An (amazing) writer once said in an interview she'd put a part of herself in each character. So even if she chooses a bad trait of herself, it makes them human just as you say. That's an interesting thought because when I think about it, that's true for me, too
Yes, I remember GRRMartin said the same thing about his characters--he infuses both good and bad qualities in every character. I think that is a great way to operate. Makes them seem more realistic, I guess.

Winter is probably being so hurt by her mistake right now, that the mere thought of telling the truth makes her shiver. If it was just a kiss, well, that would be bad but manageable...but it was not.
Paxton does not seem to be planning anything. He would have spilled the beans already if it was the case.
What I think it's gonna happen:
Pax will bring booze to the trip, will get emotional talking about his marriage problems, they both will drink, and THEN he will be drunk enough to tell Jackson what happened. This might or not end up with the friends fighting/distancing themselves and divorce of one or both couples.

It's weird that Pax has the evil trait (or so I've heard). He does seem like he can be an a*ss, but not...evil. I really hope he doesn't do anything evil. These poor characters are going through enough.
I think of Pax like my Amazon character, Aulani. He had the evil trait and would tend to do evil things, but internally, he struggled with himself. So, Pax is not pure evil...and you will see redeeming qualities in him. Chalk it up to life experiences and hanging out with good friends (not Mickey). But Pax has a tendency to do things good characters wouldn't. Like sleep with his best friend's wife...Jackson would never do that no matter the temptation!
Winter will really get sick with a depression, if she will not say the truth... But I'm very worried that she'll not get that chance and her husband will know about her and Paxton earlier than she'll decide to talk to him.

It's a SAFE chapter...in fact, it'll be safe for a while...well, probably two chapters anyway...
I can't decide what Pax is up to here. He's either trying to be genuinely helpful, even if a bit naive if he didn't see that Jackson would jump to the possible conclusion that Winter was cheating on him, or he's trying to sow the seeds of doubt and resentment in Jackson - doubt of Winter's fidelity and resentment that he might have to give up his beloved band because of her...
And Pax says he doesn't want a divorce, but he seems to barely even like Luci, let alone love her - so what gives there? If he does love Luci, he doesn't seem to be making much of an effort to keep the relationship afloat - sitting on a seat in a counseling office seems to be like a tick in the box for him rather than genuinely a way to mend the marriage - though I can imagine having the counselor's words quoted back at you all the time would get annoying - but at least Luci is paying attention!
I feel like Paxton at least has a measure of regret for what happened. He is Jackson's best friend at this point in their lives after all.
I'm betting he regrets his night with Winter for what it may have done to his friend's marriage even while at the same time wishing things could be different for him.
I have no doubt in his mind he's already moved on from Luci. But I don't doubt he feels genuine when trying to help Jackson keep this together. He wants Winter no doubt but I doubt he wants to be the home wrecker and would step aside if Wintson has a chance.
Jackson is being naive here. He sees what Winters going through but isn't willing to make this sacrifice he knew what she was like when the broke up due to his touring before. Seven years is a very long time to ask someone to put up with life on the road. You've already said you are nominated for five awards. Let that be enough and save your marriage.
I'm pleasantly surprised that Pax hasn't gotten drunk on this trip, and has instead encouraged Jackson to spend more time with his wife. He's being a bit pushy--Jackson is at the height of his career, after all--but I guess he has good intentions despite being evil? I wonder if this will cause Jackson's suspicions to grow, and if he'll confront Winter...
I also really wonder if it's possible for Pax and Luci's marriage to be salvaged at this point. I really like Luci, so I'm sad she and Pax are apparently so miserable together.
