Doctor career level 8 task bug

So, my task is to deliver a baby and the bar that says a pregnant sim has arrived has been on my list twice, however, it doesn't notify me nor does the sim show up. I can do house calls and passed out sims, but the pregnant event patient seems bugged.

I think it is a bug in the fact that all the jobs get their sims from the same pool. Food Cart Swag Stall Festivals tourist. Since the clinic is pretty munch active during most festivals you often see a decline in patients for the day. Also, if there is no pregnant sims in the game and the game is over its curling limit than no more pregnant sims ever from clinic. Also you shouldn't be getting the pregnancy emergency, if no pregnant sims are in the game.

I never tried this a possible work around make a non playable sim pregnant and see if they come, they must be marked non playable for the hospital to use.

The game (normally) generates fake pregnancy sims to come in off the streets for your doctor to deliver their temporary babies. Once they leave the hospital, the new born babies no longer exist in the world. I've seen it many, many times before this recent bug. You do not need to have an actual pregnant sim in the world for these events to happen.

My doctor career mods on MTS are designed to increase the chance of all emergencies, including pregnancy. It was working fine up until this recent bug. Now pregnancy events just hang, and no other patients come into hospital either for the rest of the day once the Pregnancy Event is up on the Daily Task Board.

It happens for level 10 docs too, so promoting them is out of the question.

If a Zone Director XML says 10 regular patients come in between 1pm and 6pm, then 10 will come in no matter what any other Zone Director says for any other lot types or events in the game. While playing at the hospital, (or any other lot type for that matter) no other community lot events actually exist in the world, so there are no side effects reducing or increasing the hospital visitor numbers. TS4 is not that dynamic.

I really don't like the fact that it's still an issue after all this time. On the AHQ EA thread, only 96 people clicked on "me too", so it probably won't be fixed as there aren't many people actually reporting the issue. This has messed up my story I had for my Sims, too. If I'd known, I just wouldn't have played the doctor career. Up until I found out about this issue, I really liked that career!

I am so glad I found this thread. Last night I went onto the support and was told that it was "weird" and "I've had a look at the forums and no one else seems to be having this issue." Thanks for the help

Hopefully, with enough people making a noise about this it will get fixed. I really appreciate the fact that it's not just me, now all I need to do is decide if I'm going to cheat my SIM to the next level or start a different story.

It may be best to use the cheat codes to advance your sim to the next career level

Same here! I posted in the German Sim forum also and at EA. The problem is with all jobs from GTW not only the Dr Career. Actually GTW isn't really playable without your game freezing etc.
I was told to change the language to english since I play in german, but that did not solv my problem with GTW.
Still freezing when trying to play the dr. career.
So I just skip to play the pack and hope for a patch - between all the programing on the "Vampire" pack - soon!

I am sorry that you are having issues with the jobs from GTW causing the game to freeze. The issue is affecting certain languages.

If you are continuing to have issues with freezing when playing in English, there are a few things to try doing to see if it helps.

Sometimes having a large amount of items in the sims inventories and household inventory can cause issues. Try removing some of the items from the inventories and see if that helps.
Try also checking the inventories of other sims households in the game. Simmmers have been finding that the game has been placing items into their inventories when they are not playing the households.

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" or " options " file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder

Thanks @rosemow - I've done all that already. And I ALWAYS do repairs by routine every once in a while.
And I always make sure to keep my Inventories very low, all because of such an unstable Game.
As I have written once before, I am more busy with repairing the game than with actual playing time. Very annoying.

So it is the End of April now and we've had a few patch updates since this was last addressed, I just want to say it has not been fixed and I did go to the link and click "me too" I'm number 288 who have done so. Just wanted to say. I was sad to learn how to go around the glitch because I really wanted to see the sim have a baby at the hospital. Oh well.
