t. My assistant however raved about it. What brings you to town?”

“Change of atmosphere.” She smiles, “I was actually hoping to run into you at some point. My sister is delighted with the work you’ve done for her; and, trust me, Jade is incredibly hard to please when it comes to work.”

“Great to hear,” you smile, pleased at the compliment. You look around the store, realizing it was no place for a meeting. “Do you know Purr’s café?” you ask.

    “Who doesn’t?” Fire laughs.

“Why don’t we meet there and talk about what you’re looking for?” you suggest.

“Sounds great. Give me an hour to finish shopping?”

An hour later, the two of you are settled into one of the booths at Purrsia’s place. Unsurprisingly, there is a tray of blissfully delicious tapas sitting between the two of you. Fire smiles, “I knew Purrsia when I was in college. She and her sister lived in the same house we did. She did all the cooking to help pay for her rent. It was lovely.”

You grin, “I bet you ate better than the ramen noodle diet I lived on.”

Fire laughs, “If you didn’t mind being an experiment for new recipes, yes…But the experiments didn’t always work out. Those were the nights when Tums were greatly in demand.” She smiles, “Now, on to why I was hoping to talk to you.”

“Someplace to store your Tums?” you quip, making her chuckle again.

“Not quite. I’m looking for a home of my own. I’ve been living with Jade, but her apartment really isn’t my style. She’s the penthouse apartment kind. I’m more the secluded dramatic type.”

“So what kind of house are you looking for?” You pull out your ever present note book.

“Something with a beautiful view. Private. When I lose myself in my work, I hate being distracted by petty things like time of day or last time I ate something. It needs to be soothing…and, I shamelessly admit, fairly luxurious in terms of comfort. I never know where I’ll end up writing.

I need at least 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. And if you can squeeze it in, a new computer. State of the art please. My old one fried itself this morning, and I’m using Jade’s computer…something else that is not conducive to concentration. I'll need a decent entertainment center, and, of course, a library. I love stories in all forms.”

“None of that is out of reach. Can you give me two weeks?”

“Sure. I have a book tour coming up soon anyway. Oh, and I have 75,000 saved for this build.”

“Excellent.” You reach for the check, only to have her lightly bat your hand away.

    “My treat,” Fire insists.

    Challenge Brief:
75k budget (add gallery and lot cost together)
    2 bedrooms, 2 bath
Secluded lot with a beautiful view
    Library
    State of the art laptop
    Decent entertainment center
    Luxurious surroundings

    Sim Challenge:
Make Fire, who is a Hopeless Romantic, Friendly, and Flirty. Show her enjoying her new home.

    Room Challenge:
Library - create a decked out library that any novelist will love. You have an additional 5,000 for this room if you enter the room challenge.

    Build-n-Share Challenge #27

    #27 Ryunoten, Attorneys at Law

The intercom beeps at your desk, startling you out of concentration. “Ah, yes Rose?”

Hearing the faint quaver in your voice, Rose suppresses a giggle and chirps, “Your 4:30 is here. Shall I send them back?”

“Um, yes. Go ahead.” You manage to recover your dignity, making sure to save your work carefully, before there is a polite knock on the door. You stand up with a smile, as a man and a woman enter the room.

The woman is lovely, with a mass of coiled copper braids pinned at the back of her neck and large soft coloured eyes. Her willowy figure is clad in an lady-like business suit of sky blue. Following her in, his hand gently on the small of her back, is a handsome man that could only be described as Prince Charming with an Asian touch. His blonde hair is slightly longer than custom and his equally sleek frame is clad in a slate grey suit that compliments his companion’s.

They make a very stunning couple, an impression confirmed when he holds his hand out, “Michael Ryunoten. This is my wife Evangeline.”

You shake hands with a smile, “Its lovely to meet you. I understand that you’re both lawyers?”

Evangeline smiles, a soothing gentle smile that relaxes you even further, “Yes. Michael specializes in business law. I have been fortunate enough to be hired as the new district attorney here in town.”

"Congratulations!” you say, offering them both something to drink.

“Thank you,” she says, locking eyes with you for a few moments. With an oddly sleepy wonder, you realize that her eyes are slowly changing from one pastel colour to another.

“Jesus Wu is an old friend of mine,” Michael says, startling you out of your sleepy hypnosis, “He recommended you.”

You smile with pleasure, remembering the dashing Mr. Wu and his fire engine red GTO. “So you’re looking for a house as well?” you ask.

Evangeline shakes her head, sipping at the tea she requested in place of coffee. “Not yet, but definitely we are going to consult you about that later. We are staying at Jesus’s home and we love what you have done. For now, we are more interested in asking you to build us an office.”

“Not a problem,” You click your pen and prepare to take notes, “What would you like?”

“Two separate offices, but in the same building, as we share a legal library,” Michael says. “I’ll be taking clients there, so I’ll need a lobby and/ or reception area. Dream will be primarily working at the Courthouse, but when she’s not there she needs to have some place to work.”

“Dream?” you ask, a bit confused.

She smiles fondly at her husband, “Dream is my nickname. My maiden name was Keeper.”

“Ahhh. And what would you like in your office?”

“Oh, the usual office accoutrements. If you could include a comfortable couch and decorate it in restful colours, I would be very satisfied.”

“That’s easily accomplished,” you assure her.

Michael speaks up again, “We want to be close to the centre of town, but have a more suburban feel to it. I want people to feel comfortable and at ease coming to talk to me. Oh, parking of course, and some landscaping. I don't want it too look too sterile on the exterior. I think that’s everything. Sweetie?" he asks, deferring to his wife.

She thinks for a few moments, ticking off a few additional points on her fingertips. We need someplace a little less formal where we can entertain clients. I'd really love a rooftop retreat if you can work that in. And I think that covers everything,” she concludes with a smile.

“I do have one question we haven’t covered," you interject. What budget will I be working with for this project?”

“Well, since its not a large office we’re looking for,” Evangeline says, gently setting her tea cup on the tray, “We set aside $60,000 from our budget. Will that be sufficient?”

“Should be fine.” You rise and shake hands with them again, “I’ll get a contract emailed over to you by tomorrow night.”

    Build-n-Share Challenge #28

    #28 Techno...What?

    This Week’s Challenge Specifics:

“Rose?” You call over the intercom, preparing to ask her a question.

“Yes it is the time you are suppose to have the meeting. No, she isn’t here yet. No she hasn’t called.” Rose says with an amused chuckle. She knows you so well.

“Oh. Well. Thanks.” Glancing at your clock, you shrug, and try to pass the waiting time with a game of solitaire. As you struggle to find a place to put that black 8, an icon flashes up on your screen.

“Tchnobabbl16 wants a chat.” you read, before looking very confused. “What?” Hesitantly, you click the accept icon. After a few minutes, during which a program you didn’t know you had updates, a window opens and a young lady smiles at you.

She has black hair liberally streaked with candy pink, matching her candy pink lipstick. Her vibrantly green eyes peer at you through candy pink frames. “Sorry I’m late for the appointment. I was hoping to get out of class in time to meet with you, but I got hit with a last minute assignment. My name is Tashira Nuvalis.” At seeing your confused expression and not getting a response she rolls her eyes and smiles again. “First time on video chat? Just speak up. Your computer has a built in microphone.”

“Right. Its nice to meet you Miss Nuvalis.” You say, struggling to regain some dignity. “What can I do for you?”

“I need a new place. I heard you’re the best, so I came to you.”

“Okay. Will it be you and your parents?” you ask diplomatically.

She sighs, as if exasperated with that question. “No. I’m emancipated. Mom and Step-dad live in Appaloosa Plains. I hate the country. Since I make enough money as a comic book author and YouTuber, I decided to beat feet. My grandmother left me 20k to get started.”

You nod, pulling out pen and paper. “What would you like?”

“An apartment in a city. At least 1 bedroom. Need the basics and a place to write and film my vlogs.” She thinks, “Downtown would be perfect if you could manage it. If it’s too expensive I don’t mind going a little further out. But no suburbs!”

“That sound doable. Any other preferences?”

“Well my favourite colour is pink and I love watching the sunset, so a balcony would be nice, but not required. I can’t think of anything else.” She says, toying with a pen. Suddenly a bell rings, making you both jump. “Crud. That’s the bell. I have to go. When would my new place be ready?”

“Give me 2 weeks.” You assure her confidently. You’ve done harder things in 2 weeks.

“Great. See ya!” The window closes, leaving you alone in your office. After jotting down some notes, you head out to tell Rose about this unusual appointment.

    Challenge Brief:

    1 bedroom, 1 bath

    Build-n-Share Challenge # 29

    #29 The Lady In White

    This Week’s Challenge Specifics:

When you first met Lady Augusta Blanche, you couldn't actually swear that she walked in. Ethereal and pale, she had smiled at you in a way that was sweetly wistful. You leapt up shook her hand, surprised at how delicate it seemed to be, and how cold. Her blue eyes had almost seemed to glow they were so light and her hair was the color of weak candlelight. Only the fact that you briefly felt her pulse against your hand when you shook hers assured you that she as alive.
Now she was gone and you are tipped back in your chair, marveling at the odd assortment of people who come into your life looking for a home. And Lady Blanche was no different.

