Did My Sims Just Say Boysha Moi?

That's Russian. Now before anyone gets all up in arms over this, I am more than aware that Simlish is a mish-mash of several, if not all, languages of this world. Sometimes, it's just not as clear as this was. I have caught some English, too, more so than in the previous iterations.

Please share any words or phrases you recognize, no matter what the language. ;)

I noticed that the vendors in CL sometimes call out something that sounds "Your money!" then a bunch of simlish words. Thought I was imagining things so I asked my sister to listen and she confirmed this. Gave us a good chuckle :D

I remember in the older sim games (either 1 or 2) If the sims weren't into doing something you asked them to, they'd say "No" lol and i'd laugh like "waaaah! what do you mean no?!" lol

The "yabolka" we heard a lot of in TS3 (I don't think I've heard it in 4 yet) sounds a lot like "yabloka" which is apple in Russian. "Dag dag" means day by day in Danish, and I think dag means day in Swedish & Norwegian as well.

It sounds like they say, "watch me now", when dribbling a basket ball. At least that is what I hear. :p

Although you are right that dag is also Swedish for day, it is not pronounced the same as it is spelled, the G is silent, I don't hear "day" in Swedish when sims say dag dag.

@lilonesub True, but in Norwegian, the G isn't silent. Even though we spell it the same way, we don't pronounced it the same as the Swedes do :)

I think that's also true for Danish, but it's what typing dag dag into google translate comes up with. :)

Well, then there's "blah, blah, blah." Not sure what is with that, but it always makes me want to laugh.

And i wasn't trying to sound mean, I haven't heard so much simlish sounding like real words in the sims 4 but heard a lot of it in the sims 3, it is fun to try and make out what the sims are saying. I loved the dark wave radio station from the Supernatural EP, I have found their English counterparts eg the song Laura Palmer by Bastille sounds like "Walking ou en tede dah, Cooting ou a difa pa, Loom ba ya be be har", Which translates to "Walking out into the dark, Cutting out a different path, Led by your beating heart".

I don't recall hearing anything that sounded Russian in the game yet, but I'll keep a heads up for it. I did hear some English-sounding words in the Sims 3, though. It completely threw me off, ha ha.

when sims smell stinky stuff, they'll say sth like "Eww, dat's grobble". to me it pretty much = eww that's gross.XD
Also, in one of the toddler sentences, surprisingly they'll say "Whey shan ma xxxx(chu pa, yo bay)", which sounds awfully lot like a dialect version of "Whey shen ma" (为什么) in Chinese, which means "why"XD i feel weird every time i hear it, but i like it! XD

Sometimes when my sims call the family to a meal they say "nam nam", which makes me smile because that's exactly what we norwegians say when we think something tastes good. Like "yummy".

In my home language, Afrikaans, which is quite similar to Dutch and Flemish, "dag" means "day" but we pronounce the g as a glottal, grating ggggg sound lol.
