I really want to change my profile picture to the one below but it says i need 50 points and 30 posts. I'm brand new to this website but not the Sims 4. Can someone tell me how to do anything on this website such as post and get points?

When you make a comment in a thread on the forums, it is counted as a " post". You have posted by making that comment.
You receive a point each time another simmer presses like or awesome or insightful on a post that you have posted. Keep posting on the different sections of the forums and you will soon get the points/posts. The off topic section is a good place to start posting . http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/categories/off-topic-chat
You will soon get the required points and posts if you also post about your simming experiences on threads that you are interested in the thread topics.

For any New members who what to get their post count up, the best thing that I would advise you to do is to find threads that may interest you and join in on them or go to the Off Topic section and join in on some of the word/story games over there. The posts made over in the forum section will go towards your post count whereas the posts made on your wall and the Activity Feed doesn't go towards the total post count. The only thing that you will get if you should make any post over on your wall or Activity Feed will be any Insightfuls, Likes or Awesomes as they will go towards your total points count. Hopefully creating your posts on other threads will also increase your points...
To any new members... (not that long ago since I was a new member...) post and post lots. Most of us will help those who are new to get their point count up. And above all...patience. Just as others have said, find subjects with the search bar on the Sims forum (there's a lot of them) that you want to talk about and comment on those threads...that will get your post count up quickly and your point counts will follow.
Take it from a member of the...
Yep... did the whole 50/30 thing TWICE! And that was only because my first account glitched out. I like my second account (name and points) much better.
To post an image, use its full URL. Go to the image at a hosting service, right click it and open the Properties menus. Next, highlight the full address (URL), copy the URL and then paste it into the subject area in a forum post. For the image to appear, you MUST include the .jpg extension
It may seem stupid to you but this is EA's way of protecting the site users from unwanted trolls who want to make our experience here on this site very unpleasant by posting adult images as their avatars and in threads that either they created or in existing threads. So EA added these points/posts and time limit requirements for all new members but at the time they were still able to create new threads until the 2016 spambot attacks took over the site as the spammers would post anywhere from 20-40 threads within minutes from one another. So EA took away the New Discussion button for new members until they meet the requirements. The system is to root out any would be trolls before they can cause anymore damage on the site. And banning them didn't help since it's so easy for anyone to create a new account on this site since there isn't any game registration required for the site. The spammers would create new accounts after being banned only for them to create more after their 2nd ban and so forth until they got tired of creating new accounts and then they just give up and go somewhere else to troll at.
I've been thinking. In Sims 4 one can take pictures and save them so why oh why didn't they provide a way of pasting them to the forum directly instead of all this imgur, photobox stuff? The pictures could be of standard size and load better and quicker.
Hello @chatpab
Welcome to the forums! You need to have 25points and 15 posts before you can become a full member and can then change your profile picture , post pictures, have a signature, start new threads, edit posts , post links that show up correctly, and have quotes appear in grey boxes ,This thread explain about it. http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/934205/small-change-for-new-members#latest
When you are a full member, you can post pictures that appear and links that show up correctly.
But... do you need the image hosted somewhere? I expect that is the question that some are asking, and I have a few things I would like clarified about that, if anyone would like to. I have tried two methods and only one worked.
• I added the image in my Google Drive. I gave it full public viewing permissions. The sharable link does not create the image when added into the post as a url or in the 'insert image link' area in the post ...it just produces the link to the image.
• So... for now I just uploaded the image to my business' WordPress media library and used that image url. That works fine. Method: Insert using the 'insert image' icon in the post or by placing the image link between image 'tags' (shortcode) of [img][/img]
BUT... I just wanted to clarify that it needs to be hosted somewhere (unless I'm missing something), because my 'hosting' it on my Google Drive obviously doesn't work.
If the image does require a 'home' (hosting somewhere on the web) perhaps what people want to know is what are good options if you don't have your own website media library? What are some of the popular hosting options for those users who want to know that?

@IzabelPlaying,
Hello and welcome to the forums...
In order to be able to posts pictures and have an avatar, you first need to become a full member because as of right now you are considered a new member. New members are restricted to start new threads, post pictures, links, have an avatar or change one, sending private messages to other members. In order to become a full member, you will need to have 25 points, 15 posts and an account older than 24 hours.
