Communication is key to any healthy relationship, so why would it not be healthy to communicate with fans.......I have to agree with you strongly on this communication concept. I also agree if they came out and said, "Hey guys, we are working on toddlers, but there are some complications and we are unsure when we will add them" would go over better with me, than no communication at all. There are so many things that need fixed though and the lack of communication is only causing problems. Even though I do not play due to the stuck at home issue. I still would like to know when things are going to get done or if they are even addressing issues. There are so many good points people bring up and sadly the Gurus cannot address them due to the silence code. I'm starting to wonder how the higher ups keep any type of relationship/friendship if they believe communication isn't beneficial. I am however glad they will be addressing somethings for us. Hopefully it is more than what I am expecting though. I suspect its going to be about the patch, GP 3 and maybe a stuff pack that will be released the following month if that is what is planned. Then it will be back to the dark room for the fans again.
Yup I do agree with that kphillips2977, it seems like some of the fans are to excited for EA and Maxis to even say boo never mind tell us finally what is to come like they should of done all along, I for one am not impressed , I think if they want the fans to buy their product, then they should let the fans know what is going on and not give the fans the run around , I for one feel like I was practically begging for a bone to try and get info on what is going on with this game, I am not a dog and do not feel I have to do that to get any info about the game, If EA and Maxis wish to be so tight lipped about everything and not make the fans feel like they want to be a part of this franchise any more, then it will be their loss, cause I am sure there are other companies out there who would Luv the chance to do right by the fans.
I am just a simple person who plays the game. I don't expect any special treatment or anything.
If I owned it, I would do it the way I wanted to, whether it sunk or sailed.
@drake_mccarty exactly my thoughts, which is it? ETA: Now that I have thought about it, I have my own answer since EP announcements or GP announcements are on a Tues. and the 19th is a Tuesday. So..GP..or EP is more like it, I think...just sayin'. lol
Announcements have been made on Wednesdays. GTW (Wed, Feb 4), Spa Day (Wed, Jul 1), GT (Wed, Aug 5). The only pack that hasn't followed a Wed announcement was OR which was discovered in the Dec 2014 game patch and it was announced on a Friday.
They could use this opportunity to announce a new pack, and they probably will but based on the wording I am interested to see what else this announcement entails. Could be something, could be nothing.
Either way I see this as a step in the right direction. SGDrake clearly has stood by her commitment to try and improve communication here on the forums between Maxis and players, and that (to me) is incredibly respectable. It's far more than I have seen from Maxis in a long time, and I'm sure it took a lot of effort on her part to be able to shed some light on the happenings. This could result in more transparency in the future, and hopefully it does.
While this doesn't change my view of the game, it goes give me a newfound appreciation for members of the team who are fighting to share info. It's no fun on either end I'm sure (consumer and producer), and when EA has a muzzle on their studio it's incredibly difficult to overcome that and be able to actually share information to keep your players interested in the long run. Hopefully this can bring some insight back to EA that can help start a process of making adjustments to their policies regarding communication on future endeavors.
Hello Everyone! I’d first like to state that the only official SimGurus are those based in North America who are also members of the development / production / community team here at EARS. Any official statements regarding content for The Sims 4 will come directly from our offices here at EARS first.
Now that we have that out of the way, I’d like to give you something that is official and that I’ve been helping work on: On Tuesday, April 19, we will be providing you with a look at content to come to The Sims 4 in the next couple months. I will have more information for you about this then, but am excited for you to see what we have in store.
@SimGuruDrake you have hit the nail on the head here. This is the kind of communication I have been wanting since the game released, anything to keep players out of the dark is fantastic in my book.
I do have a question that you may or may not be able to answer however. When you say content coming over the next couple months, is this announcement similar to the one we saw in 2014 where they gave us a rough outline of 3 months and what different content to expect? Or is this singular to one pack and the promotion behind it?
It is similar to that announcement (more info on Tuesday.)

2014's announcement was incredible, hopefully this one will be too.
I was extremely hyped when the ghosts trailers was up, i was like "Is it April fools?", it was just so unexpected, and i started screaming on the floor when i found out we would get pools too.
Welp, we can only hope one of the items in the line-up is gonna be toddlers.
I don't remember that announcement. What info did they present?
A 3 month timeline of free content. We got the announcement in October, which is the first of the three months.
October - Ghosts
November - Pools
December - MOO, two new careers
They didn't go into a large amount of details, but they paved a clear path for the following months that kept interest pointed forward. I am always a fan of when Maxis gives us a timeline (I remember at the end of Sims 3 they did something similar and it really does help keep momentum, and build excitement for future products)

You're probably not paying enough attention to them. If needs are made any easier, it'd be like they didn't exist.

*sigh* They already said pets won't be objects like babies.

Shouldn't we expect and receive new gameplay with every new main release in the series by default?

"Elephant" fit into one portion of that tweet hint, so it's possible!

Habbo? What is this, 2003?
