Cultural Inclusion

I just wanted to express my happiness over how The Sims 4 has really been including different cultures from around the world - not only am I loving the different fashions, I'm discovering and learning some things about the different cultures and their inclusion in the game has encouraged me to learn more about them, I'm seriously interested in the cultural festivals especially, Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead seems like a very interesting and fun celebration. I hope to see more cultural diversity added to the game! Thank you Sims Team!!! :)

What culture do you, fellow Simmers, want to see included in the game in the future?
Live your life to the fullest, don't wait for a miracle to happen, be the miracle to make things happen.
Sometimes your creativity is limited where you use it most, but you can use those limitations to inspire new forms of creativity you may never have thought of beforehand.

Native American. Sure we can build a sim that looks like one, but there is nothing to back up the culture. I am an American living in the heart of the country and I can't even play the people around me. From the Red Earth Festivals to the Casinos there is so much richness that could be in this game. No I am not of Native American descent.

I can't wait for the clothing in City Living! The traditional Indian clothing especially, because I made a lovely Indian family in my game and tried to give them traditional clothing with what we already have and it was kind of an epic fail xD Bring on the saris and Sherwanis, please!

Same! I always love to learn about different cultures, so I'm happy that they're adding more stuff and clothing related to that <3

I would personally love some focus on the Scandinavian culture. I'm danish myself, so I think it would be really cool to see my culture in the game :)

I absolutely love that they are including more cultures and I hope this is a trend going forward.

As far as cultures, my brother in law and nephew are Puerto Rican so it'd be nice to see some of their foods in the game since we eat a lot of Puerto Rican food at my sister's house.

Yes to this! I'm Finnish myself with a part of my family who are Swedish. I think Finland's not a part of Scandinavia but I'd love to see some culture from Nordic Countries/Scandinavia! I would like to have a Scandinavian inspired world for TS4. I like that TS4 are including different cultures!

I really don't have a preference. One thing I missed about TS3 was the different cultures we had from World Adventures. I'm really happy we're seeing more cultural inclusion as time goes on.

I love it too! I'm glad it's not all picket fences and generic watered down content. I hope to see some Celtic, Tribal (both Native and African), and Gothic cultural items added to the game in the future. I wouldn't mind at all if they expanded upon the items already present as well. I really enjoy the diversity!

Ha ha, if we get an Scandinavian world it better be with seasons :)

December in Kiruna is pretty much darkness for 24 hrs straight

June Kiruna is sun for 24 hrs traight.

I live more to the south in Sweden but when I have lived abroad I have missed having these periods of either more light or darkness. Those dark months when the sun comes out after you got to work and set before you left again, and the snow on the ground reflects the moon is a great contrast to the seemingly endless summer-sun.

For me personally it wouldn't feel like home it if didn't get really really dark and really really light at different times. But hey, there might be a mod for that at some point, I would <3 that.

Just wait for some oversensitive 🐸🐸🐸🐸 to start talking about cultural appropriation.

It would be great to have midnight sun and polar nights with seasons! It's such a big part of the seasons here and when the days get longer, you know that it's spring again. It could even provide different moodlets for the sims. With midnight sun they might get happy or annoyed that it's more difficult to sleep when it's light outside even during the night. I would really love to have a world like that!

If I travel abroad during the summer and it's not similar there, I always catch myself asking things like "why is the sun going down, it's only 10 PM?" So to me it really is something you get accustomed to and miss, too.

Yes! I am so happy that they're including so many different cultures. The European vibe to Windenburg was really unique and I love that City Living is introducing so many different styles and cultures to the game. Finally, I feel like I can create much more diverse sims with unique backgrounds and stories. Also, the Dia de Los Muertos patch was really amazing! The little details like pan de muerto and creating an altar for the dead made it great. TS4 Team is doing a great job so far with including different cultures!!

I want Greek culture/art/food. :) There are so many cultures that would be wonderful to see represented, though.

I actually think its more annoying they decided to "re-envision" the styles. If you want to include clothes from other cultures that's awesome, but I really wish you would also include some of their actual clothing not just your re-done styles. I was hoping for traditional Indian clothing, not their hipster re-envision of it.

I'd really like to see french/provençal, italian/tuscan, spanish, greek, irish and scandinavian food carts and buy items so we can build our own little shops. I'm really really excited about the selection of cultures in CL also though! :)

I'm hoping they'll start giving us some Native American culture also. Hopefully they'll make traditional Indigenous American clothing, and not a headdress for the purpose of a costume. This would go well for when I start to make more Native American sims.

I've always wanted to have a hot tropical world similar to the fictional metling pot of Bali Hai Island. I'm from the South Pacific with a background stretching back to many different parts of the world from Germany, Fiji & Samoa

I was a little skeptical about San Myshuno before it's release but now I absolutely love the Ethno mish-mash of this city.

San Myshuno reminds me so much of my home in Singapore!

I'd really love to see more representation of Southeast Asian culture because, right now, I think the only SEA thing we have in the game is the Vietnamese food cart? Do correct me if I'm wrong.