"I am looking for a graceful home, suitable for spending the rest of my eternity there. It needs to have at least 4 bedrooms, a sitting room/ music room, parlor, living room and lovely kitchen. Quality and beauty are bywords for me, so the furnishings must be top notch." She told you, elegantly positioned in the chair across from you. "Servants quarters are required. I seek a wall around the yard, which must be generous, as I am a very private person. I work primarily at night so there must be curtains at the windows in the bedroom."

All of that seemed reasonable to you, even if she would not tell you what she did for a living. What threw you was the request for a graveyard or mausoleum to be included in the back yard. Here she had turned all misty eyed and dreamy, looking like something off of the cover of a romance novel. "My beloved husband needs somewhere to rest during the day and his gravestone needs a proper setting to ensure his best sleep...."

"Your husband is...dead?" You asked cautiously, more than a little creeped out now.

"Yes, but not gone. He comes to me every night and we live in the perfect joy and love we shared before his little...indiscretion." The pretty smile she gave looked just a trifle unbalanced to you now. There was no way on earth you were going to ask what she meant by indiscretion.

You had assured her that this could all be done in a couple weeks, making her smile brilliantly before drifting from your office like a ghost. You were not sorry to see her go...

    Brief:
4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, sitting/music room, parlor, living room, kitchen.
    High quality furniture.
    large walled in yard
Graveyard or Mausoleum in the yard

ENTRY DETAILS: I felt Lady Augusta Blanche to be a practical woman with old fashioned tastes. That's why I have included hardly any entertainment technology in the home with the exception of the office room, space is left in office for whatever secretive equipment she may need too. I wanted it to feel like a home that would stand strong against the test of time, a bit of research into historical old houses inspired me to build in Tudor Castle style with a more homely front. Somewhere that looked attractive but could hold up to unwanted visitors.

    Build’n’Share Challenge #30

    #30 Ryunoten, Attorney's At Home

“What a refreshing change,” you murmur to yourself as you walk up the path to the recently completed offices of the Ryunotens. Usually, your clients come to you, but since scheduling was tight, you were visiting them. Plus it was a chance to see your handiwork in action, so to speak.

You step inside, scanning the premises. With approval, you note how much better it looks with someone sitting in the waiting room and a receptionist at the desk. It projects exactly what you want it to, bringing a sense of pride and happiness to you.

“You look very pleased,” says a familiar male voice from behind you. Michael Ryunoten, Prince Charming in a lawyer's suit, smiles at you. “Sorry, I wasn’t here when you got in. Dream is at the courthouse and left her wallet behind. I hope you weren’t waiting long.”

“I just got here myself,” you assure him.

    “Well come on back.”

“Mr. Ryunoten? Mrs. Jenkins is here to review her case with you.” The receptionist says as the pair of you approach.

Mike aims a smile at the lady, “You’re a bit early Mrs. Jenkins. I’ll be with you in just a few minutes.” Then ushers you back to his office. “Dream would be here with us if she could, but..”

You smile, remembering reading about some of her cases in the news already. “Court comes first in this case. So what can I do for you?”

“Well, we’re ready to get out of Jesus’s house. Business is good enough that we feel confident in asking you to build our home for us.” He pulls out a notepad. “We’ve got a budget of 100k to offer and would like it to be near to Jesus’s house if possible. He’s got a beautiful location and we’d like to share it or have something equally lovely.”

“That’s easily accomplished. I know of several lots for sale that have great views.”

“We’d need a decent size since we want the house to be ready for our family to grow. We want to have children.”

“Define decent size.” you say, clicking your pen for note taking.

“Well, 4 bedrooms, 3 or 4 bathrooms. Large enough yard for a pool and room for the kids to run. The bedroom suite needs to be very much a refuge for us. Dream…needs a lot of sleep. If you could include a small workout area/ or room that would be great. I think nicely decorated and comfortable goes without saying, given how perfectly you decorated our office. My lovely wife has specifically requested soft soothing colors throughout. I’m fine with that as long as it doesn’t look like a powder puff.”

You laugh, nodding. “Don’t worry Mike. I won't make it overly girly. Anything else?”

“I think that covers it….Oh, if it helps, we both like the low country house style.”

“No problem.” You check your notes, making sure you didn’t miss anything. “I think we covered everything then. I’ll get out of your way and let you get to Mrs. Jenkins.”

Michaels smiles, walking you to the door. “Oh, Jesus and I have a friend named Reggie. He’s thinking about relocating from the city to here with his girlfriend.”

“Well, when they get here, I’ll be sure to be available for them.” You shake hands and head out, already mentally rummaging through the list of available lots.

ENTRY DETAILS: With the Ryunotens in mind they seemed like a traditional family, one that would prefer a more simple and traditional looks over modern, but traditional and simple doesn't mean old, so the house still has a flat screen TV in the Living Room and a computer in the Study. The walls are a nice shade of light yellow which contrasts well with the dark wood flooring, while the master suite has a small dressing room that is connected to a light brown bathroom complete with a shower and a tub. The kids rooms upstairs are furnished appropriately with one being for two boys and the other for a girl, and the fourth bedroom can be a guest bedroom for when a friend is visiting. The backyard has a large pool and a grill complete with seating area for barbecues. Overall the house has a traditional Country style with some tones of modernity like the pool and flat screen TV.

    Build’n’Share Challenge #31

    Fall Designer Showdown

You are sitting your desk, idly looking out of the window at the fall leaves making their slow descent in the light autumnal breeze when your computer pings with a reminder.

“Oh Shoot.” You think to yourself, “What have I forgotten now?”

Glancing at your screen you see it is actually an email, you really must ask, Rose to change the notification sounds on your new PC. And to let you know what each one actually means.

The title of the email reads “Calling all Builders, Architects and Designers.”

“Hmm, well, I am certainly included in that group.” You think as you scan for the sender. You have learnt not to randomly open emails from just anyone after your last PC was infected with some sort of Trojan Bunny. You were just happy that Rose had thought to backup all your important documents to the cloud.

“Ah, it’s from the Designer’s Guild,” you say out loud. Rose pokes her head through the door.

    “Is it that time already?”

Wondering how she heard you with the door closed, you realise that your intercom had been left open after you asked her to bring your last client in. You say a word of thanks that you have been in relative silence and contemplation since.

“Yep Rose, it’s a bit late actually. But there are still leaves falling so we get to have our Fall Designer Showdown.”

Rose smiles, “You know these are my second favourite types of commission?”

“Really?” You ask her, a little surprised.

    “What is your favourite?”

“Well, that would be telling,” she says as she closes the door with a smirk.

On the property itself, you will find these 4 items:

    12189492_1099035316782646_3250991086572394421_o_zpshhylyedm.jpg~original

You will choose ONE of these items to use as your inspiration to decorate and furnish your house. In the end, when the judges look at your media, they should know which item you chose just by looking at the way you decorated and furnished. Please also include the object you chose somewhere in your house and be sure to have it in a screenshot (unless you choose the bear gnome from Outdoor Retreat and don’t yet have the Game Pack). You can delete the objects on the lot that you didn't choose as your inspiration and the wall piece used to hold the painting. You also cannot duplicate the item (use it more than once on the lot) that you do use as your inspiration.

    This is the house!

    Rules and details:
You can designate the rooms however you like, but your outcome should be a 2bedroom, 1 bathroom, or a 1bedroom, 1 bathroom and study home.
You cannot change the size or location of foundations, walls, and roofing.
Yes, all walls, foundation, and roofing must remain the same.
    You can, however, add walls;
You can replace doors, windows, and stairs, but they have to remain in the same position (meaning if it's a 2 tile window, you have to replace it with a 2 tile window or 2 single tile windows, etc.) Doors CAN be replaced with an arch of the same size if desired.
You can't change the roof shape, but you can change the texture and color, the pitch, add trim, adjust the curvature, etc.
You can add structural elements for landscaping purposes, such as a greenhouse, gazebo, or a carport (no garages), but they cannot be attached to the main house.
You CAN change, add or delete any fencing, but you may not use fencing inside the home.
This must be on a 15x20 lot (can be placed in any neighborhood/world).
    THERE IS NO BUDGET!
The theme is completely up to you. It does not have to be Winter themed - your house should reflect your inspirational object.
You do not need any game packs to compete. The house was built with only base game elements.
CC is allowed, but please list/link/credit them when you submit so downloaders can find them!

    Build’n’Share Challenge #32

    A Patchwork Family
You pull up to Central Park, scanning the expanse of green grass for your next client. Crossing the footbridge over the pond, you see a tanned handsome man jogging toward you, his face split in an easy smile. “Hi! I'm Miguel Salvador. I recognized you from the article in the Sunset Gazette about the new orphanage.” He shakes your hand warmly.

