I've d/l Bulk Rename Utility ... and am afraid to use it !

Has anybody out there had experience with this? I'm terrified I'll somehow lose my mods folder....all 10,000 files plus folders. On the other hand, it's not likely I'll ever go through them one by one to change the file name by deleting the characters. Current load time for the game is around 30 min and I'd like to shorten that. This program has been suggested but I'm always leery of "new things"... Is there something I should watch out for?

Before using the program, make a backup copy of your mods folder and place it on an external drive. Then if issues occur when you use bulk rename utility,you can place the back up copy back into the sims 4 folder instead .
