Large amount of wedding bugs?

So I just had a full wedding event for the first time (non-prestige). I have always eloped in the past but i wanted a wedding this time. First off none of the services I hired showed up but they did take my money. I hired a caterer, mixologist, and a musician and none of them showed up. Then only four of the nine sims would sit down for the ceremony. Then when I went to eat the cake, it said I had to wait for the newlyweds to have the first slice. is my sims not a newlywed? I figured the first issues were bugs but is it possible I am doing something wrong with the cake?

I had the wedding at the park in the city.

EDIT: I figured out the cake, i guess I had the cake on a coffee table which did not allow them to do the animation i guess. I moved it to a regular table and the option to cut the cake was there. Services never showed up.

I am sorry that you had these issues at the wedding.
With the issue with the hired staff not arriving, it would be good to post feedback or press " me too " on this thread on the AHQ EA site that refers to the issue

My caterer refused to cook at the wedding, just started dancing so the groom had to fire her and bake the cake himself, then the cleaner arrived and kept putting it in the bin. The Bride and Groom wouldn't go to the wedding arch, as one was supposedly missing, wasn't just talking to guests, had to click on "go here" for both of them to get to the arch before they could be married. What is going wrong with the game?

Even when they do show up, caterers are generally worthless. When possible, it's best to have one of your controlled sims do the cooking for events. Even if you use a caterer, try to prepare a few things in advance if you know the event is likely to require serving or eating food. It will improve your odd of getting gold on the event. Relying on the caterers leaves it to chance.
