Spooky, doesn't mean it has to be about halloween and ghosts per se. It just should be a more mysterious story. Maybe one that gives you chills as something weird happens that us perfectly logical in the end. Or just one that takes place in a spooky setting, a night.
... continues to ponder how to twist the theme....
Check out Raerei's Fortress for Builds, Short Stories, and maybe some longer stuff.
I'm about to binge watch the months entries!!! Then probably play sims myself, because in my dream I was playing Sims2???
Pssst @Carewren123 your Forum signature still has the short story theme for April XD
I know lots of people want a Halloween theme for October and I don't want to disappoint. i think it's flexible enough for you all to make the theme you own as always. Have fun!
Special Rules: 500 - 2000 words and 1- 15 screenshots. October is always a fun time of year to me so I thought you woul enjoy some extra words and pictures.
Great theme! I will have to come up with something for this month. I think I have a possible idea or two...
WOW just finished this month's offerings .. lots of sad ones SNIFF Now the hard part .. to decide who to vote for (glad I don't have to decided yet). So many wonderful offerings! Great job everyone!
I've selected my three I'm just waiting for the poll to go live.
I was really stuck between about 5 stories, and there was one that I really wanted to vote for, but ended up getting cut out of my top three.
My sort-of last minute, almost late entry: Bonnie and Clyde.
I'll be honest, this one was a struggle... But I did it! I couldn't decide on which plot to follow for the longest of times -- Alice and Wonderland, with the Mad Hatter X Alice, or a future Scarlet Teardrops thing... In the end, it turned out to be neither. XD But, that's okay. I'm happy with it.
Bonnie and Clyde
We made a promise to each other that no matter what, we would be best friends forever.
@SilentWolf101 I wasn't able to reply on your story but I did click "like". I loved that story and I like the progression of their life and how they were led into that life of crime. Wonderful imagery too. I often forget how beautiful TS3 is!!

Woohoo!!!!!!! Already, I have an adorable idea! Time to go put it into motion!
So tough this month though I think I have it narrowed down to three now. I may have to re-read a couple just to make sure I'm ready when the poll opens.
September's final submission list September's Theme: Late
I'm making fun of myself a little bit here. Since I was late in posting this month's theme I let that inspire the theme itself. As usual you're free to interpret the theme as you want.
Special Rules: None this month. The usual 500-1500 words and 1-12 screenshots apply.
Voting for the winner of the September 2016 challenge is open at this time. (Poll closes at midnight (Central US time) on the night of October 8. Link below)
Simply list your three favorite submitted stories (You must list three different stories). Rank doesn't matter - you don't have to list 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Just your three favorite in general. The stories with the most votes overall will win. 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be awarded.
I voted. It's always so hard to choose three. Everyone's short stories deserve some sort of accolade.
Also, I got my entry for October up. I'm a bit hard pressed to describe it as 'spooky', but, well, it's probably best to read it yourself and make your own conclusions. (it's got blood in it, does that count?)
What a fun idea for October!
It almost makes me want to bring my little ghosties back and make a story. However, I'm basically looking for a job and that's all the time I have besides working still. Ugh. I might throw around in my brain a little. Who knows? I might come up with something that I can write up quick. Ha! Of course, I'm not that fast a writer. lol

Eeeep!!! Got my votes in!!! Such a tough time this month. I know we say that every month but it's just true. The creativity and short story concepts really amaze me in this community.
AAUGH .. I am having agony .. I have a wonderful venue and my characters are set .. even a few special effects arranged and NO WHERE to go with it LOL OH MY!

Well, I'm early for this one but my short story is done. I hope this classifies as spooky enough.
