Did I purchase the complete release with all of its expansions to never be able to play it.
I was able to do an online chat last evening and the tech person at EA said he would email me instructions to fix my problem but he never emailed them and now I do not even have access to that function any longer. I simply cannot log in at all.

Try shutting down your computer completely. Start the computer again, then try launching Origin and see if that helps.
If the issue remains, try uninstalling and reinstalling origin and see if that helps.

Thanks for your response, I have already tried shutting down and starting up again many times but have not done a reinstall so I guess that is next.

I am very frustrated and lost. I just don't know what is going on as prior to this, I never had an issue playing the game through Origin.
Try right clicking the origin icon on the desktop and click " run as administrator " .
Test to see if that helps the issue.

My sims seem to keep getting stuck I place them on a empty lot they interact fine, as soon as I put down the house I can get one more action out of them then that is it, they are stuck. I try to reset them but they never complete the action I request. They don't move at all, just stand there stuck. I looked at the exception file but I'm not even sure what to look for.

Does this occur on all lots or only one lot?
If it occurs with all lots, there are a few things to do to see if helps.
If you have cc/mods in your game, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and see if the issues are still there.
Sometimes having a large amount of items in the sims inventories and household inventory can cause issues. Try removing some of the items from the inventories and see if that helps.
Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.
Lower your graphics settings and see if that helps.
Check to make sure that your graphics drivers are up todate
If the issues remain,try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" or " options " file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder

Seems that mod was not the issue problem is still there will have to try the other suggestions
Is the issue occurring on all lots? If you haven't already done this, have the sims move to another lot, and see if the issues remain.

Something else to try is deleting your localthumbcache file from your game, this is a junk file and stores weird stuff on it, it is not needed for the game to run and the game will make a new file.

Are you using like some sort of mobile broadband? I used to have one of those USB internet things for my laptop and for some reason one day, Origin would not recognize that it was online. I had to bring my laptop to school to use the school wifi just to update my games, etc.
Eventually I had to change to a home broadband and only then it started working.
I don't know if it's just your internet subscription that is causing this, but try to go through what the others said and see if it works.
No I am running on the same broadband as before which is my desktop wifi and a nighthawk router, on downdetect.com, it does show on the map that there is server trouble in central Florida and my facebook is down again today as well so maybe it is just a server issue, problem is, EA denied that there are any server issues anywhere in the world, the other night in chat. Yet, on downdetect, there are endless complaints about not being able to log in. I am going to contact my internet provider to see if there is anything going on, on their end. Thanks for the response. I have re installed Origin, I ran it as administrator and I checked to see that my lan connections are not running by proxy, but still no results.
It may be that server issues are causing this to occur. I hope that the issue will resolve itself for you soon.
