When are they going to announce a Cars Game Pack? That's the missing part.

Whereas in the past, you would get a complete expansion that really encompassed the theme it was going for, EA is charging us absurd prices for all of that content split up over a long period of time. You now have to pay near 100 dollars for an experience that is similar, and by no means a vast improvement over their predecessor versions, for the same content. As it stands, a similar TS2: Nightlife experience in TS4 (previously a pack about 40 dollars) would set you back $110, and you would still be missing content from Nightlife.
What's even worse is the base game is still in no state to justify this nickel and diming.
If you still own S2 & S3, it's not the past. You can go play S2 & S3 and enjoy all the EPs just the way you like them and not have to deal with the horror that you believe S4 to be.
And that's exactly what I do. However, rest assured, I am still going to criticize what I feel are the wrongdoings of this franchise.
Bowling as a stuff pack? That's random asf. I would think putting that in a freetime expansion would be more better..(just my opinion though). I'm super excited for the vamps tho!
The vampire lady's clothes look awesome and gothic. Not sure if the hair is new but it's cute too. I'm not really interested in the bowling stuff pack so far, I'll have to see more. Here's hoping it comes with a bowling alley venue and isn't just some object you can put in your yard

I think it's showing how boring life is staying at home watching tv and eating cereal, and how fun it is instead to go out bowling with some friends. Start a bowling league club.
I'm not into bowling in RL, but it looks like a fun group activity for my Sims, and I'm always looking for group activities for my families. I guess they put bowling in an SP because it's not as popular as it was, say, 15 years ago. If Sims 4 is truly marketed towards teens, the higher-ups may think bowling isn't that attractive to them. SPs appear to have very niche themes.
So vampires and bowling that should of been in City Living are now sold separately got to love Sims 4.
"should have been" is only your opinion. Maybe they divided them out so people wouldn't have stuff forced on them that they complained about last time.
Or maybe they divided them out for extra cash $20 game pack $10 stuff pack and we got a empty expansion funny you think they care about the players.

While you're busy comparing, let's see here, 3 different EPs with completely different themes and trying to say that they are all the same pack, why not do the same for other games EPs too? Didn't TS3 split up Superstar when they decided to make both Late Night and Showtime, splitting up becoming a celebrity with, you know, doing things celebrities actually do? And let's not forget that they cut out restaurants from Late Night too, even though they were in Hot Date, instead deciding to cut that out and sell it on the store as a half-done venue. So let's see, we're up to, what, 100$ now? They also cut out bowling that was in Nightlife and decided to throw it into University from some strange odd reason, put actual vampires into Supernatural, so 180$ now is it?
This is the same logic you're using for TS4, using everything from 3 different EPs against one single EP from TS4, and asking for it to have all the exact same features that existed in these three distinctly different EPs.

Bowling is one of my favorite activities in the sims, so I'm interested... Vampires I don't know, I'd like to see if they will infest every save automatically, the last thing I want from TS4 is a supernatural infestation like we had in TS3.

They can do all this but can't do Toddlers?
Toddlers are a lifestage, needs a lot of animations etc, but adding a bowling alley and the ability to bowl is just an everyday object that people use, I know what you're saying, I still want my little darling tots back into my game but I can only hope that one day they'll be back(toddlers) but until then I'm happy just playing my game and doing recolours for Sims 4(Custom Content)!
