Thank YOU, Fall Fun buddies for making this homemade gift exchange an enjoyable experience for all! Your enthusiasm and creativity gave us entertaining stories, beautiful builds, precious pets and special sims. So many gorgeous game goodies that will make our sims very happy as well as adding interesting twists and turns to our game.

Your gifts inspired me. Last night I tapped Arica's shoulder and mentioned this. She was kind enough to encourage (as well as join!) me in making a little token of appreciation for making this an easy event to host.

Please enjoy!

Gifts:
Every Sim has a BACKSTORY
Direct link to Freddie & Freya

Stylish Shotgun Starter
The BEFORE Story
The tour AFTER renovations

As Addy mention this was such an inspiring gift exchange and to be honest, it filled me with such nostalgia of the community that GG has always had. I absolutely luuuuurve that the Gift Exchanges have been going quite some time with the baton being passed from host to host and many successful exchanges in the books.

I'd like to echo my sentiments in saying THANK YOU to all of you for participating and making it so much fun!

Before I start rambling, as I tend to do, I want to introduce ya'll to two very special Sims that are a bit, shall we say, unique.

    FampF_zpsgnz1yeut.png

    download•here

Freddie Spencer and Freya Fuller were set up on a blind date by mutual friends and it was love at first sight. Although opposites in some areas, these two couldn't deny fate and they fell madly passionately in love. They started a whirlwind romance and within weeks decided to move in with each other. Some said it was too soon, some said it would never work due to them being so different, and some wished them all the best, but Freddie and Freya only cared what each other thought. Are the irresistible scientist and the brave, perceptive blog artist in it for the long haul or is it really too much too soon? You decide! True, Freddie could be said to be a bit hot-headed at times and maybe a little socially awkward, but he was always the proper gentleman where Freya was concerned. And while Freya, for all of her quirkiness, could be a little bit of a slob and would much rather spend her time tucked up on the couch blogging about the latest fashion trends, she only had eyes for Freddie.

After pooling their resources, Freddie and Freya searched long and hard in Sunset Valley to find their perfect starter home. When they happened upon Shotgun Style, they thought it would be the perfect home that they could fix up to suit their style, but also grow into. They just needed someone to help them fix it up. While they waited, I thought I'd give them a little bit of a makeover!

Just note: To make Freddie and Freya, I randomised them twice and then made over their faces. For their traits, I randomised four times.

    Freddie Spencer: Scientific Specialist

    Traits
    - Hot-Headed
    - Irresistible
    - Loves the Cold
    - Proper
    - Socially Awkward

    Freya Fuller: Blog Artist

    Traits
    - Brave
    - Couch Potato
    - Perceptive
    - Slob
    - Supernatural Fan

I sincerely hope that you enjoy Freddie and Freya and I would love to know how you've played them out - will they or won't they stay together and goodness me, what kind of genetics would they make together? I see protruding ears and noses a little bit on the large side (luuuurve it!).

Another note: All of Freddie and Freya's outfits are base game clothes (thank goodness for CASt!).

    Please ENJOY!!

In the wonderful world known as Sunset Valley, there is a house. An unassuming 2 bedroom, 1 bath starter home built at 58 Water Lily Lane. The architect called it Shotgun Style and was rather proud of its simplicity & affordability.

It sits empty, waiting for the right owner to look beyond the solid foundation and sturdy construction to see the potential that can be brought to the surface with time, lots of elbow grease and a few simoleons.

Perhaps you've seen it as you've ridden past in a taxi...

Upon entering the front door, you'll step into the great room ~ living area + dining nook + kitchen

The sole bathroom seems nostalgic due to decor that was rather popular decades ago
    BathBEFORE_zpsbna9a8cz.jpg

Somber tones makes for a bedroom that would encourage sleeping, but not much else
    Screenshot-6_zps48jyjzko.jpg

The spare bedroom has a cheery quilt that brightens this dimly lit room. Woe to the sim that steps too close to that floor lamp!
    Screenshot-7_zps6vjau2sj.jpg

This diamond-in-the-rough is available and the realty company offers TWO affordable options:
    Furnished ~ §15,020
    Unfurnished ~ §12,133

It's move in ready so even a single sim could take it as it is and focus on others things like career and hobbies.

