Howdy peeps! I hope your week is going well.
I've just reinstalled Sims 2 after a long, long break away from it and am starting to set up my first hood. I may not stick with this one, it just depends on whether I find something more suitable - but I was hoping you folks might share some pics of your hood set-ups.
This is mine so far, I have just started a central town area of community Lots and then a little farm area at the back with a country church.
I think the roads are probably a little too far apart for my liking so I may look for a custom hood. I did download the nice one from
@Rflong, called Central City, but there are a few too
many roads for me in that one - it was a bit scary to think of filling that up.
I would love to see what others have done with their hoods.

I can say I've enjoyed building neighborhoods for many years, in both TS2 and TS3.
*Added the Spoiler because I Might, in my enthusiasm, added too many pictures.
These are mostly older pictures.
Do you know what hoods they all are? Is Long River Valley available? And 10th pic down? And 14th & 15th pics down? And what about Forsaken Valley? Lol. So many I would like!
just wow I did not see all these on your sharing thread are these or some of them available for download as although from tomorrow I an starting back in central city ( I have renamed it beach city 2 -) I would like to download some of those to play in later

I like it so cute, I love usable beach areas so can your sims swim from the houses on the beach? My problem is that I love big hoods so I can add anything and everything in 1 place ( I thinks it a 3 thing-)
no it is not usable but this is the first hood that i have made i wanted to start small but my next one is going to be HUGE!!
LOL well then bows to awesomeness because I would never be able to make my own so I usually just use Rflong7's. Before my upgrade playing around I had room for an airport, bus station, trains, a bit of a motorway, parks and neighborhood deco then I started adding usable lots and I will get back to it but I promised myself on this clean install I would go through all my CC which I am doing now but I really don't want to and am starting to get distracted by other things lol
I don't have all the maps any more. I do have most of the builds from them and a few of the neighborhoods but I made them before knowinng about clean files. I'll go through my files and see about setting them up again- it'll take a bit.
@Rflong7 you must have been very busy back in the day!
I hope some more people will show their hoods. They don't have to be made ones, I'd just love to see how you've got them set up.
Oh sorry @Rflong7 I do not mean to make more work for you I already seem to do that on a regular basis
Anything you have on your sharing threads I have already downloaded including all the lots but I did not notice all those lovely maps that's why I asked I will go back to the link where I downloaded central city and look again..
@elanorbreton
Some of us started showcasing things we were trying to do on the following thread but be warned we got distracted testing things out and adding extra info not really relevant to the thread but its a good thread to get some more ideas and look at pics.. work backwards

stunning, amazing and wow. Everything is decorated so perfectly I am just starting my journey of trying to be more creative in neighborhood decor but it does not come to me as easily as it does to other players so its slow going.
May I ask what whose neighborhood sky mod you are using and if you are using a water color change mod as the following mod is the only one I can find for the ocean but its a little too green for me.. I have just added one that helps with water color a little but your water color looks really nice..
No water colour change mod, although the sky colour does make the water look different due to reflection. In the pictures of Starrybeach and Bluehaven, it is raining which makes the water a nice grey colour.
For the Hinterley image, I'm using this sky:

Combined with Criquette's Horizon:

(Yes, you heard it right- Criquette has been playing Sims again!

For the second image, I'm using nimi's sky:

It never occurred to me that the sky would reflect on the water like that until you just mentioned it
Thank you so much for those links I had looked at pschosims before but thought the water looked really dark so did not bother to give it a go I may go back try it out because it looks lovely in your hood..
I already use nimi sky mod so I must simply be using a different color to you it is also quite subtle which is why it probably wont have an effect on water colors..
I only realized recently when I started to play 2 who Criquette was when I began using all the wonderful deco stuff that had been created so yes I am really pleased a creator of that caliber has come back and I look forward to the newest creations I did not realize there was a Tumblr so thank you for that..
I really like sims artists but have noticed whenever I go onto the site and find something the download link is usually not working which is a shame..
Whenever I am searching for something even if I don't think I am going to use it straightaway I often download and save just in case I decide I want it later and it has disappeared
I was just looking on MTS for some hood decor and came across the name of Criquette - didn't know who this person was before! Looks like some awesome stuff.
when I first started Pleasantview was my favorite and still is in many ways but I need big hoods now so I kept on using pleasantview to test things before the upgrade which as you can see is a water mod that does not quite cut it lol
Why don't you just download your favorite EA sims as clones then what I did was give them all the same aspirations and traits that they have in their home hoods. Its not quite the same but its great to see them all wandering around a new hood.

It looks amazing! Did you make all the Lots yourself? I need to go to bed soon, but I had time to look in an apartment, a few houses and a couple of community Lots and they all look fab. Thank you so much for sharing I will let you know how I get on once I move some families in.