“It's so nice to meet you, Mr. Salvador,” you say.

“Please, call me Miguel. Let me introduce you to my family.” He leads you across the field to a red and white gingham picnic blanket spread beneath an enormous shade tree. A beautiful mocha-skinned woman with short, tight curls sits crossed-legged, her very pregnant belly covered in a pool of flowing bohemian fabrics. Twin Asian toddlers sit with her, busily playing with a xylophone and peg blocks, their cherubic faces furrowed intently beneath their pig tails. “This is my wife, Serena, and two of our children, Lihua and Liling.” Serena extends her hand up to you, metal bracelets jangling as they slide up her slender arm.

“It's wonderful to meet you,” you say, shaking Serena's hand. “Your family is beautiful!”

“Oh, the twins are not our only children,” Serena says with a chuckle. “Our eldest son, Nketi, is over there playing frisbee with our younger son, Tuyen.” Her voice drops to a low whisper, “Our other daughter, Aleela, is hiding behind this tree. She's shy.” Two dark eyes peep out from behind the tree, catch your gaze, and then disappear. Serena pats her belly gently. “And last but not least, we have Maya here, who should be making her debut in a few more weeks.”

    “Incredible,” you breathe.

Miguel motions for you to have a seat and then sits beside Serena, looping an arm over her shoulders. “Serena and I have a special place in our hearts for kids in the system. We were both in the foster system and aged out before we could be adopted. So we've made it our mission to bring as many kids into our home as we can handle. Which is why we need your help. We are currently living in a tiny apartment with five children. With a sixth on the way, we're really bursting at the seams.”

“I bet! What do you need in your new home?”

“We need three or four bedrooms plus a nursery, and at least two and a half bathrooms,” Miguel says. “I teach middle school at the Community School for the Gifted and have lots of papers to grade, so I need some sort of office space. If it could double as study space for the kids, too, that would be great.”

“Meal times are hectic, so we'd love a large, open kitchen with plenty of prep space and enough places for everyone to have a seat at the table,” Serena adds. “We generate an enormous amount of laundry, so a laundry or mudroom is a must. The kids also need some decent green space to play in. There is nowhere for them to play at the apartment complex, which is why we're at the park today.”

“Okay, that all sounds feasible,” you say. “Is there anything else you need?”

Miguel touches the bangles on Serena's arm. “Serena makes jewelry and sells it at the consignment store. She also likes to paint and teaches youth art camp at the Sunset Institute of Modern Art, so some sort of art space would be good for her.”

“What style of home did you have in mind?” you ask.

“We like contemporary and prairie style homes, but casual and family friendly rather than cold and museum-like,” Serena says. “Our family is a patchwork of different ethnicities. Nketi is from Kenya, Aleela is from Zambia, Tuyen is Vietnamese, the twins came from China, and Miguel is Puerto Rican. I'd love for the interior of the home to have things that remind each child of their own heritage. We like a warm color palette – reds, oranges, and yellows – but it shouldn't be garish. Does that make sense?”

“Absolutely! We can have your home finished by the end of the month. Will that work?”

Serena puts a loving hand on her belly and says with a smile, “Just in time.”

    The Brief:

    *30x40 lot
*3-4 bedrooms, plus a nursery (the home should have 3 cribs for the twins and the new baby)
    *at least 2 ½ bathrooms
    *laundry/mudroom
    *large open kitchen
    *warm color palette
    *contemporary or prairie style home
    *comfortable, casual interior
*items that honor the family's varied heritage
    *office/study space
    *art space
*a green space for the kids to play in
    *$110K budget

    Sim Challenge:

Make the family and show them living in their new space. Miguel is a teacher who is family oriented, self-assured, and outgoing. Serena is family oriented, artistic, and a perfectionist. Nketi is a clumsy child who loves to read. Aleela is a shy child who loves the outdoors. Tuyen is a perfectionist child who is over-emotional. The twins look identical but are very different. Lihua is a budding music lover, while her sister, Liling, is athletic. Maya's traits remain to be seen.

Edit: You can make Liling and Maya as children or babies as there are no toddlers in Sims 4.

    Room Challenge
Create the children's outdoor space, you have a budget of $25k. You will have to do this on a foundation to ensure that it can be uploaded to the gallery.

    Coy Christmas Comes Home
You glance down at your appointment calendar, shaking your head in puzzlement. "Rose, can you come in here a sec?" you call through the open door.

Rose pokes her head into your office, looking at you quizzically.

"What's this appointment notation for later today? Coy Christmas? Is that some kind of statement about how you're feeling about the holiday season this year?"

Rose laughs. Actually, snorts, is more like it. Kind of a combination of a snort and a giggle. A sniggle, perhaps? "Nope," she says, finally gaining control of her giggles. That's your new client. First name, Coy. Last name, Christmas.

"Oh." you say in a serious tone, then shake your head. "Bless his heart."

"No doubt," Rose sniggles some more. "I'll never know how he made it through junior high alive with a name like that."

"You just stop it," you say sternly. As sternly as you can muster anyway, trying to hide your own grin. "Please send him in as soon as he gets here."

"Aye, aye, Boss," she says with a jaunty salute and backs out of the office still smiling.

Forty-five minutes later, she ushers in Mr. Christmas himself. You aren't sure what you were expecting. Someone older for sure. And... jollier. Coy Christmas is young. Not to mention, the very definition of tall, dark and handsome. Composing yourself, you shake hands in introduction and motion for him to take a seat. "I understand you're returning to the area after being away for awhile?" you prompt after the usual small talk.

"Yes, ma'am," Coy affirms in his decidedly sexy drawl. "MeMa, that's what we call my grandma, she's finally had to go into a retirement home over in Newcrest. I'm moving into her old place to fix it up to sell. I might even end up living there myself if turns out the way I hope it does. The old place has good bones. It just needs to be brought into this decade," he says with a chuckle.

"Well, that doesn't exactly sound like our usual kind of project," you say hesitantly. "I'm not sure exactly how we can help you."

"I was a contractor back in Sunset Valley," Coy explains. But I'm not licensed in this area yet. I'd like to hire you as project manager. I need you to hook me up with the best tradespeople in the area to get this job done right. I can save money on the project by doing some of the work myself, and I'll pay you a commission on the final sale."

You nod, starting to see where he is going with this arrangement. "That actually works out nicely for this timeframe," you agree. "With the holidays coming up, a nice, small project may be just perfect for us."

    ...

    Challenge Brief:
The decor should be updated and tasteful but not too modern for Coy's taste.
Pick any "Low Income" (30,000 or less) home from any world to remodel.
You have the starting value of the home +30,000 to complete the remodel.
You can keep/delete/replace any furnishings and fixtures.
Money from deleted items CAN be used for the new decor.
You can add to the existing footprint of the house or rearrange the interior walls as you'd like.
Roof, windows, doors, etc. can be moved, changed and/or replaced as you'd like.
The finished home should be 2 bedroom, 2 bath.

    Sim Challenge:
Create Coy Christmas and show him working at various stages in the remodel.

    Room Challenge:
Decorate Coy's new living room for the holidays. You'll have an additional $2000 for the living room budget if you enter this optional challenge.

    Build’n’Share Challenge #34

    A Curtis New Year
As you make your way through the snow-covered streets to your office, you wonder what on earth you were thinking, agreeing to meet a client on Christmas Eve. You wonder idly what Rose is up to today, as the client in question has more than an idle interest in your secretary, thus the enforced day off. As you round the corner, you spy your office, nestled in the snow, the scene feels incredibly picturesque.

As you approach the front door, you hear Christmas music, laughter, a deep baritone voice and what sounds like Rose.

“I must be losing it.” You think to yourself.

Looking through the window of the door, you decide that this must be some kind of dream, or possibly a nightmare. The place is covered in fake snow, decorations and under a piece of mistletoe, prominently placed above your secretary’s desk, you see your client and your secretary embraced in what seems to be a very passionate kiss. Taking a deep breath and fortify yourself and open the door. The bell over the door rings and Rose jumps, looking awkwardly towards the door, looking like a teenager being caught by her parents.

“Ah, the architect arrives.” Says the baritone voice.

“Mr Curtis,” You say as you cannot even begin to make your brain think of any more words.

“How many times do I have to ask you to call me Doug?”

Apologising, you look to Rose, who is still in the arms of your most influential client. Clearing her throat, she untangles herself from the arms of Oasis Springs ultimate bachelor.

“Mr Curtis, asked that I come in early to help him with the decorations. He wanted to surprise you with a festive scene on your arrival.”

“Well, he certainly managed that,” You say under in a whisper.

“Doug, this is most definitely a surprise.” As you take in the transformation of your office waiting room. It looks a little like a sleigh ride in the snow, and you realise that was exactly what he was trying to achieve, although, you have your doubts as to who it was meant for.

“I’ll get some coffee while you two talk business.”

    “Thanks, Rose,” You say drily.

Opening the door to your office, which is still, astonishingly, as you left, you are left in no doubt who the scene in the foyer was for.

    “Doug, please, take a seat.”

Obliging he perches on the edge of your desk.

“Merry Christmas,” He says, with an arched eyebrow and a very cocky look.

“And to you. Now how can we be of service to you?” Wincing, you rephrase.

“What can I help you with today?”

“Well, it’s nearly New Year, and as you know, being a founding member of the community, I always like to throw a big bash for all the inhabitants of our fair town.”

“Yes, I believe that was part of the brief when we built your home, that it be able to hold parties.”

“Of course, but this year I want to go bigger and better. I would like you to build the town a new night spot, somewhere for people to Get Together and celebrate, first and foremost the New Year, but of course, it would also be a business venture for myself, so it would have to remain profitable throughout the year. Somewhere to hold a book club, or a wedding party, a multipurpose venue.”

    You look at your client.

“Of course, do you have any style in mind?”

“Something tasteful, not too classic, nor too modern. Of course, the budget is no problem. I want this to be a place where everyone feels welcome. Nothing too large or foreboding, maybe something on a 40x30 lot?” You have a feeling he is talking to himself rather than to you.

There is a timid knock on your office door and Rose enters carrying a tray with two cups of cappuccinos.

You give her an inquisitive look as she hands you yours and she responds by blushing and looking surreptitiously at Doug. Doug merely beams in her direction. And you wonder what on earth could have prompted such a change of heart from your stalwart friend.

“I think we are pretty much done here,” He says as he puts his untouched coffee down on the table. “The venue, will, of course, need to be completed for New Year’s Eve. And I expect to see you both at the party.”

With that, he gives Rose a peck on the cheek and saunters out of the room. The bell over the outer door tinkles and you give Rose a bemused look. She looks back at you, utterly helpless and then bursts into laughter, so contagious that you can’t help joining her. As you wipe your eyes from the tears streaming down your face you set your mind to the mammoth task ahead of you.

“It’s a good job I didn’t have anything planned for the Holidays,” You say to yourself as Rose closes the door behind her.

    Build’n’Share Challenge #35

    We Have A Plan
Feeling refreshed after your new year break and proud of your all you achieved in 2015 you sit at your desk with a cup of green tea and some rice cakes. All that celebrating over the festive period has meant that you are in serious need of a detox.

    Rose knocks on the door.

“Come on in Rose,” you say. She enters and gives you a slightly wary look. Struggling to stifle your giggles, as you remember her and your previous client under the mistletoe at the New Year’s Eve party, you give her your most professional smile and ask her what she needs.

“Well, I was just wondering if you were ready for your next clients.”

“I have clients booked in this morning?” You ask surprised. When you checked your diary on New Year’s Eve the week was free.

“Yes, they emailed last week, I did forward it onto you didn’t I?”

You quickly do a scan of your emails, you spy no emails from Rose, but considering the whirlwind of her first week of 2016 you decide to give her a reprieve.

“Nope, no email, but not to worry. Show them in.”

Rose ushers your new clients into your office, a man, of about 30, with short blonde hair, blue eyes and a goatee, and a woman of around the same age with fiery long red hair and hazel coloured eyes. They politely decline Rose’s offer of refreshments. Making a hasty exit, Rose closes the door behind her.

“Hi there,” you say with a welcoming smile.

“How can we help you today?”

“Well, we were assured that you were the architect to come to for a special project. My name is Ned and this is my wife Edna. We are new to the area and are looking for a place to call our own.”

“I’m sure that I can help you with that,” You say brightly.

“We have a slightly odd request, though, and have been turned down by a number of different architects,” Edna says with an impish grin.

“We don’t know what sort of house we want,” she continues.

“No idea at all,” Ned chimes in.

“We have an idea of the shape of the place, but no clue as to what style it should be.”

“Well, that is a new one for me!” You say, slightly flummoxed.

“But you don’t seem overly concerned?” this, from Edna.

“Nope, we often get people who are a little unsure of which direction they should take their build in, and they have all been happy with what we have designed for them.”

“I told you we would find someone,” Edna says to her husband.

“I will need some details, such as how many bedrooms, if you need an office, space for a car, that sort of thing.”

“We were looking for 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, a dine-in kitchen, not a formal dining area. A music room would be nice, although, I guess we could incorporate that into one of the bedrooms for now, as we don’t have children yet.” Edna seems incredibly excited, as she talks almost without pause.

“Ned owns a store in the next town over, and I’m an elementary school teacher, so I guess an office would be good, hey honey?”

    Her husband just nods.

“Did you want one or two storeys?” you ask, racking your brains to try and find out as much information as you can about what they do know that they want.

“We don’t know,” they say as one and giggle.

“We would like somewhere to park the wagon though,” says Edna.

“Ok, that sounds good. So, you said you knew the shape of the home?” You ask.

“Yep, we have a footprint, but that is all.”

    “One last thing, the budget?”

“Of course, we have some simoleons from the sale of our previous homes, my studio and Ned’s house. We can go as far as $125,000.”

“Okelydokely then!” You have no idea where that came from.

You rise to your feet as they get up to leave.

“We’ll have the place ready for you in a fortnight, sound good to you?”

“Perfect,” they say, once more in unison.

    Brief:
Download this footprint from the gallery and do your thing, the style and layout is completely up to you.
    Budget of $125k
    3 bedrooms
    2.5 bathrooms
    Dine in kitchen
    Somewhere to park a car

Notes: You can not add to the footprint, however, the use of the footprint is entirely up to you. You can designate part of the footprint to be outdoor space. You may add storeys if you wish.

Sim Challenge: Create Ned and Edna. Ned is cheerful and neat, Edna is childish and family oriented, the other trait and their aspirations are up to you.

Room Challenge: Create the dine in kitchen, you must still use the floor plan for this and you have a budget of $25k.

ENTRY DETAILS: so for this challenge, the footprint posed a huge challenge due to the curved edges only being able have fences applied to them. I first tried a colonial type build, and it seems off center and it just didn't work well. I then got the inspiration to maybe go modern so that I could play with the edges a little more and what I didn't use as the house, I would try utilize in a cool way as an outdoor area. I chose some traditional aspects in the build like the stone accent and lush garden, to keep the modern look from being too harsh. I wanted to make sure it still seemed homey. On the inside I tried to use interesting colors because Ned and Edna seem real spontaneous considering they were letting their house be built in any way that the designer chose. I hope you enjoy my build!

    Build’n’Share Challenge #36

    To Sleep Perchance To Dream
Your last client has left the office and you cast your eye over your google calendar to check what’s coming next. “Ah yes,” you think to yourself, “I remember Rose mentioning this one”.

Rose buzzes through on the intercom “Are you ready?” she asks.

“As I’ll ever be!” you reply.

She knocks on the door and as it opens, you and she are almost bowled over by the whirlwind of activity that is your next prospective client.

“Hi, hi! How are you doing?” He asks.

You motion to him to sit, but he show no signs of taking your lead, he seems happy pacing up and down the office.

You take a moment to study him, bronzed skin, closely cropped dark brown hair, brown eyes and a trace of stubble across his chin. He has a rangy body and a grace about his movement that reminds you of the performance of Swan Lake back in Sunset Valley two years ago.

He starts to talk again, his voice a lilting Caribbean accent. “Thanks again for agreeing to meet with me today. I am so excited to finally have somewhere to call home, even if it is going to minuscule!”

You wonder how small he means when he proffers a portfolio to you. Inside are sketches of a modern-looking studio home, the exterior is stucco, the interior post-modern and you have to wonder why on earth he needs an architect when he has these drawings.

“I bet you’re wondering why I need you!” He says echoing your thoughts.

    “A little” you admit.

“Well, you see these sketches were completed by my partner, but we had a difference of opinion and decided to go our separate ways. He always said that he wanted to build me a small pad somewhere, where I could go to relax and unwind after a hard day at the studio. Just because he doesn’t want to build it anymore, doesn’t mean I shouldn’t have it, does it?”

“No, of course not,” You say with a smile.

“You mentioned a studio, do you paint?”

“No, I’m a ballet dancer, I’m working with Doug C on a new performance of A Midsummer’s Night Dream. And I want my space darn it! He can’t speak highly enough of you and your little team here, so I thought you would be perfect for me.”

    “Mr Marriner.”

    “Please, call me Rich.”

He says, still striding around your office.

“OK, Rich, I guess you are looking for a one bedroom build, similar in layout to an apartment.”

“Similar yes, but I most definitely want the exterior to look like a home. I intend to spend a lot of time in the area, if this thing with Doug works out, who knows what may happen next.”

“So, you want a comfy one room home, with all your favourite things within easy reach?” You ask.

“Well, apart from the bathroom, who wants to poop where they eat hey?” He asks with a smile and a twinkle in his eye.

“Of course. Did you have a budget in mind?”

“Nothing too huge, after all, this thing with Doug is at its proposal state right now, it might not ever see the light of day, but I don’t like to dwell on the negative. Let’s say $35,000.”

