Need for graveyard

I think we need a graveyard soon or is there a way to create one?

I had a party and almost all the sims at the party went outside to mourn these sims (who they do not know)

I've tried fencing the graves off lol

About the Graveyard concept... While there may not be a graveyard but seems in place of it EA made it so at night at select places there are ghosts of random sims who died around town... The Bar like areas, have ghosts hanging out dancing & socializing.

Since they didn't add them with vampires, I doubt they will add them in the future. Anything can happen, though.

The reason why graveyard is not existed might be the same reason why toddler came late. They probably want to think of the best way to present the graveyard, think carefully about their functionality and avoid them to be plain and taking so much memory. I really don't think it's completely removed because it's one of simmer's favorite spot.

    Me too! For the deathfish...

If, in the future of TS4, they fleshed out ghosts more thorough in an expansion, or even a game pack, cemeteries would make a terrific comeback.

I miss TS2-style ghosts. TS3 and TS4 ghosts aren't really even spirits, but more of spectral living beings- they hold no character value of a true ghost. I mean, normal sims can befriend ghosts and ghosts in general should not need a full needs bar. Eliminate hunger, bladder and hygiene. Energy could work differently as in- energy must be high enough to materialize, move objects, scare sims, and make contact with normal sims. Fun needs could be based on haunting. And social needs could work off of speaking to other ghosts, or sims who have the 3rd eye (an aspiration trait award that only sims who have this unique trait can see, speak, and become friends with ghosts).

Ghosts could have their own skill just like vampires have Vampire Lore skill. Ghosts have a Haunting skill that once mastered they're Legend Poltergeists. A ghost death (speaking of death after living) would be captured by a ghost hunter. Once your playable ghost is captured there is no return to the living, unless they receive an aspiration reward that made them immune from being captured. Ghosts also had their own profession- Haunting. Tasks that popped up for them to haunt certain locations that unlocked special game-play objects like "Haunted Mirror" where they can appear to normal sims through the mirror. And of course, a hidden lot or a ghost neighborhood like Forgotten Hollow except it was a spirit world that ghosts could navigate between their home world and the living worlds.

And that's where cemeteries could come into play. Normal sims could perfect their ghost hunting skills in the cemetery. Go explore mausoleums for artifacts/grave robbing for heirlooms (which I don't condone grave robbing). Those with the Third Eye trait can go befriend a ghost in the cemetery. We could have real functioning funerals in the cemetery, as well as an option for "Put to Rest" so if you don't want a ghost of a family member lingering they have a final resting place. Maybe cemeteries could have their own Nexus trait where the energy in the cemetery is extremely powerful on certain nights where our Ghost Hunters can go collect spirits.

All I really want with cemeteries is more fleshed out ghosts that have a real purpose with more in-depth game-play in a paranormal game pack- Ghosts

    WOW i LOVE your ideas!!

Especially funerals in the cemetery ! That would definitely be new gameplay to be introduced I remember in TS3 they had funerals but they weren't much to it..

The Graveyard seems kind of redundant right now when you can add your own with all the new tombstones and the Haunted and Vampire Nexus Lot Traits. After all, I made a version of Granite Falls specially designed to appeal to serial killers with hockey masks.Maybe when Maxis stops thinking things like bowling alleys are so important and put a little more focus on the other Supernatural traits we'll get a real one.
Every time a pack comes out, I upgrade my Special Project.

Considering that the current worlds cannot be edited (I may be mistaken), perhaps graveyards may be added as an entire new world.

Unfortunately, that appears to be the path taken by TS4, and I would not be surprised if future The Sims games have these "alive" ghosts, as opposed to (what I consider to be) the proper ghosts from TS1 and TS2.

Maybe they will be patched in with the next update since there are vampires in the game now. The base is still being repaired.

If you have Vampires you can build a convincing looking graveyard but I agree we need real cemetaries with their own lot type. I also want the haunted maseleum rabbithole back from TS3.

Bowling Venues are needed. More things for sims to do is good.

It would be nice when the sim passed away it gave you the option send to g/yard or keep urn and then make it to a small urn to keep on fireplace or scatter ashes on your favourite rose bush etc. I'd also like to see black roses ingame.

I made my own grave/y using some of the graves from the vampire pack the smaller metal type fencing and more of the ones from dead sim family members

I set a lot to a museum, and Put some Urns containing my deceased sims on the Museum lot. none have been culled yet. and I remember seeing the ghost roam the halls of the other museum/Chapel I built.

So it might be possible to use a museum lot as a graveyard.

as crazy as it might sound, I might build a mausoleum and have a Sim hibernate in a coffin until I'm ready to "Resurrect" him... but the only flaw i see is when I rotate households, he might wake up and roam the streets. -_-
