NRaas mods and Windows 10

Is it possible to install these kids with Windowa 10? I've followed every step-by-step installation guide, downloaded 7zip onto my computer and even got the basic framework successfully downloaded, but I still can't get the mods to work. Normally I would just forget it and play normally, but I'm working on a specific storyline in Bridgeport and my game is becoming almost unplayable due to lag. My laptop is a medium-to-low end. EPs etc that I have installed are: Pets, Seasons, Generations, Supernatural, Late Night, High End Loft Stuff, WA, Hidden Valley, Riverview and a handful of store content.

I have Nraas mods installed on Windows 10 no problem. Maybe @igazor can help you. He's our Mod Genius here on the forums. :)

Mods are not operating system specific. The instructions for Win 10 are exactly the same as other versions of Windows and even the Mac OS.

Does your setup for working with package based content, also known as the Framework, look just like the illustrations here and is the Resource.cfg file in place? Have you cleared your game folder's 5 cache files, but especially scriptCache.package and verified that they all regenerate upon launching the game?

It opened fine. The pictures were a little different, but all that was there. I haven't cleared cache though, so I'll try that. Thanks.

Yes the Cache files regenerate even if I delete them permanently from the recycling bin. As for screenshots I don't have any, but rereading the Nraas official guide I think the problem may be that for some reason the testing mods don't save as a .package file. How do I fix that?

I meant extract as a .package file, I hate forums you can't edit your posts in.

Do you have Win 10 set to show file extensions? In File Explorer click "View" and check "File name extensions". You don't need to have this setting checked, but if you don't you might not see the ".package" part.

You will be able to edit your posts when you become a full Member from the gear wheel that should appear on the upper right of each post you have made. Right now you still have New Member status. You're not that far away, though.

The two test mods from ModTheSims do extract as package files. So do all of the NRaas mods. Whether you actually see the ".package" part of the file depends on whether you have Windows displaying or hiding file extensions.

Please use the Windows snipping tool (should be in Start Menu > Program > Accessories or do a search for it) to take three screen shots, in Detail View and showing the path of your game folder, of the contents of the following:
    -- Your TS3 game folder
    -- Your Mods folder
    -- Your Packages folder
(I am assuming you have nothing in Overrides)

Upload them to a third party file hosting site, such as Mediafire, imgur, photobucket, etc., and provide us some broken links so we can see them. By broken links I mean with spaces or junk inserted so that the forum lets you post them. Like this:
    www(dot)somesitename(dot) (somefilename.jpg)

Your Framework is not set up correctly. You have a folder called Mods inside of another folder called Mods and the zipped version of the whole thing is still in your game folder.

Let's try it this way. Go to your TS3 game folder inside of Documents\Electronic Arts\TheSims3. Pull the entire Mods folder out to your Desktop, all of it.

-- Create a new folder inside of the TS3 game folder called Mods.

-- Inside of Mods, create a new folder called Packages and a second new folder called Overrides.

-- Also inside of Mods, as a third item, drag and drop or copy/paste the Resource.cfg file that is someplace inside of the pulled out messed up Framework. So now there will be three and only three things inside of Mods: a subfolder called Packages, a subfolder called Overrides, and the required Resource.cfg file.

-- Inside of Mods\Packages, put your package files. That would be NoBuildSparkles and NoIntro. I don't see any NRaas mods in your intended setup yet, but these two are fine to test with.

Clear your game folder's cache files again and startup.