“It must have somewhere for me to meditate as well, a calm outdoor area maybe?”

“I’m sure we can think of something!”

Shaking hands, he bids you adieu.

You silently send a thought of thanks to whomever it was that was responsible for your previous partnership with Mr Curtis, he certainly sends you his fair share of clients. Though, recently you have started to wonder if he might be holding a slightly ulterior motive.

    Brief:
    • Must be built on a 15x20 lot, in whichever world you chose
    • One room, single storey post-modern exterior home (the only area that can be separated is the bathroom)
    • Interior to be no larger than 100 squares total, as a square this would be 10x10, no side can be longer than 10 squares
    • Interior is also to be in the post-modern style
    • Must haves, areas for sleeping, cooking, eating, reading, yoga and meditation.
    • You have a budget of $35,000. The cost of the lot should be included in this total.

Notes: We will need an overhead of your build with gridlines turned on. Your build will not be judged if this requirement is not met.

Sim Challenge: Create Rich Marriner, he is athletic and outgoing, his last trait and his aspiration are up to you.

Room Challenge: No room challenge this time around, as it is only really a one room build.

    Build’n’Share Challenge #37

    The Play Is The Thing
Music played cheerfully in the background. Uniformed caterers maneuvered through the well dressed crowd, offering drinks and canapés. And in the background, the beauty of antiques and the luxury of high quality décor. You know this for a fact, since you're the one who designed, built and furnished the apartment. As you move amongst the other guests, you hear many gratifying compliments.

"Everyone loves the work you've done here," says a deep masculine voice to your left. You turn and smile at the owner of the apartment, Douglas Curtis the third. Adventurer, architect, and egotist.

"Thank you," You say with a smile, preparing yourself for some grandstanding. "How was your most recent trip abroad?"

"Wonderful! In fact, being abroad gave me an idea that I wanted to talk to you about." He takes your arm and guides you outside to talk about it without being overheard. He looks around conspiratorially and smiles, "I don't want anyone to hear what I'm about to suggest."

"I wont say anything," You assure him.

"I know I can count on you." He takes a long drink from his glass, "I was in France recently, and while I was there I attended a play. Good one too. Ghosts, revenge, violence and all that. But I was really impressed with the playhouse. It was in a historic playhouse. Balconies, fancy wall decorations, etc. It occurred to me that my home town didn't have something like that. So that's what I want you to do. Set it up so there can be shows and plays and concerts in a historic, fancy type of play house so we get some good acts in. And of course, with spots to display some of my larger finds."

You tilt your head, "That sounds...great! Whats my budget?"

    "Hows 175K? Will that work?"

"Should be fine. Two Weeks?" You suggest, already making notes in your head.

"Fabulous!" He says with his usual boisterousness. "Now that business is out of the way, how is that darling Rose?"

    "Ah...you know, I should probably go...get started...."

    Requirements:

    20x30 lot

175,000 budget (to include the lot cost)

    Historic look

    Landscaping

Public facility requirements, like bathrooms, etc...

Sim Challenge: Create Douglas Curtis III, his aspiration is to be a mansion baron and one of his traits is romantic, the rest is up to you.

    Build’n’Share Challenge #38

    Habitat For Humanity
You regard your appointment with satisfaction and eagerness. The Olsens were coming with the promise of a challenge.

It was always fun to see the Olsens. Don's cheerfully relaxed demeanour and Judy's energetic and equally cheerful self usually guarantee a good day.

Shortly, Rose ushers the couple in, carrying a tray of drinks and snacks.

You are greeted with happy hugs, marred slightly by a cast on Don's arm.

"What happened?" You exclaim as they sit down.

Judy rolls her eyes and says "he fell off a ladder while helping to put windows in." Her tone is that loving wifely exasperation.

"Windows?" you ask curiously, leaning back in your chair.

"Yes. We are both involved in habitat for humanity." Don explains. "We were building a small house for a family who lost their home in a flood. They didn't have money for insurance so they lost everything."

"That's horrible. Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Not with that house." Judy says with a smile. "The house is done and the family is settled in."

"Is there another house you need my help with?"

"Absolutely." Don hands you a flyer. "My club is hosting a charity auction. We want a talented architect to donate their time and build a luxury home. The house will then be auctioned off for charity. The starting price will be twice the cost of the materials, to pay for the materials and still have a donation."

You nod, already willing to donate your time. "It says its for a themed luxury house. What does that mean?"

Judy beams, "The house has to have a theme. Like coastal or circus or candyland or a sports team. Luxury means all the fancy touches that will appeal to the upperclass. Needs to have at least 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Garage for at least 2 cars. Landscaping as well. You know, the usual. Oh and the outdoors need to be as luxe as the indoors."

"Think you might be interested?" Don asks.

"Indeed! This will be fun," you say, excited by the prospect already. "Is the timeframe the same as usual?"

"If you can swing it," Don says amiably.

"Shouldnt be a problem. Any requests for a budget?"

"The club's put together loan of 100k for materials."

"Great. Can I sign your cast?"

    They both laugh.

    Requirements:

    4 bedrooms

    3.5 bathrooms

    2 car garage

    Luxury build

    Luxury landscaping

    100k budget

Sim Challenge: Make Don and Judy, Don's Aspiration is perfectionist and Judy is active, the rest as they say, is up to you.

Room Challenge: Create a luxury two car garage in any theme of your choice. The budget for this is 12,500.

    Build’n’Share Challenge #39

    Alien Encounters
“Plum storm..” you mutter to yourself, “Why did it have to get so dark so quickly…?” You glower up at the heavy thunderclouds obscuring the evening sun before hurrying off towards your car. An abrupt beam of white light surrounding you stops you in your tracks. “What the..?” Whatever word you were about to say is cut off as the white light becomes blinding.

When your eyes clear, you realize that you aren’t outside anymore. Instead you’re standing in a new room, with soft music playing from somewhere. Sitting on a kind of couch that looks like it was lifted from a pub, is a blue skinned man. For a few moments you just stare at him, absently taking in details like the Star Wars-esque spacer’s outfit, the blaster on his hip and the rapier on the couch next to him.

“Sorry about the abrupt pick up, but I’d rather keep this just between us.” He says, flashing a mischievous smile. “You okay?”

You close your eyes for a few moments, reminding yourself that you’ve dealt with equally weird things. A crime boss. Santa and his wife. An entire village of fairy tale characters. You take a deep breath and put on your professional smile, “Honestly? I could use a drink.” He laughs.

A few minutes later you’re ensconced on the couch with a glass full of some rich alien liquor in your hand. He has one as well and waits until you’ve had a drink of it before he speaks. “My name is Donnell Indigo, and I’ve heard that you’re the best in the area when it comes to satisfying…custom requirements.”

Cautiously you nod, “When it comes to building and interior design, there’s a lot I can do. Are you looking for a landing pad for your ah, space ship?”

“Sort of.” He crosses his legs, sipping his drink with appreciation. “I’m the kind of guy who is very much in demand you might say, and not always by people I’d like to spend time with. I need a place to lie low. This seems like a quiet place and its so far out in Wild Space, its unlikely I’ll have to worry about anyone bothering me about picky little details.”

Unable to resist, you ask, “What kind of picky details?”

“Oh, small things. You know, comforting lonely women who forget to tell me they’re married, unexpected loans of personal property…little things that really aren’t all that important. Still, people get worked up by those kind of things.”

‘Great. A space pirate,‘ You think to yourself. “I understand where that could be complicated.”

“Exactly. And sometimes a guy just needs a little down time. Think you can help me out? I pay well.”

“Depends on what you’re looking for in a house,” you say cautiously. “I make it a point to avoid bothering people with those…picky little details you mentioned.”

“Don’t worry,” he says, raking the fingers of one hand through navy blue hair, “I’m looking for a place to live when I’m here. A bachelor’s pad. Something that’s comfortable with or without female company. But I want it to blend in. I don’t want something that’s going to stand out like a neon sign. I’d like comfortable, loungy furniture. A big masterpiece of a master bedroom and an equally luxurious master bath. I need a secure room in which to store my…souvenirs. And quick, discreet routes out of the house if someone does come snooping around.”

“Sounds doable. How much do I have to work with to make this haven of safety and romance come about?”

Donnell gets up. He comes back with a spaceage briefcase and the decanter of liquor. After topping up your glass, and his own, he opens the briefcase and shows it to you. “Go ahead and count it.”

You nod once you’ve finished counting it, “I can do a lot with this. How will I contact you when I’m done?”

“I’ll check back in with you when I get back in system.”

    “Sounds good.”

He smiles over the rim of his glass, trouble clearly being planned in his gaze. “Sounds very good.”

    Requirements:

    Bachelor pad with loungy furniture

    Luxurious master bedroom and bathroom

Camouflaged in some way or other

    Treasure Room

    Hidden escape routes

    Budget: 75,000

    La Casa Dello Splendore
You let out an indulgent sigh of pleasure, sitting on the walk in front of your favorite cafe. In front of you is the remains of an amazing pasta dish and your preferred sparkling beverage. A soft breeze caresses your cheek, keeping the warmth of the sun from becoming too intense. There couldn’t be a better way to wait for a late appointment than this.

