Ok, so ordered this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/302192911589

and I want to get this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sims-3-Game-Lot-of-9-Showtime-Pets-Paradise-Fast-Lane-Suite-High-End-/182571229474?hash=item2a8217e122:g:-uUAAOSwmgJY6~iW&autorefresh=true

Posted both links in the FB group I frequent looking for opinions...but someone said since they are used, that's "not a good thing."

I'm lost, I thought used expansion disks can be used with a pre-Origin base game. Do I have to get an unopened version of each expansion now? Or are people confused with the EA purge (that I got caught in, which is why I looking for clarification).

@igazor @phoebebebe13
- HELP PLEASE!

    The used expansion discs cannot be registered to a new owner, but they do not require Origin either. I guess it depends on what the goal is here. Personally I wouldn't buy used discs unless I already had my own valid registration and just wanted the install media.

    That is the original base game collectors edition. That does not require origin. You can add used eps to it and not play with origin as long as those used discs have their codes. If they don't have their codes you won't be able to use them . If they are used with codes you won't be able to register them and get a free download copy. Your not looking for the free download copy since you don't want your game on origin anyway.

    @igazor op is trying to play without origin. It wont matter if the eps are used as long as they are playable and come with their codes. All that matters is the base game. I bought all my eps and packs new but some people can't afford new if trying to rebuy the whole game on disc. The EP discs sealed some are still very expensive. I bought the KP version of showtime on disc. It was cheaper than the other showtime version. I got the KP version for $9 on an amazon sale

    @MadIris If you want new EPs try Walmart, Target, Amazon. and ebay. Compare prices. @Simasaurus09 said they have them at physical target not on line. Walmart may have them too . I remember Walmart selling them for $5 each at a moment in time. That may still be the case. Target also

    The only worry is you want to make sure the used copy comes with a code and is in readable condition. That's what the person on FB was hinting at. Sealed brand new is obviously almost twice the price as used so it's understandable that you want to buy used.

    The Target near me has a few EPs in-store that weren't listed on the site. If you want to look there I recommend calling beforehand just to be sure. I saw them for $19.99 USD each... but I bought sealed new on Amazon and eBay instead for cheaper. Any Walmart near me was sold out so again, call your local stores.

    One of the eBay shops I purchased new from was great. They sent my order out immediately first-class free shipping and under $19.99 USD. Store is closed until the 31st if you're still looking by then. I don't remember which packs they had in stock.
