Alas it seems to be yet another expansion which is very similar to the police station and the movie studio. But IMO we have enough of this kind of careers already. So I hope that this is the last one - if we ever get more expansions after this one.

I agree with the-girl-who-games that this sort of expansions are becoming boring because they are too similar and because they require us to use too much time to advance in the careers - and especially after we get the lvl 6 specialists. We need something new instead.

I like that it seems that we will get a downtown area too though. But I just wished that this new area would have had another purpose.

Because of this update, FreePlay is joining all 4 main The Sims which include the Medical career although TS4 requires you to own Get to Work similar to the Law Enforcement career.

I agree with @Erpe about the expansions being boring due to all being similar and time consuming. FreePlay needs something new but the game only has few original content such as the Mall, Chocolatier, and Castle.

Sadly you need the Mysterious Island quest to be completed to access the profession whereas the other two professions didn't have this requirement.

I also wonder if there are any changes in the update.

Hey everyone! I haven't been around here for awhile. Things have been a little crazy. I just noticed there is another sims free play update: doctor. I'm excited about this one!

I have a few sims working as a police officer and one of them within the movie career. Now that the new doctor career update is available, are these old careers still available too? I want to have some sims within the doctor career, but want to keep going with the other ones too. I haven't gotten very far.

Is there anything else I missed or need to know?!?

Yes, the old careers are still available. The new doctor career is accessed through the new railway station which you therefore need to build first. When the railway station is working it can bring you to the completely new downtown area where the doctor and the nurse will work.

The hospital have very long work hours (12 hrs each day) and even the first tasks take almost half an hour. So I guess that this are the main difference to the police station and the movie studio.

Still I think that the game now is much too time consuming if we have two sims working in each of those three new careers and are trying to promote them. So I don't hope that we will get even more such careers.

There is no place to build the train station and I haven't built the hospital. I haven't even gotten a prompt to build the hospital. Is there a prerequisite quest? I have the bridge already built to the island.

@SimsILikeSims You have to start doing a series of tasks given to you by some toddler. When those tasks are finished the train station will be build in the lower left corner of the main neigborhood and you can travel to Downtown which is a completely new neighborhood that can't be reached before the train station is built.

Their are a lot of high buildings in Downtown. But they can't be used for anything and at least for now only have decorative purposes. But in the middle of Downtown you can build the hospital. It takes 36 hours though ;)

Downtown has nothing to do with the iland.

Hiya, you need to be at least level 15 and have completed the Mysterious Island quest chain :) Hope this helps!

I had a glich in my game where i built the hospital before the train station now i can't get back to the hospital to finish it and can't build anything else. I put a ticket in quite a while ago but they haven't fixed it yet. I have been playing for 3 years and don't want to start over. How long does it take them to fix a game?

Hi @Lisamariecrocker, I'm very sorry to hear of your experience :(

EA Support on the phone should have redirected you to Firemonkeys support (Firemonkeys are an EA studio and have their own separate support team and system that work exclusively on titles such as The Sims FreePlay) to be able to give you specialized support.

You can contact support here: http://bit.ly/EAFMhelp

The good news is that your issue of the hospital being built first can be addressed in a straight forward manner by our support team, where they can apply a fix directly to you game. This can only be done through a support request, as a support agent will apply the fix to your specific game, and that can only be done via your request.

Let me know how you go with putting in the help request and if you run into any problems, please don't hesitate to let me know so I can help out where I can!

I am level 25, and I think I already completed the Mysterious Island quest chain, started building monuments, even built and cleaned up all the areas of the horse stable, but haven't completed all the monuments yet since some resources for the monuments are very rare to obtain. Do you have to have built all the monuments for the train station build area to show up?

Nope, @SimsILikeSims! You need to be at least level 15 have completed the Mysterious Island quests (monuments excluded). The Train Station should be on the right side of your town (make sure you on the Town Map view!)

Besides sending your sim to work as often as you can, is there another way to complete tasks faster? I just looked at the locked sections of the medical career and I want to unlock them! I need several items to unlock them and it seems like it's taking awhile to get them. By the time I do, another career will become available. Any suggestions? Should I switch a sims career and have two sims working in the medical career at once to help speed it up?

You need two sims in the medical career such that you can have both a nurse and a doctor when they reach level 6. Besides that just remember to use the resource spin every 4 hours and to give your sims new tasks as often as possible while they are at work.