You are roused from your doze by a low female voice in an entrancing accent saying, “Mi scusi, Signora. Are you the architect?” You open your eyes to find a beautiful woman standing next to you. Deep red hair, so dark its almost burgundy, frames a face that could have been model for a statue in the Renaissance, set with a pair of large black eyes. Unlike most redheads you’ve seen, her skin is a delicate golden tan. She is dressed in a lovely, long shirt that looks as if someone has painted a watercolor garden across it, over a pair of snug embroidered jeans. Over her shoulder is a large purse in shades that compliment her shirt. She’s the kind of woman who looks like she should be trendsetting in Milan while wearing her most casual of clothing.

“I am. Its nice to meet you.” You hold out a hand, getting one back that is both perfectly manicured, and yet bears the calluses of someone used to holding tools.

“Bene. I am Eleganza della Pietra. We had an appointment. I am so sorry I was late. I am new here and got lost.” She says apologetically, sitting down when invited.

“Its all right. I had a beautiful lunch outside on a beautiful day. Who could complain about that?” You say with a smile, making her laugh softly. “What can I do for you, Ms della Pietra?”

She smiles a Mona Lisa smile and says “Please, call me Eleganza.”

“Thank you Eleganza. Where are you from?”

“I am from Venice. I moved here to have different,” There is a pause while she looks for the right word. “Ispirazione.”

“You are an artist?” you ask, guessing at the meaning of her word.

    “Si. I am a scultrice.”

    You pause, “A sculptress?”

“That is the word.” Eleganza pulls out a notebook from her pretty bag and hands it to you. “I am still working on my Simlish. A friend wrote out what I want for you, in case I do not get the words right.”

“Your Simlish is great.” You assure her, taking the notebook and reading over the requirements. “This is perfect. Just one question.”

    “Si?”

“What kind of budget do I have?”

    “Oh, 150,000! Is that enough?”

“Should be fine. I’ll have it done for you in a couple weeks.”

    “Che’s stupendo!” She exclaims happily.

    Requirements:

Italianate style house on moderate lot

    3 bedrooms, 2 baths

Separate building for an sculpting studio with lots of light and a half bath

    Landscaping

    Small pool

    Build’n’Share Challenge #41

    A Taste For Finer Things
You are engrossed in the latest issue of 'Dwell' when Rose’s dog begins barking frantically in alarm. You rush across your office and throw open your door to see a tall, spindly man with a very unhappy white cat hissing and digging its claws into the man’s shoulder. Rose is trying desperately to restrain her uncharacteristically agitated dog and shoots you a look that clearly says 'HELP!'

“Why don’t you come in my office, sir,” you say, motioning to the office behind you. The man rushes past you into the office. As soon as the door closes, the cat becomes docile and begins to purr. Like its owner, the cat is long and thin, with white fur, faint grey striping, and the largest ears you’ve ever seen on a cat.

“What a peculiar cat. I’ve never seen one like that before, Mister..?”

“Corbett. Niles Corbett. My companion is Buerre Blanc. She is a Devon Rex.”

“It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Corbett. I apologize for the welcoming committee. My assistant's dog is usually very friendly, but this is the first time we've had a feline visitor. What can I do for you?” Mr. Corbett is a sour-looking man with a long face, a heavy brow, and a small down-turned mouth. His clothes are understated but clearly made of fine fabrics.

“Well, I'm in need of a new home for myself and Buerre Blanc,” he says, stroking the cat's pale fur. “I am a professional food critic and author of the blog 'Pour L'Assiette'. I work from home, so I need something with a comfortable study. I would also like two bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom, and another full bathroom for the rest of the house. I don't need a lot of room, as it's just Buerre Blanc and me, but I would like quality furnishings and a well-appointed kitchen with an attached room for wine storage. I am a collector of fine wines, so the wine storage should have separate temperature controls.”

“Is there a particular style of home you prefer, Mr. Corbett?”

“I gravitate toward French Country architecture. I enjoy the stately architecture and formal aesthetic.”

“What kind of budget are we dealing with, and how soon would you like your new home completed?”

“Apartment life has grown quite tiresome for me. Buerre Blanc and I are both ready for the quiet of our own home. We would like to be out of our apartment in two weeks. As for the budget, I am prepared to spend up to 95,000 and not a penny more. I trust that is feasible?”

“Absolutely! I will get started immediately!”

    Requirements:

20x30 lot in the world of your choice
    95,000 budget
    French Country style architecture
    2 bedrooms, 1 with en-suite bathroom
    1 extra full bathroom
Well-appointed kitchen with separate wine storage
    Study
    Living room
    Dining area
    Garage
    Fine furnishings

    Room Challenge:

Create the well-appointed kitchen, the budget for this room is 20,000

On the main floor as you come into the house are 2 arches leading to, on the left the living room and on the right the dining room with the kitchen behind it with a walk- in Wine storage room. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms and a study. The master bedroom contains a en-suite bathroom. The second bathroom for the house is located on the second floor at the front of the house. The Back patio/yard contains a Barbecue and dining set for sims to sit and relax. Also located in the back patio is a small garden for your Sims to plant their own Produce.
As I said this is based on a house I stayed in for about a month it was more orange in shade and had a 3 car garage workroom with a guest suite above which is where I stayed. It was quite lovely but far more over grown with a pool and on a fairly large lot of land I think about 3 acres.

The Craftsman style of Amercian houses seemed like the perfect model for what to build. I used lots of dark wood, mostly contrasted with white walls and pops of red and green.

    Fairy Rescue
“How very sad,” you think to yourself as your eyes wander over the pretty little park.

Barely large enough for a single family picnic, it hosted 3 trees clustered together over the flower strewn grass. It was more decorative than functional. And according to the glaring sign at the edge nearest the road, it was shortly going to be replaced by a gas station. You sigh, saddened by the loss of the little park. You had driven past if for years, and while you never stopped, it still perked you up every time you passed. Now though, you take your time, studying it to carefully imprint it on your mind.

As you stroll slowly around the little park taking pictures, a flash of colour catches your eye. You pause for a moment, trying to see it again. You’ve seen that kind of flash before. It had led to the monumental task of helping to build a fairy tale village. Knowing that the fey can be shy, you continue taking your pictures before sitting beneath one of the trees. To pass the time until the shyness fades, you flip through the pictures. Once that’s done, you lean your head back, letting your eyes close, and simply bask in the quiet beauty.

After nearly half an hour of basking, you hear a whispery voice say, “What does demo-oh-lis-hed mean?” It has that underlying chime you had learned to associate with the magical. Slowly opening your eyes, you see a face peeping through the leaves. Indigo eyes watch your every move like a nervous bird.

Speaking softly and gently, you reply “It means that this park is going to be razed.”

“Raised?” asks a second voice. Still moving slowly you look down to see a second person sitting on a flower near your knee. Unlike the first, this one is clearly female, with sunflower yellow hair. Her eyes and wings are the blue of a summer sky.

“Flattened. Destroyed.” you tell her as gently as you would a small child. A wrong tone of voice would send them scattering.

“Destroyed!” A pair of purple haired fairies pop out from nowhere, startling you and the sunflower haired fairy.

The female with pansy purple hair and marigold yellow eyes and wings stomps her foot. “They can't do that! We live here! Tell them to stop it!” She demands imperiously.

“Yeah!” says her companion, a male with violet hair. His eyes and wings are the brilliant orange of an aloe flower.

“She cant just make them stop,” says the original indigo eyed fairy, now perching in full view like a bird. He brushes rose red hair from his eyes.

“But we live here Balsam!” protests the sunflower haired fairy. She turns tearful eyes on you. “Isn't there anything that can be done?”

You let out a soft groan, wondering how you keep getting caught up in these things. To give yourself time to think, you ask their names. The blue eyed fairy introduces herself as Hyacinth, a flower fairy. The indigo eyed male is Balsam, a tree fairy. The pansy haired girl is Kiwi and her violet haired companion is her brother, Fig. Both of them are tree fairies as well.

“Are you the only fairies here?” you ask curiously.

“Yes,” says Kiwi sadly, “All the others left along time ago. And now we have to go too.”

“But where?” Fig asks gloomily, climbing up to sit on another tree branch. Hyacinth takes flight, fluttering her distress.

You hmm, holding out your hand for Hyacinth to perch in. As you look into her hopeful little face, an idea blooms.

“Well…” They look at you expectantly. “I cant save this home.” There are hopeless little cries. Before they can dissolve into worse, you continue. “However, that doesn’t mean I cant help you find a new one. I’m a builder and I’ve been asked to make a new park for our town. They didn’t really give me any specifics, so I can make it into a new home for you and still make them happy.”

“You can?” Asks a hopeful Balsam. “But they will take away our home in a month!”

