Possible to back up my game on MediaFire?

OK, this is my first time doing this so I am not too sure about the process. Btw, I don't have a thumbdrive yet. I do have a MediaFire account though. So is it possible to back up my save on MediaFire using Rar? Then when I purchase a new PC, will I be able to download and access the save file again?

Thanks.

I dont use mediafire. You can ask @igazor.

You can save your game files to a usb flash drive or even email yourself the file and save the email to download later

I would actually want to save the entire game folder, not just the saves inside of it. Probably not the cache files. But yes, you could easily upload a zipped or rar'ed compressed copy of either as a form of backup to MediaFire. One of my own saved games is currently over 2.4 GB, the upload would certainly take a while in my case and emailing a file of that size would of course be impossible. I suppose it would compress to a somewhat smaller size, though it would still be too large for email.

I prefer to use external hard drives that just plug into a USB or other type of connection for things like this, if I have them available.

How about burning the backup data to a disc? They're inexpensive and roomy!

Well currently, I don't even have a backup disc.

Yes you can use mediafire. I've used it in the past to backup sim stuff before getting a flash drive. Now I'm waiting on my new external hard drive to get here to replace the flash drive. Like igazor points out, the size of it can take a while to upload. Having fast internet speed will help boost the upload.

Flash drives are cheap. A pack of CDs is cheap too. I waited for a sale before finally getting an external drive because they are a bit pricey. Mediafire will work just fine until then. :)
