When I went to play yesterday, Origin updated. I'm sure it updated a week or so ago, and now I just went to play and it's updating again.
Is this right?
Hello
There was an origin update on November 10th. Sometimes when I log in , Origin also says that I need to update too. It is best to just let it update, then when it is finished updating, you can then play the game.
Thanks rose, that's what I did. It didn't take as long as yesterdays update, so all's good. Won't be if it wants to do it again tomorrow, but if it does, I'll let it again.
Yes, I just had that on my other (work) laptop. So It'll happen again when I go home this afternoon.
Thanks for posting that as I was wondering what was going on. I notice there's a new challenge. Did that come with it?
I am so sorry! I was posting a link for another simmer and I thought that I had copied the link from the Sims blog site when posting in your thread. The " copy" link must not have worked! I have edited the earlier post, and the correct link is https://www.thesims.com/en_GB/news/sims-4-boost-week-satisfaction

Hello
The Origin update that you received yesterday was the official origin update. Because the program had already been updated on your computer yesterday, it didn't need to be updated again today.

That's what I was thinking. The update on my other computer was because I hadn't used it over the weekend.
After the Origin update yesterday, 22nd Nov. The game went haywire. My Sim went on a date, by the time he got there, the date was over and it was classed as failure. Sims don't do what you want them to do, they go off and do there own thing, i.e. watch TV, play computer games, don't go to work or school. It seems the new City Living has caused problems that didn't exist before. I have run repairs before playing, which didn't resolve the issues of Sims jumping from one side of the room, the jerkiness of the game play. If you click on a Sim, it takes a couple of seconds to give a menu, by then they have gone and done there own thing. I even changed my mouse thinking it might be that. But it wasn't. Any ideas?

Hello @Michlyntyres
If you have cc/mods in your game, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and test to see if the issues are still there. If it has helped with the issues, put your mods/ CC back into the newly generated mods folder that is in the sims 4 folder one by one or in batches and testing after each one to see which is the causes of the problem.
Sometimes having a large amount of items in the sims inventories and household inventory can cause issues. Try removing some of the items from the inventories and see if that helps.
Make sure that your graphics drivers are up to date.
If the issues still remain, try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" or " options " file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder .
Try switching between 32 bit mode and 64 bit mode and see if one of the modes helps the issues more than the other.
Go to Game Library in Origin . Right click on The Sims 4 picture.
Click on “Game Properties”. Click on Advanced Launch options.
Change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 32-bit”
Or change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 64-bit”
I don't have any mods in the game, and there wasn't anything in the inventory either. This is a new computer, built specifically to run Sims, the drivers are up to day. I have 8GB RAM, and the drivers are the very latest specification. Another fault is one minute the Sims are sitting round the table eating and chatting, in a flash they are all standing frozen. I also have the problem where the Sim stops interacting, and I have to keep pausing the game and starting several times to get them to move.

The challenge files came in the recent games patch, but the challenge itself has just been activated today.

That link was actually about sims throwing their plates down and resetting at parties. You didn't mean to post that one did you?

Hello
Other simmers have also been having issues with sims resetting when eating meals.
It would be good to post feedback on this thread on the AHQ EA site that refers to resetting issues.

With your other issues, try starting a fresh new save game and see if the issues are occurring in that new save game also.