“Piece of cake!” you assure him, making all four fairies launch into a delighted frenzy of fluttering. You pull out your phone again to start making notes. By the time you finally leave near sundown, you have several ideas on how to pull off your promise and 4 excited fairies.

    Build’n’Share Challenge #44

    This One’s for the Bronies
“This is a mighty pretty park” a woman’s voice says from nearby.

You look over at the speaker, unaccustomed to hearing such a thick southern accent. A blonde young woman wearing a Stetson walks along beside a rather tall and strongly built young man.

The sandy haired man simply responds, “Eeyup.”

“AJ! Mac!” calls a youthful voice.

The two adults turn around, showing you the strong family resemblance in their freckled faces. A little girl with bright red hair runs up to them.

AJ hunkers down to her level, “What's got you so excited Blossom?”

She pushes her short sleeves up a bit more, revealing the tattoo of 3 red apples on her bicep.

“Did you see them cute little houses?” She asks, pointing at one of them. “What are they for?”

“Don’t know. Likely just decoration.” AJ says.

Unable to resist, you speak up. “They’re fairy houses.”

All three focus on you. You walk over to smile down at the little girl with a bright pink bow in her hair. “There are four fairies who live here. They keep the park blooming and healthy.”

“How do you know?” Asks Blossom interestedly.

“Because I designed the park for them.”

    “Wow!”

“That sure is something. Ain't it Mac?” says AJ as she stands back up.

“Eeyup” is the laid back reply.

“Would you like a tour of the park?” you offer with a smile.

AJ and Mac take you up on the offer, while blossom runs off to examine the houses again. During the tour you learn that Mac, AJ, and Blossom are all new arrivals to the town. They decided to move after a wildfire devastated their family orchard. AJ is clearly the more talkative of the two, being forthright and practical. Her elder brother, Mac, seems content to listen, contributing with an “Eeyup” or a “Nope” from time to time. Blossom is the youngest and a cheerful little spitfire, running back and forth and exploring the beauty of the park. The matriarch of the Smith family, Granny, will be joining them when they get settled, according to AJ.

“What are you looking for?” you ask, sensing an opportunity. “Maybe I can help.”

Mac wanders off to play with Blossom as AJ sits down on a bench. You sit next to her as she starts to speak. “Well, we want a large piece of land, since we’re wantin’ to restart the farm. A house obviously.”

    “How many bedrooms?”

“At least four, with one on the ground floor for Granny. She’s getting’ on in years and stairs ain't always easy for her to manage.”

    “Bathrooms?”

“Well, 4’d be nice, but me an’ Blossom can share. Wouldn’t be the first time. “ She smiles. “So at least 3 I think. Don’t want the house too big you know. Don’t need it takin up too much of the land, ya know?”

“Are you gonna grow anything other than the apples?”

“Yep. At the old place we had a vegetable garden. Sure did grow some tasty carrots. And we had chickens.”

“What about budget? Did you have an idea of that?”

“Bout 50,000. Insurance wouldn’t cover more than that.” She scowls. “Never mind the generations that was there.”

“Don’t forget the barn.” Mac says, as he trots by with Blossom on his back.

“Right. Used to take a family picture in front of the barn every year. Be nice to continue that this year.”

“Understandable.” You say, checking over the notes you made on your phone. “Sounds like you guys have some pretty solid ideas of what you want.”

“Well, not knowin’ what you want never got you anything.” She observes, flipping her pony tail over her shoulder. “you wouldn’t happen to know someone who can help us get it do you?”

“As Mac would say, eeyup.” AJ laughs at your imitation. You hand her a business card. “Give me a little time. I’ll call you as soon as I’m done.”

    Build’n’Share Challenge #45

    Pied á terre
As you breeze through the reception area on your way to the studio, you notice that the coffee table is strewn with fashion and celebrity gossip magazines. You pause for a minute, because Rose usually keeps a wide variety of reading material for waiting clients. Then you notice that on the cover of each magazine is a photograph of former supermodel turned fashion and media mogul, Ute Wagner.

You look up and Rose is there smiling broadly. “Rose, why are there so many magazines…”

“Because she is your next client!” Rose interjects.

And before you can say more, in walks Ms Wagner herself, looking even more beautiful than the photographs. You usher her into the studio. Rose follows with your morning cup of coffee and a tall glass of San Pellegrino water with a single ice cube and a slice of kiwi fruit for Ms Wagner. (“How does Rose know,” you wonder, “what Ute Wagner drinks?”)

“Perfect, Rose!” Ms Wagner says to her with her charming German accent.

“So, Ms Wagner,” you say “how may we help you?”

“Please call me Ute!” Her smile lights up the room. “We have already cast and will start shooting in two weeks, a new season of In or Out, which will be based in Newcrest.”

“I see,” you nod. In or Out is a wildly popular fashion-based reality television show. Ute Wagner is the producer, host and one of the judges.

“Since I will be flying in and out of Newcrest for several months, I decided to buy an apartment that I can use as a pied à terre. It is the top floor of a lovely old 1970’s style apartment building with two spacious balconies. The developers of the building have completely gutted the inside of the apartment, and I need you to create for me a home-away-from-home.”

“Of course!” you say. “What are your specific requirements?”

“Well, let’s see. I will definitely need a decent walk-in closet for my clothes and shoes,“ she laughs. “And an ensuite bathroom to the bedroom. I’ll also need an office. Oh, and a second bedroom and bathroom. My dear friend, Tim Glenn, will be a frequent visitor.”

“Will he be the mentor for the contestants?” you ask.

“You’ve watched the show before!” she exclaims and you find yourself blushing.

“Anything else for the apartment? What about the kitchen?”

“I won’t be doing a lot of cooking myself, but I need a well equipped kitchen for the caterer. And I need a place to entertain, too. Maybe one of the balconies? Well, I’ll leave that up to you. Oh, and because I will be on the top floor, the developer said I could put in a fireplace. I’d really like a fireplace somewhere in the apartment!”

“Great!” you say. “What about style and color? What do you prefer?”

“I’m not fussy. Something modern and comfortable—not too cluttered. As for color, surprise me!” she gives you a wry smile that makes you feel like one of the contestants on her show. “And can you have the apartment ready for me in two weeks?”

“Yes indeed!” you reply as you show her out the door. You realize that you have your own “make it work” moment (in the words of mentor, Tim Glenn) and get right back to your desk to start sketching.

    Requirements:

This is strictly an interior design challenge. You can download the apartment building shell here. (The shell uses only base game materials.) None of the exterior walls, wall textures, windows and doors; landscaping; common areas; or front door to the apartment may be changed. The wall height and roof may not be changed either. You may add walls, half walls, interior doors (and interior windows if you need them) to lay out the interior of the top floor apartment. Light fixtures may be added to the apartment balconies (but existing ones may not be changed).

    Master bedroom with ensuite bathroom
    Walk-in closet
    Second bedroom
    Second bathroom (full)
    office
    well-equipped kitchen
    entertainment area
    fireplace
    the usual living/dining areas

Budget: §95,000 (This is the budget for the interior of the apartment and is in addition to the cost of the apartment building and 40 x 30 lot. The original building [build cost: §157, 990] was placed on Avarice Acres in Newcrest [§3,000]. You may place it on any 40 x 30 lot, preferably in Newcrest. Make a note of the beginning cost of the lot once the apartment building is placed and before you start building the interior of the apartment. Since Ute has already purchased the apartment, you need not worry about the lot cost or the cost of the lot with the shell apartment building.)

Room Challenge: Create a fabulous walk-in closet for Ute Wagner. Budget: §9,000.

Sim Challenge: Create Ute Wagner with Ambitious trait. Other traits and aspiration are up to you!

    Build’n’Share Challenge #46 - Tribute

    Tribute
    Insert copied brief here

“Hey Rose!” you say, waving a magazine. “Look who is on the cover again!” She groans as you plop the magazine on her desk, letting the brilliant white smile of Douglas Curtis the 3rd blaze upwards.

“Now what did that attention hound do?” she asks.

You pick up the magazine, laughing. “I don’t know. I haven’t read it yet.” Classifying him as an attention hound isn’t unfair. The adventurer never shied away from publicity. “But I’m sure he’ll be thrilled to know you asked.”

Rose let out an exasperated sigh, “Don’t start. He called this morning and was heavy on the darlings and honeys.”

“You know if you tell him to stop, he will. Doug isn’t a bad guy.”

She makes a noncommittal noise, then says “he wants you to come by his pied a terre tonight.”

Now its your turn to let out an exasperated sigh. “I hope it isn’t to brag about his latest cover…”

That evening you knocked on his door. When he opened the door, it wasn’t the beaming, slightly arrogant gent you were expecting. Instead the smile was missing and his face looked tired and sad. “Hello Douglas.”

“Hello. Thank you for coming out.” He ushers you in and offers a drink. He himself sits down with a glass of amber liquid mixed with some ice.
After a few moments of silence, you ask tentatively “Is something wrong Douglas?”

He rouses himself. “Sorry. I-…My grandmother  died the day before yesterday.”