Or... it could be the start of something...

A couple of sims saw this piece of real estate as a good place to start their lives together. They pooled their simoleons and proudly watched as the SOLD sign replaced the FOR SALE sign.

Time was spent... walking around with measuring tapes, clipboards filled with graph paper as ideas bounced around and were quickly discarded or jotted down. The budget might be limited, but their imaginations weren't.

As soon as the plans came together with both in agreement, the real work began!

    Presenting the
Stylish Shotgun Starter <= click to get link

Affordable housing with lots of potential.
Remodeled for a new couple so 2nd bedroom is a study, for now.
    Furnished for less than §18,500.
No CAP or CC. No store content.

    The newly renovated exterior

    Screenshot-4_zpsqs8l76hg.jpg

Step inside and the differences can be readily seen!
    GreatRoom_zpshwpumxqx.jpg

The brickwork received a fresh coat of stain in a warmer shade and that set the tone for the newer bathroom
    Bathroom_zps03oenspi.jpg

The bedroom is reminiscent of a cabin and will invite restful nights
    Screenshot-8_zps2feuzr0i.jpg

The spare bedroom is a study/studio for now, but could easily be re-done to suit a growing family
    Screenshot-5_zpsorlnjouo.jpg

May you wake each morning with a smile here
Enjoy time alone or snuggle with someone dear

Find time to hone skills or learn something new
Like chess and dabbling with the paintbrush too

Wishing you a warm welcome to your "new" home, my friend
This is just the beginning... although my part is now at an end.

@aricarai - Those two sims are so cute and goofy looking, I laughed when I saw them. They sound like they will be really fun to play. :)

@ADWilson - I love your shotgun makeover! And you managed to keep it a starter - that's amazing! The interior as well as the exterior is SO much nicer than the drab it was originally. Thank you for doing a makeover of a place that seriously needed it! It will make a great little home for the Fuller-Spencers. :) (As I'm sure they will be married soon!)

Thanks @ADWilson and @aricarai this is great! I They look like a fun couple with a cute litter starter house. I love the outfit you made Freya and I am surprised at all the pops of color in the house. Good job guys :)
Adwilson, It's us who should be thanking you. I really enjoy being part of these exchanges. It's nice to know that we can still inspire each other even after playing all this time. Thank you

@MiaSkywalker - goofy is such a good way to describe them! Poor Freddie has no fashion sense and really loves the color brown and Freya with those (cute!) ears! Good gravy - I so want to see what their babies will look like!

@blair2396 - thank you so much; I had fun making them!

@Kgaff - Thank you - I had so much fun with CASt!

@aricarai Freddie and Freya are adorable! Freya's expression in the download link made me chuckle...she looks like she has quite a personality!

@ADWilson Love the makeover! That house is one that I've always thought was quite boring, so major improvement! The little patio/garden is a great touch, really works with the pretty brick exterior.

    Thanks, Mia :)

There are things I wished I could have added, but I purposefully restricted myself to base game + ambitions (for laundry) and no store stuff as well as the challenge of sticking to the starter budget. Wanted it to be okay for any/all buddies who wanted it and I didn't go back and re-read letters to see if I could have gone further with EPs/SPs. Since I was a silly and got this idea last night, there wasn't much time for fiddling around... focus, Addy, focus... stop looking at your PM to see what fun arica has going on with her side of the project lol

    Thanks, Kgaff :)

My thoughts exactly! It is simply amazing to see what y'all come up with based on what you read in your buddy's letter. It is my pleasure to play a small part in this process, but the majority of the thanks and appreciation goes to each of you because without your enthusiasm and participation I wouldn't be hosting. I truly believe that these gift exchanges are worth keeping around as long as interest is indicated.

