Asking out on a date

I want to know if it's normal to have a sim that you have no friendship or romantic relationship with ask you on a date? Has this always happened? Is it new or is it a bug ? If it's a bug I don't want it to go away, I think it's cool!!
So salim keeps calling my sim Tilly asking her on a date because he can't get her out of his mind lol she keeps rejecting him though as she's happily married to Akira.
He did ask her out to a normal dinner so she accepted and took akira with her, but Akira has the jealous trait and got mad when she spoke to salim. I don't blame him though, dude is after his woman!!!

What is happening in your game has been posted about in this link thread on the AHQ EA site. It has been happening in other simmers games also.
