Love It Or List It Building Challenge

Okay so I will give credit to this mod the sims post who made it like a legacy: http://modthesims.info/t/550544

This isn't a legacy type challenge which is why it is going here and not in the stories/legacies forum. You do not need to create sims, if you would like to just build.

Do feel free to create the actual families, and maybe the couple of a designer and a realtor.

This is for mostly sims 3, or sims 4, but I'm sure yo can do this on the sims 2 if you please.

Basically the idea of the challenge is to build really lovely houses for your happy sims. If you have ever watched the hgtv show of Love It Or List It. The show premise is where there is a house that a family is willing to sell because it does not fit to the family's needs, or they might want a bigger home. So in this challenge, I will be giving you a run-down home to make over, and your job is to build nicer houses. You do not have to build more than one house if you don't want to, because I know how long it takes to build one house already.

I will have different types of challenges, like to build a beach house, or build a gothic home under so and so price. You can have the community pick if you should keep the house the family "originally" had, or list it for the other home(s). And the renovation I will be giving you can be under any price you want, or if you want to challenge yourself and give yourself a budget.

CC is allowed, but I would suggest not using it in case people who want to possibly download your home do not want CC in their games.
Challenge #1

Here is the first Love It Or List It Challenge:

Build a home for a single sim, or newly wed couple. This house must fill these requirements:

2 bedrooms

1 computer/office room

2 full bathrooms

One story home

Price of $45,000

If you wold like, you may add a basement/or a garage for cars.

Preferred to be in Moonlight Falls, but you may put the house anywhere you please.

This is the rundown home you will redo for the first challenge:

My rules are as followed:

You may not remove any exterior walls, you can add on to them and resize them as you please.

You can take out any interior walls you please.

You may add any furniture you please. You may add custom content if you want to, but keep in mind some players like to be custom content free.

You may add any landscaping, a pond, a pool, if you want.

Side note, I have most expansion packs, if you do not have any of those EPs listed on the exchange, that's okay, I will try to keep the rundown homes as base game as possible.

You can always make a sim/family to move into one of these homes.

The new home has a budget of $100,000, it may be a two story if you would like, you may add any landscaping, any bedrooms/bathrooms you would like to.

Oooooh! I'm interested! I love revamping homes but I'm not as great of a builder. Mine would all be Sims 3 as that's the only sims game I play.

I also really like watching Love it or List it... but my favorite is Fixer Upper (which I was thinking about doing a challenge of). Definitely going to be watching this thread!

I love all the shows on HGTV. I'd be interested in doing a fixer up challenge! And this is to to see builders of all levels help each other out and to improve in general. I also have the first house for the sims 3 ready to be redecorated.

I'm about to attempt this challenge, but I have a question: I know what the must haves are for the new house, but are they the same must haves for the old house?

I may attempt this for TS2 soon, probably for premades, or bin houses. (A shocking number of the houses we were provided with in TS2 are not adequate for the sims they were made for... or just poorly designed.) I've got it bookmarked so I don't forget.

... Actually I think this would be excellent for Veronaville.

Sounds good @Scribal_Goddess I remember sims 2! It was fun.

The new house can be built anyway you'd like, it just needs to be under 100,000 simoleons.

Do you have a rundown house for Sims 4 or does the one for Sims 3 need to be downloaded and duplicated in 4?

I will create a sims 4 version right now, sorry I've been busy with school. Don't worry I haven't forgotten about the sims 4 @Pyur_Jenius @jedipwnces
