I just finished my first play through of this challenge (I started it once but didn't make it far) and I got a score of 252. Here is my winner, Annalisa.
I'm starting this challenge right now! There is one thing I was wondering about though. Since they can't leave the house and I noticed that in order to make money via writing, they need the mailbox- which you can't place indoors. So I was wondering if it would be within the guidelines to fence in the front porch so they can't leave that, keep a door to the porch, and have the mailbox (and outdoor trashcan) on the porch that they can get to?
Just did this challenge. Final score was 282. My girl, Trisha Carnes, had the insane trait, the neat trait, and the creative trait. I chose insane because it makes the social aspect less of an issue and neat because slobby sims drive me insane. Creative simply to get her inspired more. With aspiration points and completed aspiration trees, I also added Thrifty, Handy, Savant, Never Weary, Shrewd, Creative Visionary, and Poetic. I had turned off aging simply because it wasn't that kind of challenge.
It was fun, for the most part. It was annoying to see just how many ambition trees actually have a job or leaving the house included, though.
For recap, at the point of completing the Mansion Baron aspiration tree, I was at 282 points!
Are you alloweed to socialise through the computer
That's a good question. I would have to assume not since nobody seems to do that and it would be the logical way to get social. I used the microphone and a stuffed animal since she was childish. Also, when their gardening skill gets to 4(?) they can talk to plants. If you make a loner they won't need as much social.
I used the computer to chat. The "chat" interaction does not add anyone to your relationship panel. "Trolling teh forums" is also good for raising Social, but you do need to buy the first Mischief skill book. The best I've found is the microphone. "Telling jokes" raises Social and Fun.
.
I did make a few tweaks. His living space is 8x8, but he can go out of the living area (not outside the lot, though) to do certain activities, such as the rocket, observatory, and microscope. I also moved his garden out of the area once he maxed gardening and Freelance Botanist. A gardener does come in to water, weed, and spray the plants. My sim does not talk to him or otherwise interact with him. I also used a mod to permit him to collect items (It places rock formations and fallen logs in the debug menu which then can be placed on the lot. In addition, I used debug and moveobjects to place a corner of a fishing hole in his compound.)
He has completed 5 Aspirations, a total of 36 Aspiration levels, and maxed 10 skills. He is on week 20. No critical needs and no utilities shut off. In addition he has complete 2 collections (Postcards and Space Prints).
.
Right now all he needs is $130,000 in order to build the final additions to his house.

I decided to do the challenge again. Just finished with a score of 244 beating out my previous score of 217. You can read it all here if you're interested. The Room
Sorry if this has been asked already, but what About online chat?
Online chat (not to a specific Sim) does build social but does not increase relationships so yes it is allowed. Using the Microphone to tell jokes also fills social and gains comedy skill.

I have done this challenge so many times I have lost count. Somehow I lose track of points but really find it a fun way to start a new game. I even incorporated it into a Challenge Mashup to begin a short legacy.

@katoregama Thank you for this challenge, I really like it and have just started it. I understand our Sim never physically meets anyone during the challenge, but how about online chatting/postcards/online gaming? I've made it "easier" for myself as my Sim is insane and talks to herself *giggle* but I would think online gaming (using City Living) should be OK... as its not actually pursuing a relationship per se?
Also, it's going to be interesting to see how fun this can be with Pets - it's not quite the same to live by yourself with your pet, I wonder if the challenge still applies (at least for a relatively lazy cat, I think dogs should have more space)?

I was wondering if animals are allowed. I think it would be a huge help for social. I think I will try it and see.

Thank you for creating this.
Nevermind. I just remembered you can't capture your own saga.