“I’m so sorry to hear that. Were you close?”

“Yes. I would stay with Nona when my parents were out of town, on holidays and during school vacations. She ran a bakery in Venice. It was practically my home.” He takes a long drink, “I remember being little and laying on sacks of ingrediants early in the morning in the back room. I could hear the thumping of her kneading bread for the days baking. I would wake up a couple hours later to the smell of fresh breads. She’d cut up a loaf and spread her home made jam on it for my breakfast.” He smiles a little. “Believe it or not, I’m a pretty good baker.”

“It sounds like you have a lot of great memories of her.”

“I traveled around so much as a kid…Nona was home to me.” He looked down, blinking away tears. After a few moments her clears her throat, “Which brings me to what I asked you to come by for. I want you to build something special.”

“A bakery in Nona’s name?” you ask with a smile.

He smiles back, “A bakery and baking school in one.” You blink in surprise. Douglas continues, “Nona was always looking for someone to teach how to make good food. She believed that food was the heart of every family. That food made with love and skill would make the home stronger and better. And no meal was ever complete without breads and pastries.

“She loved what she did so much, even in the midst of summer when the ovens were going full blast. I want to honor Nona by starting a bakery that would actually work as a bakery, one where someone can come and have a cup of coffee with their morning rolls, but also teach people how to make these delicious things themselves. People who could love it as she did. As you love your work. What do you say?”

    “I can get started tomorrow.”

    Requirements:

    • Build a bakery that actually functions as a real bakery
    • An eating area for people to sit and savor
    • A teaching area for others to learn
    • Landscaping

    Budget: §55,000

ENTRY DETAILS: An old brick warehouse converted to retail space. The bakery and cafe are located on the ground floor with a classroom and teaching kitchen on the 2nd floor. There are both outdoor and indoor seating areas. I kept kind of an industrial feel with exposed bricks and bar height tables, as well as, a comfortable lounge area. The classroom is small, only accepting 8 students per class. Nona believes in teaching from her own personal cookbooks and does not use computers. Classes are Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm-9pm and are intended for people who want to improve their baking skills. The teaching kitchen is small and students are encouraged to work in teams to help with their social skills.

    Build’n’Share Challenge #47 - A Home of Our Own

    A Home of Our Own
Reginald Worthington the 3rd. You 'hmm' softly to yourself, trying to picture what your next appointment might look like. It never worked but it was a fun mental exercise that let you put aside the last appointment in favor of the next. With a name like that he probably came from a privileged family, so… sun streaked blonde hair and a Caribbean tan. Maybe some designer clothes and shoes worth your car. Laughing at yourself, you give instructions to show him in when Rose calls back that he is here.

The young man that walks in has no resemblance to your mental image. Instead of sun streaked perfectly coiffed, his dark chocolate hair is short but in need of a trim. He pushes his glasses up and brushes his bangs out of his eyes before shaking your hand. Instead of designer labels, his jeans and shirt are well worn and you’re pretty sure that his sneakers are older than your car. You sit back down at your desk after the pleasantries are over. “So, Mr Worthington, what can I do for you?”

He gives you a charming, boyish smile that completes his cute nerd look. “Just call me Reggie. Some of my friends have had you build them houses, and they highly recommended you.”

You grin, “I love referrals. Mind if i ask who?

    “The Ryunotens and Jesus Wu.”

“I know them all quite well. I saw Dream not that long ago actually. She was glowing.”

He chuckles, “Yeah. She’s really excited about being a mom. It took Mike about 10 tries before he could finally tell me about it in a coherent manner.” That depiction of the clever, quick talking lawyer makes you laugh. “Anyway, my fiancée and I are in need of a house.”

    “Congratulations.”

“Thanks.” He pulls out his phone and shows you a picture of an Asian woman that very much embodies the word gorgeous. “Aisu and I have never really had a home, being street rats for the majority of our lives. She thinks I am here looking for an apartment, but I want to surprise her with a home of our own. Especially since we are expecting.”

    “That’s wonderful!”

“Yeah. A little earlier than planned but we are both big on the idea of having a large family and you have to start somewhere.”

“Very true.” You click your pen, “What are you looking for in the way of a house?”

“Well, see, that’s the rub. I’ve always liked a Suburbia thing and Aisu prefers more Japanese aesthetics, so if you could blend it into something comfortable and family friendly that would be great. I think, you know, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths should be a good start right? And a backyard for the kids to play in. And I need somewhere to work.”

    “Like a study?”

“Kind of. See I got lucky and got an apprenticeship at a computer repair firm that covered my education. I’ve been with them for about 10 years now, but the owner is selling to a larger company. I’m being cut as a redundant position.” He scowls for a moment before perking back up. “But the severance package is giving us this fresh start. So I’m going to start a repair business here and I need someplace to work where little hands wont be grabbing at delicate parts.”

    “Gotcha. Any other desires?”

“Not really. Aisu’s very clever when it comes to domestic stuff so she will probably fill in anything I’ve missed when she gets here.”

“Okay. Did you have a budget for this?”

He thinks for a minute. “Um, about 40k i think. I might be able to add more to it, but I want to make sure we have a nest egg for when the baby comes you know?”

“40k will be fine,” you assure him.

    Requirements:

    3 bed 2 bath
    Fenced back yard
Blend of suburbia and Japanese styles
    Family friendly
    Workshop for Reggie
    Landscaping
    30×30 or larger
    40k budget

Aisu is family oriented, neat and self-assured

Build’n’Share Challenge #48 - The Four Sisters of the Apocalypse

The Four Sisters of the Apocalypse
You aren’t quite sure what to make of the group standing in the lobby of your office. It’s only four young women, but they somehow seem more…intense than you would expect. Even Rose's little dog had retreated to its bed, silently.

One of the young ladies is clad entirely in black, pants, vest top and all. Her short raven hair has a single streak of vivid purple, the same color as her eyes. Like the others, she has some solid muscle showing in her arms. She’s tall, nearly six feet you would guess. She introduces herself as “Roxanne Planes, also known as Gunk.” Seeing your confusion she explains that its short for gothic punk.

On her left, one of her friends stands with military straightness. She has dark brown hair pulled into a ponytail and rich green eyes. She’s a perfect example of the beautiful girl next door looks. Clad casually in blue jeans and a t shirt under a leather jacket, she still looks ready for duty. Gunk introduces her as Carrie Logan.

Journye is the third of the group, standing near a window. Somehow she reminds you of a wolf, with a lean narrow face and a stronger build. Surprisingly, she has royal blue hair and green eyes. Something about her and the way that she studies you makes you think that she’s been in more than her fair share of fights. She too wears a t-shirt that does nothing to hide her muscled arms and a pair of loose jeans.

Gunk gestures to the last of her friends, Sarah, as if deliberately reminding you of her presence. And indeed she had slipped your mind, even though you had looked at her just minutes ago. Clad in all white, she wears a bodice style top, white pants and a white overcoat. Even her boots are white. Her black and white streaked hair is cut into a shaggy style that compliments her feline features. Something about her yellow eyes is very predatory and unnerving.

Instead of inviting them back to your office, four of you settle into chairs in the lobby. Sarah opts to stand near Gunk. Clearly the leader of her little group, Gunk says, “We’ve heard you’re the best architect in town.”

“Well, I try.” You say modestly.

She smiles, friendly and disarming. “Well, we need a house. Several houses actually.”

    “Several?”

“Yeah, one for each of us. Eventually. For now we need a place for the four of us while we get established. We are a band called The Four Sisters of the Apocalypse and got a solid signing bonus for our first album. We want to get established before we go for separate houses.”

“Makes sense,” you say, not entirely believing her claim of a band. Not with the constant scanning of the room and general alertness they are displaying. “What would you like?

“This first house is going to be mine,” says Gunk. “I like space and privacy. Since we dont know how long its going to take to get established, we will need rooms for all four of us. Preferably with our own bathrooms. It could get ugly if we have to share one or two bathrooms. We need someplace to practice our music. I sing and play guitar, sarah plays drums, Journye’s on keyboard and Carrie plays bass. We are all big on fitness and sparring, so we need a place to work out. And a garage. Sarah babies her car.”

“All very doable. Whats my budget?”

“About 60k.” Gunk tells you. “And if you could decorate their bedrooms in their favorite colors, I suppose I could put up with that. My favorite color is purple.”

Carrie makes a rude gesture at Gunk then says, “My favorite is brown. Journye’s is blue and Sarah’s, surprise surprise, is white.”

    “Not a problem. Anything else?”

“How soon?” Asks Gunk with another friendly smile..

    Brief:

4 bed 4 bath, decorated in the girls favorite colors
    Gym
    Studio
    Garage
    Privacy and landscaping
    40×30 or larger
    60k budget

    Sim Challenge:

    Make the girls:

Gunk is creative, self-assured, and outgoing
Carrie is a bro, self-assured and outgoing
Journye is athletic, cheerful and loves the outdoors
    Sarah is creative, loner, genius
