Completed with no fires no deaths. and completed my 2 aspirations painting and musical. My total score at the end is 207. I originally tried it with different rules and it went badly wrong. I did this as the princess asylum challenge.
I've restarted this challenge a few times, and it just isn't working for me. The problem is mainly the lack of super fast forward. 3x speed is ridiculously slow and it makes things take forever when your main sim is at work/painting/repairing. Not the creator of this challenge's fault, I just really wish the powers that be would fix this. How come the other games had it but not this one?
I did it on the hard level. Two fires brought my points down a lot. I did soul mate, painting, nerd brain, and body builder aspirations. I suppose looking back I could have also had my sim marry the other sim in the house who also had the soul mate aspiration. :P But I chose the cute girl to marry instead. Haha!
I was really enjoying this challenge and it was all going well until my sim had to take everyone to the gym so that she could complete one of her aspirations. The others jumped into the swimming pool and drowned! Grim Reaper took them all even though she pleaded her heart out! :-(
I'm really interested in doing this challenge and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if it's allowed to decorate the house with clutter items and paintings and plants? And is it allowed for them to have a speaker and does it have to be the cheapest one? Does the speaker count as skill building items?
Also, if I want one of the skill building items to be garden pots to grow plants, how many pots am I allowed and does it count towards the initial budget (1000 simoleons) because I'm playing the EASY option.

i believe you can decorate with anything u like and you can have a speaker but i not sure if it counts as a skill building
This challenge is so fun ! I have played it sooo many times and i have done easy mode and medium difficult...kinda scared to do the hard mode but i will eventually ;) i have plenty sims i have made and i make them wear scrubs...sometimes ei spice it up and they wear costumes XD
So, when I started making the characters, I wanted to do people that I thought were insane . . . So I ended up going with serial killers . . . I may have some mental problems. Hahaha!

@Ompabop Well, the problem is that he is a clown. I mean, there are technically two clowns, but one of them is more clown looking than the other since one is Gacy (Dressed as a clown and killed kids) and the other is The Joker (Comic book villain that has killed around 100 people). And I hate most things that look like clowns. I had to take the long way out of a casino once because Ronald McDonald was outside the doors I was trying to leave through, @_@

What happens if the main sim your playing as dies? do you have to restart or move on to a different sim.
Also without me realizing 2 of the unplayable sims (the ones i cant control) decided to woohoo and tried for a baby(shes showing thats how i know) but what should i do with it? o_O

If your playable sim dies, the challenge is over. As for the baby, perhaps you could manage world/edit sims and move the baby out to another house?

I've started my asylum challenge and I am loving it. I am almost halfway done. The asylum challenge is the first challenge I would have completed since sims2. (since I never really get to finish one). I did change some rules around but kept the basic going. The only thing I changed was that I would let my sims sleep from 6pm till 7am. Meaning I do wake them up at 7am and block the entrance to the rooms upstairs. It's a bit more realistic. This gets them crankier, so far two of my sims are always in a fight. And I do get a lot of sims falling asleep on the floor. I also made it a rule to take all of my sims out of the asylum every Sunday either to the museum or a restaurant or the park. Taking 8 cranky sims to eat at a restaurant is asking for trouble. All in all I am really enjoying this challenge.
So I uploaded the first actual game play where yesterday and you can find it on Youtube by searching 'Serial Killer Asylum Challenge'.
But just for a recap, Bundy refused to go to work and ruined my day after work, Gacy made everyone sad with his presence, and I realized that I had forgotten to add a sink and lower the funds. Hahaha! Also, Bundy is being a creepy stalker. O-O
So far everything is going well! My sims are actually quite nice, I realize I forgot to make one of them mean, or evil but honestly I love the current family and will be sad to see any of them go The house is quite bare, and although everything is of the lowest quality the only thing that really looks bad is the kitchen. I'm planning on playing with all of the sims and (hopefully) having them all leave the asylum
One thing I have changed is that when my main sim is at work I play as another sim just to make the time go faster.
One part of the challenge I'm confused by is the aspiration part. So for instance if I was doing the cooking aspirations I would have to complete both the master of mixology and the chef one?
