Such a very sweet thread. I like your families @Simanite I have a save that revolves around the friendship of two families as well. I was playing it last night for the first time since toddlers hit because one couple wasn't going to have children until toddlers came.
I've spent time building the relationships between the two families though. The two couples have group for going out and dining together. I also plan on making groups with their kids for backyard get-togethers and bbqs.
My couple had twins last night so now I need to go back in to the other household and age up the baby they have. ( I keep aging off for my played households.)
@fullspiral Thank you! Your game sounds wonderful. I love playing those of stories too, and I'm so happy to revisit my favourite families again now toddlers are here.

I made the save specifically for these two families and their interconnected lives as families and friends.
lol, I had a dilemma last night as to which save I wanted to start up! My vampire save? Or this one for toddlers and families. So hard to decide!

Toddlers for the win!
But why did the game up the chances of twins and triplets? I just wanted 1!
There are a lot of comments that I read about TS4 that don't particularly correlate with my own experiences with the game, particularly regarding family play and the Sims themselves.
I think that most people on here know just how much I miss toddlers, and I do find their omission to have a negative bearing on my gameplay. However, from my own personal experience, I don't think that the statement I have seen that "TS4 has no family gameplay" correlates with my own experiences with playing the game.
For me, it means I don't play families as I find the huge leaps in ages stages to jarring. I really don't like it. I don't want to play without the bonding period of toddlers and teens just look like I missed most of their stage as they look like are ready to turn young adult immediately.
I do like the child stage, but it's obvious to me that EA felt to pressured to get the game out to bother with toddlers and give teens more time for unique animations. I will buy more packs and play families when we get Generations. Other than that I will just play TS3 for a better family experience.
So now we have them and I can finally start playing as I normally do...
Except... just before we got toddlers, I finally got around to reinstalling Skyrim on my computer and giving it a major modding overhaul.
Not even toddlers can pull me away from a modded Skyrim.
@Simanite I'm glad it has been resurrected. I love how you have taken it back to the beginning with the toddlers, Ryan is super cute! I can't wait for the next update

Kimberly Porter looked around the beautiful backyard and gave a contended sigh. This was theirs.
She called her mother in Windenburg to tell her that they had settled in as her husband, Gary, brought out their son Ryan.
It was time to explore!
"We're going to have a good life here, little man."
"Mommy, I like it here."
"Me too."
There was a knock on the door - their neighbour Jerome had come round to welcome them to the neighbourhood.
"Let's go see who was at the door."
Jerome explained that he and his wife had a small son, too. And Kimberly invited them around for a playdate one day soon!
"New fwiends!"
Gary is training to be a chef, but for their first meal in the new house he went with something simple.
Grilled cheese!
The food of love.
Team work makes a tidy home.
Ryan is happy there is plenty of space to master the art of running.
Bath time!
Don't eat the ducky.
"It's bed time, baby."
But not before a story.
Tucked in and kissed goodnight, Ryan is very cosy in his new bed.
Across the hall, Kimberly and Gary enjoy their new bed too!
Perhaps working on a little sister?
Defo gonna give that a look!!

Yeah, I did on page 1

Then it was playtime with dad!
"Daddy has to go to work now, scamp."
"But I want Daddy to stay!"
"I'll be back soon."
Uh oh. That face doesn't look good...
Aww.
"Come on baby, let's go outside. Mommy wants to start her garden"
WHAT IS THAT?!
I don't know what it is, but it looks fun.
Mommy's little helper.
"Water! Water!"
Gardening with Mom is thirsty (and hungry!) work, phew!
"I can be a airplane!"
Beddy byes.
And time for Kimberly to unwind with a glass of nectar and a corny movie.
The next morning, Ryan had a little "accident" with his first breakfast.
"Why can't I throw food on the floor, Daddy?"
"Just because."
Learning about nature with Mommy.
But he still seems more interested in the airplanes!
Gary had the evening off from the restaurant, so he got Ryan ready for bed.
Gary and Kimberly were happy to have a little time to themselves...
...But when it actually came, they were at a loss for what to do!
"It seems so quiet without him."
So Gary decided to fill the quiet with his serenading!
Ryan soon broke the silence the next morning.
"I hope he doesn't cry when I go to work again."
"He'll be fine, Gary."
Because they were headed on a little trip! Off to meet their neighbours - Jerome's wife, Aleah, and their son Easton.
"Oh my gosh, I've been craving adult conversation that wasn't my husband for SO LONG. Hi!"
"You're telling ME. Hi!"
"Go and say hello to Ryan, Easton."
"What is this strange thing?"
Eep.
Ryan decided to hide his face so no one could see him...
...But he risked a little look.
And it wasn't long until they started warming to each other.
"I hope we get to play again soon."
Maybe one day they'll grow up to be best friends.
@brackencat31 Aw, thank you! And that's lovely to hear.
