Ok first thing i noticed was the stairs to the 2nd floor patio on the exterior, I love it your're the only one who has done this and it looks great.
With that patio though I did notice the colums looking weird just stopping as you can see in the pic below, so I added a wall trim to cover it up and so it doesnt look so weird
The next thing I noticed which looked completely bare was the right side of the house, there is no landscaping and no wall decoration and the front of the house above the lounge chair and wall above also needed some decoration. Just make sure when you finish you zoom out and look at the house from all angles including the landscaping to find what needs decoration
Here is just some examples but it really just needs something so it doesnt look so empty and some landscaping would really help to
It really is an odd looking house and I dont mean odd in a bad way, it is different quirky even with the weird roofing and strange mix of wall coverings. I am not totally sure that I think the 2 wall coverings you used go together with the wood and stone mix of those types.
It may just be my personal preference which I don't bring into judging as I know not everything my taste but I think its just the styles are to different that makes it look strange
I swapped it over for the block looking wall covering and it seemed to go a bit better, I am not sure what your thoughts are on it?
I love all the windows and skylight it will be interesting to see the interior on this house to see if you can keep that same quirky style.
I think the only issue that I really found with part 2 is that you needed to decorate more, remember its the decoration that really gives a house its personality and if you decorate well on one side and not the other it looks strange.
If you fix up the bareness and that odd column we can have another look on the next part
If no one else is about to put up their part 2 I will post part 3 in the next day or so just let me know if your still going with part 2 at the moment and I will hold off a bit longer
Yay the fairytale theme (anything magical is my weakness haha)
Ok so at the front be careful with the ivy plants over windows as its sticking into the window I just moved it over 1 tile. Same with the window at the back though I know the look your going for if possibly moo'd in place to make it look like its not sticking into the window
The decoration on the front of the house is gorgeous I love the 4 different sized windows with the living vase above them its creative and different. I love the castle type roofing for this theme and I kinda feel like it would of looked amazing to do that same roofing on that 2nd floor patio instead of the flat roofing (just an idea).
I do like that there is several different types of roofing used on the one build it and lovely lattice roofing, great decoration on the roofing.
I love that you put the front door at the side.
There really isn't much for me to comment on because it looks wonderful and I couldnt find any other issues that I would take points off for judging cant wait for it to be finished.
Hello It would be great if you did part one! Simmers are giving very helpful feedback to each other, and it doesn't matter at what time you start doing the practice challenges.
@Liziann1 oh great cant wait to see your challenges and you can do any challenge at any time. Just put the form with it when posting so I know if you want feedback
I am sorting out part 3 of challenge 2 now for anyone wanting to do it.
Practice Challenge 2 - Part 3 is now posted on page 1, please attach the form when you have complete this part and are posting on the thread. Part 3: Interior design found here
Remember anyone can do any challenge at any time as long as you attach the form found at the top of the challenge post we will give feedback if you would like it.
Since I'm busy with packing and cleaning before I leave the country on sunday I wont be able to do the last part of the challenge.
And because my laptop doesn't have the needed requirements for Sims4 I wont be able to give any feedback until mid-September/October.
But I could give some feedback based on posted pictures.
Hi @crysk I'm only just getting round to edit my practice build and I can't seem to get the roof and half wall to work on my roof terrace like you showed. The roof still sticks through the wall. Any tips?
@VioletRed Ive just had my mum come over for a visit but once she leaves I will have a close look at it for you will be in a few hours
I did notice one thing though the side where you have both rooves and one is longer than the other
if you select the longer roof and you will see little arrows at the side you can make them same length
If you just want to shorten one side of it then hold shift when you move the arrow
@VioletRed yeah I think a window would be good maybe a different window than the others you used slightly small
I wouldnt scrap it I think it suits the style and build just need to fiddle with the details and decoration
Hello @Amiejaidenalbie_1988 CBear13 will explain about what she means, but I think what she means when she says a feature wall , is for you to place wall decor furnishings together on a section of the wall, for decoration. A feature wall could be the section behind a bedhead where you place items together, to create a decorative look.
What rosemow said its just a wall that is dressed up so you can use not only pictures but things on the floor to. I dont have my pc on but i will post some examples that i have done tomorrow
