@Ravager619: What do you mean my part of the world? Like where I live? :D
Yeah, modern homes are fun cuz you don't have to deal with roofs too much and you can make it look crazy and not so proportionate unlike suburban type houses.

I think it is uploaded. I can't remember the name but it's on a 40x50 lot. The inside is rather plain and boring actually.

I screenshot homes from pinterest most of the time and create my own plan inside. Sometimes I'll do floor plans but the exterior never turns out as nice. I have a lot that I've done I will have to gather some and post them on here for u all to see

Yes! I once found floor plans for a three story home in Malaysia that I loved. I wish I still had the floor plan and the pics. If i remember, an electronics company built this entire development for its workers to live there.

That sounds rad. I wish I knew which building you're talking about but I'm not from Malaysia. :P In Singapore where I'm from, all the buildings are wild. Like this is the business school at my university:

And this is my art school:

They're like impossible to recreate in The Sims!! :joy:

I might try some of the house plans for my Sims someday. I think it'd be neat to try myself. :)

I wish we could build below ground level houses like this. But it's not possible to remove the ceiling from basements.
One workaround is to create a pool in the middle and have windows all around it, letting light into the rooms around it.
Another solution would be to just let the house sit on the ground and put grass on the roof.

This is one such solution I've created in a build.

I also made this house, using this design as inspiration. Again, if we could landscape a little it would be even more true to the original.

This is actually a funeral chapel in Slovenia, but I think the entrance can be used both for a residential and a spa. Or maybe a modern restaurant?

These houses are just amazing! I did some building in Sims 3 but nothing serious in Sims 4. I may try my hand at it again.

You can take the ceilings off the basements. That's how I make walkouts.

You can also use it to make nice entryways to basements when you don't have room inside for a stair case.

Or to put big things down in a pit.

Well, I'm building something... We'll see what I end up with, but I fear I need to build something above ground also or it will just look strange since there is no real landscaping.

    Ermagahd! Look at this house!
Makes me wish we could put surfaces on the ceiling and not just on the roof.
And also insets with different materials that frame the windows and doors.
    And...and! Windows above doors.

Found it on Dezeen, as usual.

It is hard to build correct proportions. That wall rule kinda works for the outside, not for the inside. A one square on the floor is equal to a stove. So closer to 1 meter/yard square.

I tried my hands at the above design. Obviously, some things aren't quite possible and other things I just did "my own thing".
I called the house "Brite Future", since the original is called Britespace. Available in the gallery.

I also raid pinterest for ideas! Sometimes I really want to go for a specific building but most of the time I'm just looking for interesting assets, 'pieces of buildings' or general plan shapes or styles to get inspired.

The closest i've gotten to 'mimic' a picture is as shown below. And FYI i'ts a doll house so I had to adapt quite a lot of things.

This is my recreation of a tourist attraction that I visited in the Philippines:
