I like this thread! I normally only really play a single sim and then if I get them to have a baby, i normally start to find it boring - I think its cause I like the struggle of my sims having no money and generally they only have children once they've reached the top of their careers. I also have a problem with letting my sims die, I hate it, I don't let it happen, it makes me feel sad, so usually I just start a new game and in my mind, my little simmys in my old saves just carry on living there lovely little lives. So yeah I don't really do generational play.
Having said all that, this thread has made me want to go and create loads of sim babies over different generations! I want to see what kind of sim I'm left with
Soooo......I'll post again in this thread later in the week...once my Sims get it on are created
@KayosCatalyst Adorable kids! For me it's hard to tell how much they resemble their parents until they are teens as kids' faces tend to soften features that are more obvious as they get older.
@Supersoph13 I look forward to seeing the kids Letting them die gets easier. I never could in the beginning. Now, although I am sad to see favourite sims die, look forward to seeing what the next generation brings. I also keep the headstones on the lot so that helps because I get to see their ghosts and it's comforting to know they are never really gone
Ah, I kinda forgot about posting in this. Ooops!
I've been busy creating/editing over 40 sims for my world so that's where my mind has been. I should *fingers crossed* be finished with them now so I will finally get around to it. It also means I have quite a few households to reproduce from edit: err but I won't post pictures of all of them haha.
That is a strong jaw, but it looks good. You always have nice Sims @Mikezumi
My sim, Melissa Keller (formally Morgana Wolff) has been left to raise 3 teenagers all on her own after her 'unlucky' husband Trevor died by fire. (I didn't do it, story progression did! and mastercontroller and I may have set it up to happen in CAW )
@Supersoph13 Thanks for sharing pics of your family Sorry I didn't see this sooner. My notifications don't seem to be working
The kids are a great blend of their parents! I particularly like Chaz
@Mikezumi Your Sims look so amazing I like the fact that some of them have very distinct and unique features. I'm not good with putting prominent features on my sims at all but you nailed it. Genetics work out really well for you too. I especially like Knox and Cliff
@GaiaHypothesis: Amazingly gorgeous and realistic sims. I can't make realistic looking sims for the life of me
Also, great sims everyone. Proof of how awesome TS3 genetics are. Can't wait to share pics
@AmusedShadow Thank you I like sims with unique features because you can more readily see the genetics at play. When I play "pretty" sims with features that don't stand out, I find that I get bored after several children even though they look good because too much "pretty" can get pretty dull
Looking forward to when you can share your pics as I do love to see how genetics play out for others

Thank you for the advice I admit I am guilty of making my sims "pretty" all the time haha. I wonder if it's partially because I'm a long time manga/anime and Final Fantasy fan. They're known for their soft, idealized aesthetics, so it kinda imprinted in my brain there, and when I sculpt my sims they would turn out to have soft, idealized features as well But I will take notes and introduce bolder and more unique sims to the gene pool in the future Maybe making over some townies or something.
Also you do have a point there about getting bored there... I made a lot of "pretty", model-like sims in TS4 and would get bored after a few sim days lol. That hasn't happened to my TS3 sims though.
And great picture of Cliff and Jordan How do they still manage to be good-looking even as elders
@AmusedShadow Alexei and Valeriana are lovely and the kids are totally adorable I can't wait to see what the kids look like grown up! Thanks for sharing your pics
As for having lots of kids, I can totally identify! I have to force myself to stop
Clifford and Jordan's 6th child, Eilish, aged up to YA. Except for her colouring, she is very much like her brother Finnian (who is my favourite of the kids).
ooh, such pretty sims! i'm not playing any legacies at the moment, though i might post some of kerry kasmir's 30 kids from my 100-baby challenge.
@Mikezumi i know exactly the horrid green-brown hair colour you're talking about; i cringe every time i see one of my sims end up with it, and i've been searching for a word to describe it, but i like your description better. you nailed it lol.
@coco Thank you Finnian is my favourite of the kids too Unfortunately I wasn't thinking when I set him up with a girl or he would be heir. It's not that I don't like his wife Darla but I simply cannot play female sims for extended periods and might be tempted to kill her if she annoyed me. I don't care what this says about me, but it's the simple truth
As I have with the others, I will be taking family snaps when he has kids. As a matter of fact, his first child should be born when I next fire up my game
Declan and Teresa's twin girls, Karin (dark hair) and Grace aged up to teen today. Torrance is still a teen and the child, Sam, was born after I took the last family pics.

I think I'm going to start off with my current favorite household. They have 6 kids already but it's very tempting to let them have more.
Parents: Alexei and Valeriana
Their children, from oldest to youngest:
Valentina
Serafina
Andrei
Yuliana
Ivan
(Think I need to change his hair to black since there are already so many blondes in the town )
Natalya
Valentina has just aged up into a teen and I haven't got a good picture of her yet. The rest are still children and toddlers
As for having lots of kids, I can totally identify! I have to force myself to stop
