Yeah, Why do they even have the Sims 3 Store? They earn enough money from the Sims games. They earned over 70 million dollars in the past 7 days. Not to mention all the money from pre-ordering. They could give those items to simmers, for being such great supports. But EA is to greedy, and wants us to pay more money. *sigh*
I am actually dissapointed by the lack of interesting stuff. So far my favourite download is the end table that comes with books below because it gives a real 'living' feel to my rooms.
Um, I suppose it depends what you dowload. If you keep deciding to download items 100 simoleons each then you're only going to get 10 items for 1,000 points. Some good stuff is only 25 points, like the statue.
Dude, they didn't even have to have a store. They could just limit all the new content to the expansion packs. Instead, you have the option to buy individual items online. And that's exactly what it is - an option. If you don't like it, don't buy them.
Yeah, I'd be very suprised if they don't continue making Stuff Packs; my guess is those will be about the same bang for the buck as the Sims 2 Stuff Packs. My view on the Store is that it's just there for the odd item I might see in there that I decide I want - not as a place where I'm going to be getting all of my content from now on (because obviously it's far too expensive for that purpose.)
I'd imagine the prices will end up dropping a bit eventually. This game just sold, what - 1.4 Million units in the first week? And something like 7 million player-created downloads. I'm not going to make any solid claims about how many Store purchases there's been, but I think it's safe to say there's been quite a lot.
Supply and demand, and all that - once the sales start dropping off, it makes sense that the prices will come down somewhat.
Anyway, I think it'll start to make a bit more sense once the Stuff and Expansion packs start coming out (hopefully soon.) As the only way to get content; this stuff is obviously over-priced. As an optional way to round out the content you've recieved in Stuff/Expansions Packs, or to occasionally buy something that you think looks really neat; I don't think it will be so bad.
In short - I personally am going to reserve judgement until they start putting out the Stuff Packs. If those turn out to be horrendously low in content, or they don't come out with them at all - then I'll start getting a little upset.
Once my $10 free worth of sim points are spent (may take a while since I cant download from the store anyhow) I will be done with the store. I agree that it does seem greedy on ea's part, but they are a bussiness.
In case you haven't noticed, EA is a business and businesses exist to make money. Bottom line. And also, if you haven't noticed, EA's financial standing is not the greatest at the moment, that's why Sims 3 was pushed back; to make sure that could market heavily before its release, and to put it into a different financial quarter.
There are too many of these store complaints. Don't get me wrong- I agree... but realize that EA does not care. They aren't going to bat an eye at the complaints.
They want money. Everyone wants money. I want money. You want stuff for your game. I am not too worried about more material needs for my sims since I can change everything's appearance.
instead of complaining just go to player friendly sites like Modthesims and download free content from them. They don't have much yet but they will. They are friendlier and do it for fun rather than to make money.
I know they should have given us more items- but they don't care. And that really is the bottom line.
Instead of creating more threads to complain about this find the one with the biggest number of replies and keep bumping it to the first page of the forum. Make it rack up replies. Get it in the thousands and millions. Keep adding complaints. They won't be read by EA but at least there will be less threads taking up room.
The game is expensive enough so why do we have to pay money sothat we can get more clothes and hairstyles and furniture. It is wrong.
Lets just remember that we are paying real money for VIRTUALclothes for fake people. Totally stupid and they already have got lots of mony from the sims 3 and even more when the expansion packs come out :P

Needless to say, I'll be saving my points until newer items come out or prices become cheaper.
UPS : It's got items that will never be in any expansion packs, it does have some cool things in it.
DOWNS : anything in the store should not be higher than 50 simpoints, needs abit of reworking.