Love the makeover! That house is one that I've always thought was quite boring, so major improvement! The little patio/garden is a great touch, really works with the pretty brick exterior.

    Thanks, Bookie :)
It was a little boring, but has such potential for expansion/improvement... there is a lot of property off to the left of the house and I'm sure over time this house could become a home to suit an expanding family.

May Freddie and Freya or whatever sim couple claims the Stylish Shotgun Starter for their own be happy here.

    lol what fun!

@aricarai I think goofy is a good description. It would be great to see how their traits interact with each other. will they fall madly in love? or tick each other off?

@ADWilson what an astounding makeover! the lot looks beautiful. I can really myself using this.

Yes, indeed! Fun must be arica's middle name :) Like you, I'd like to know how their traits interact when they're together.

    Thanks, jenn :)
Have fun with it. Feel free to return with pictures of the adventures that Freddie & Freya find themselves in!

It was fun giving y'all a goodie bag to take with you for making this event as lovely as it was. True, the game definitely needs more affordably priced starters. It was my pleasure hosting. I had fun and enjoyed each moment being a part of A-squared (Arica & Addy). She's already offered to help with the next one which has me doing a happy dance because I somehow managed to not have her running for the hills with my umpteen PM messages lol

@aricarai ~ Thanks for such a unique, quirky, Fun, and interesting couple. It will be fun to see what troubles they get up to in my towns <3

@ADWilson ~ Thanks for remaking the starter house. I love having a variety to put down in the world as you know how much story progression loves sims to move around lol At least now they will have a pretty home to move into :)

@ADWilson and @aricarai thank you both for hosting, and thank you for such fun looking sims to add to game and the great remake! Freddit and Freya have some fun looking traits and careers! And starter homes are always much appreciated  That was always my go to starter home before I started dling starter homes from the exchange, and it feels nice and nostalgic to use it again, but a MUCH nicer version!

    Thanks, Big Sis!
Our sims always need somewhere to start ;) Oh my yes! SP fills up houses very quickly so sometimes it seems like a race to get a place for those moving out of my main house lol

It was fun hosting :) What a wonderful coincidence that your go-to starter home was made over! Nostalgic moments are nice.

Freddie and Freya look like a very fun couple. I really like Freya's nose and ears. :) Will be fun to see what they do in game. Will certainly be adding them to my game.

The reno of shotgun style is quite the improvement. I love the changes to the landscaping and the side yard you have added. Really liking the addition of the half wall to the bathroom as well, helps frame the tub nicely. :)

What a great couple and cute house, I especially love the reno version. I'll have to add this to my game at a later date and play them. Off to rec.

    Thanks, CD!
If only there were more simoleons to play around with... lol There's always one (or three!) more things one would like to do or add. Landscaping is definitely one area that can be expanded upon. Even though my own bathrooms don't have the toilet "hidden away", I find myself wanting there to be a bit of privacy for sims. I agree, it frames the tub nicely... I usually use a full wall, but decided to go with a half wall for some unknown reason & quite like it. Might have to do this more often ;)

    Thanks, LadyE!
The contest that @aricarai is hosting got me thinking about renovating starter homes so I chose to pick one other than the Monotone (my go-to starter in Sunset Valley!) and am pleased with the way it turned out. Might have to do more of these :)

Yeah I love renos. My favorite was the one near the Criminal Warehouse in Sunset Valley. I could reno that one all day long.

I don't spend much time doing renovations since I tend to grab a house & get playing lol, but am in the mood for doing more of them now :)

I don't recall which world, but there is a starter home (looks like a trailer) next door to the Criminal Warehouse that I enjoyed having a criminal sim live in. Super funny to see the car for work arrive, get sim and go next door :D

I thought I would choose careers that I've never played before. There's still so much to discover in the Sims 3; I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface. And their traits are completely random, so it would be good to see how they interact. ENJOY!
